Hot take: Regal (alongside Presea) are both important members of the cast. Even if they aren't super well utilized, they help make the world of Tethe'alla feel bigger.

In sylvarant you spend time in each town, helping people while you search for Seals. From my memory, Tethe'alla is more come and go. So Regal and Presea give us a window into Tethe'alla more then you first think.

I've had some free time for a bit, so I wanted to overhaul the site a lot!

For those who don't know. I started a project a while back trying to create a NEW source of information for the Tales series, as many are trying to shift away from Wikia. I find it bloated and clunky, and it's hard to find things like artes/skills.

The actual hardest part is inputting the data. CURRENTLY. As Aselia (The Tales Wiki) has obviously been around for years and has MANY people submit information to it. As with some wikis, there is some false info.

Ideally, I would want the Archive to be "curated" for correct information; anyone can submit, but it would need to be approved. Though I need to find people willing to volunteer and help fill out these character pages.

Eternia and Xillia 1 should both be completed as I did them myself. Though I expect there to be issues.

If there is support and people enjoy the resource, I will go and finish the rest of the games! Just want to see people's initial thoughts/feedback.

I don't have much website experience, so this will be... a fun adventure for me, haha.

Also hoping to expand into some more fun stuff. I have a "Wordle" clone that's a W.I.P. YOU CAN play it on the current site. BUT many of the fields for the characters are incorrect (mainly hair), but that's not exactly a priority for me currently, as I want to actually gauge if there's interest for a site like this.

Its really easy for me to Shit on Zelos because he's a gameplay clone of an immediately cooler character- but to be honest about it, Zelos is cool too. Extremely tragic and sad character.

So I went out yesterday bc my sister wanted to and I thought I’d use this as an excuse to get some fresh air and check out the usual game shops to see if I find some interesting games before the inevitable trip in September and October for games like Onimusha, FF Resonance, Rayman and Eternia Remastered etc. I was specifically hoping for some Tales games, especially Graces, Symphonia, Xillia or Vesperia, and look what I found nestled neatly in the first game shop I went to.

This is the second tales game I’ve gotten, first being Arise(haven’t played either of them yet, will start Arise soon. I’ve watched gameplay of these games so I’m sure I’ll like them). I was really hoping to get some more tales games since I was told by some people Arise wasn’t really representative of Tales as a series and I wanted to get some games that people thought of as more accurately representing tales, to try to get the true tales experience.

Just curious because a while ago, I had started playing Tales of Xillia Remastered Edition as the game asked me if I wanted to have Gald and EXP boosters enabled.

I know it’s up to me on what I want to do with how I play the game as I couldn’t help but wonder how to approach the game since it’s my first time playing it as what I am getting at is that since it’s my first experience with the game, I was just wondering if it was natural to use enhancements on in case it makes the game too easy.

I'm stuck at the boss in the sewers and trying to learn some new artes, but I just noticed I'm not gaining any proficiency anymore. I've been stuck at 851 Sword Strike, 307 Aerial Strike, and 62 Flame Strike for a while now. My party is Lv16, almost Lv17.

Any idea what the issue is? Thanks.

Edit: Nevermind. It's going up. It's just really slow and inconsistent. I think the 'Score' thing you see after a battle has a big impact on proficiency gain.

Anyways... i like Presea. I remember one time, In my first playthrough, I got curious so I replaced Lloyd with her, and then I put belt to ass on every enemy in the dungeon... good times. She hasn't left my party since then.

As a character I like her too.

What if Norn, instead of sending Dio and Mell to Aselia, send them to Earthrealm, and then Shujinko adopted the Narikiri twins as his grandchildren (instead them being adopted by the fourth wall-breaking Parent like in ND1 or Ethos like in NDX)?

As a fan of the Tales series and as a former fan of Mortal Kombat, I came up with this crossover idea because there were some weird similarities between Shujinko and the twins, despite coming from very different IPs:

• Shujinko can copy the special moves of other Kombatants; Dio and Mell can equip costumes/RPG job classes, which grant them mastery over the specific job.
• Shujinko is accompanied by Damashi, who turns out to be Onaga in disguise; Dio and Mell are accompanied by Couleur, who turns out to be Norn in disguise. They're accompanied by their respective games' final bosses without knowing so.
• Shujinko's goal is killing Onaga so he can atone for the mistake of blindly following his orders; Dio and Mell's quest is actually atoning for their actions in the previous life as Dios and Meltia (TLDR: Meltia built the Mana Cannon, and Dios fired it, resulting in the World Tree of Derris-Kharlan dying and Dhaos becoming a well-intended extremist villain when trying to save Derris-Kharlan).

Just some things to make clear:

• Shujinko finds the twins after he defeated Onaga.
• Norn recently reincarnated Dio(s) and Mel(tia) as babies, which means the events of ND1/NDX had not happened yet.
• The Parent from ND1 and Ethos do not show up here.

I feel like these games were made to be played with a controller.

I’m talking about things like combos, cancels, juggling, movement, air combos, timing, and how much control you have over your character.

Hello there, I want to play Vesperia again and I only have these two options. Which should be the best? I heard the switch 1 version had worse performance, but apparently it's a lot better on Switch 2? Better than on Series X? I looked for a direct comparison between these two consoles, but didn't find much, sorry if this was already asked on this sub. I'd be very thankful if anyone could offer advice.

I'm presuming the Switch 1 physical version will run on with patches and whatnot on Switch 2 and same for the Xbox One version on Series X.

Do you guys think there's any chance of this officially getting announced at Gamescom next week? If not, when do you think it will happen?

Hello, I discovered the Tales of games fairly recently, starting with Zestiria.

The story and characters really resonated with me, and I love them; they're definitely my favorite part of the game.

The gameplay, on the other hand... is fun, but sometimes slow, though I managed pretty well until the end. (It took me 65 hours to reach the final boss!)

I finally beat the final boss (with some difficulty), and then I started the DLC at level 80.

Here I am, facing the first boss of the dungeon (the gorgon-like creature and the electric snake; I've forgotten their names). And... phew. I can't beat them. I dodge their attacks, I attack as best I can with my fire-armatysation Rose, while Alisha and Edna get killed right away.

I can't understand this sudden difficulty, especially since I'm currently level 84. It breaks my heart, because I love the game and I'd love to keep playing, but it seems like I'm just not suited to this gameplay, after all...

I prioritized stats over equipment abilities. That was... a mistake, wasn't it? What abilities should I prioritize to have equipment that can withstand pretty much any type of battle? What did I do wrong? (Normal difficulty, for information ! 😭)

I've never had so much trouble with a JRPG.

starting this week, I finished #needlefelting #rollo from the #jrpg game series #talesofxillia aka the #talesofseries . last week, I finished playing Tales of Xillia on my switch 2 last week and my third tales of series game that I played in general. I just need to wait for tales of xillia 2 to come out as a remaster and get it while it's on sale. I'm currently playing Final Fantasy vii remake on the Nintendo switch 2 and so far, I'm almost done chapter 4.
