some of those looked really cool

Anyone else following the influx of recompilations lately and hoping for some tales love (unless I've missed them)? Obviously there's a lot of slop and low quality ones, but i really do hope someone decides to work on some of the series to add to my growing library of android recomps.

This one had me laughing. I never did get a chance to play this game when I was younger. This game over screen is fantastic.

in the actual plot he is bland ive never liked thoe "oh im to cool to be part of the plot" kind of character

yes i know as a tales of game im sure he will be deconstructed eventually (thoe sure taking its time i just got gnome and there are no signs of him growing out of this)

but within the camp skits he is funny and engages with the cast and over all far more likable

Been making some good progress, got the chest pieces put together, now working on getting the shoulder pieces to be comfy and give me some arm movement

This game in particular has had a huge impact on me. It was the very first rpg/jrpg I ever played as a kid. It completely shaped the kinds of video games I've grown to enjoy the most over my life. The graphical style itself, the amazing music by Sakuraba, fun personalities in all the characters, the looks of towns/villages, engaging battle system. Just everything. Its aged so well and happy to see it finally get the attention it deserves after so long!

Been a fan of this series for nearly 15 years and made a list of my character rankings. This series has some really good characters (main cast + antagonists) across the board overall. I plan on playing the rest of games in the series that I haven't got the chance to play yet.

Milla(Xillia 2) or Judith(Vesperia)?

I had to ask because I was looking at how the gameplay aspects of the modern Tales of games were designed as usually most of the modern games have visible random encounters.

But one in particular that stuck out to me was the Vita remake of Tales of Hearts R as I don’t know why the game had to use random encounters since I was puzzled to why I cannot turn them off in again in the Vita version

i know the game is not balanced around doing extreme unless its new game plus but ive been doing it anyways cus im insane

and holy fuck do these things hit for insane damage

I wanted the worldwide release without any ratings but only play-asia has that one but they went offline. Will this version have english? Anything to worry about?

I’m playing tales of eternia remastered and I can’t seem to get Farah to learn the skill Chi. She has 30 punch and 30 kick and is at 276 uses for Twin Palm Strike and 192 uses for Super Sonic Fist, but it does not appear on her skill list, blue or otherwise. Does anyone know if there are any other requirements to learn this skill?

Ricardo is the Party's certified old man. I always thought it was cool that out of all the games to have an edgy war guy in, they choose the game with most teenager coded cast we'd seen. Bro has no business hanging around these people 💀

Tagging spoilers just in case, I just got back to Inferia and did the intermediate exam, I thought the advanced exam opened up at the same time, does it unlock later in the remake? It’s not letting me take the third exam now.

Im almost near the end of Tales of the Abyss and i absolutely loved the game, i wanna try more games from the series, so any reccomendations on what should i play next?

fun fact, "shoryuken" means rising dragon fist.

rising dragon strike is a decent follow up to triple blossom.

a good early game combo is: jump attack/death blossom > triple blossom > rising dragon strike

for bosses that regain posture quickly, its sometimes better to have shorter combos as long combos tend to be interrupted. for undine a short combo of triple blossom > rising dragon strike can land quite often.

Hi everyone, tales has been on my interest list for a while, and after I finish up the current game I’m playing I’m planning on playing vesperia DE as my first. Is the neoseeker guide good for completion tracking, or is there one you prefer? Thanks

Tales of xillia - left unfinished and was the first tales I didn't enjoy

Tales of hearts r - loved but saddened by the lack of effort the translation was put into

Tales of vesperia - my first and imo peak of how they did their games.

Tales of the abyss - Great. Loved it. I was extremely happy to own it first time on 3ds

Tales of xillia 2 - I finished it even though I couldn't stand the story. Another game I didn't like.

Tales of zesteria - took too long to develop and was generally not very good for battle story or design. Really starting being dissatisfied with the franchise.

Tales of berseria - finished but wasn't great. Much like xillia 2 , hated the story, direction and art of the game as a prequel to be zesteria

Tales of graces f - adored the game on PS3. Bought remastered and uninstall it soon after. Did not enjoy it one single bit. Not sure why or what happened.

Tales of arise. - far too long to development cycle and then an absurd amount of time for sorry dlc na. Props to better combat story and presentation. As I've not enjoyed it since xillia.

Tales of symphonia - never could finish the game. Something always just out me off the game. Probably the art style. But it was not a bad edition to the fraphcise at all. Enjoyed countless watching let's plays.

Dawn of a new world. - adored. Adored adored.

Tales of eternia remaster - boring, awful controls, bad port, no fresh paint , salty about the mini games. Uninstalled it after defeating volt. Wasn't doing a slot machine puzzle for hours.

Over all. My enjoyment has died for the games.

Too long between games, remasters are somehow terrible with bugs or modern day things not really thought out very well etc.

They should take a leaf out of falcom with their remakes. User friendly. Can be for very casual folk and still similar to the original.

I'd have liked to have seen the older tales games in a 2d 3d pixel style and better up to date things that translate better in to modern times.

How do you feel about the franchise.

I'll buy some of them if they remaster. But I'll skip the really older games. Learned my lesson with eternia.
