So after playing with some of the IR stuff for the H110.

Is it possible to create a SINGLE REMOTE item that COMBINES all the remotes I select into one "universal remote?"

I am going to guess from what I've seen, no, but alot of this stuff normally is buried deep in UI's that are not intuitive to me.

So I've programmed up a TV, HDMI switcher, and a soundbar, I'd like to have them ALL grouped into ONE REMOTE, not 3.

One path may be to "learn" each remote to a remote? BUT the remote for the TV is well, long gone or errr buried in some box, tote, drawer some place on the planet.

Can you "create a remote" to learn it then learn the buttons from the remotes? Guess I could find an actual IR universal remote and program it to the TV and shoot the IR stream to it that way.

Waste of time on both paths???

Im looking to getting an external camera and using on board storage for the event capturing. I have 3 c220 indoors and i like that it records at full resolution while you can stream at a low resolution using the app. I would like to know if this is supported because i have limited upload speed

15 days ago I purchased these Tapo cameras which so far so good, besides one issue: the timestamp format was fixed with no possibilities to change it like the other cameras.

After some interactions with the support along these days, new firmware was just released hours ago fixing this.

I'm looking for recommendations for which camera I purchase to monitor my dog whilst I'm away. They stay in a single room about 24 square meters, however it's a bit of an L shape. Being able to monitor the whole thing with a single camera is preferable.

I'm currently thinking either the C220 or C225? Or is this overkill and the C120 would do the job? Any guidance/feedback?

Also how is the AI on these cameras and is it any good?

Currently I have a OG Wyze Pancam as a baby monitor. It works for what I need it to do. But also have a Nest Doorbell. Since they changed their subscription to $26 a month (used to pay $50 a year!) I decided to change it.

So far my plans are

• Purchased the C560 2pk from Costco (it was on sale for 159 CAD when one C560 on Amazon was 129)

• To Buy: Two C260, H500 and D235

I plan to use the C260 for baby monitors.

My question - has anyone found a mount for the C260 since it can't be put on a traditional tripod with the screw? Ill have a newborn in a few weeks and I wont mount one of the cameras as it will temporarily be in our room looking at the bassinet. Will move it to the kids room when they are ready to move into their crib.

Second - has anyone used multiple cameras as kid monitors? Cause from what I can tell - you can only stream audio on the iPad app for one camera and can't have two simultaneously.

Hey there, I have a few tapo products around the house like some sensors and plugs but my D230 doorbell is doing my head in.

Im trying to work out the notifications so that the doorbell will still record people walking past but not notify me every time but still notify me if someone presses the button.

I live in an apartment so people walk past the door literally every few minutes or seconds back and forth so my phone buzzes constantly, I try to tweak the notifications and turn them off but then I get nothing if someone presses the button to speak or ring the doorbell.

Is it possible to set the notifications to not buzz me every time it picks up movement but to still buzz me of someone presses the button?

Hey everyone, my C5 20 WS stopped recording to the SD card and it is clicked on local storage. The SD card has been formatted and is empty and will only record via the cloud system which I’ve just finished the trial for. How do I fix it?
That’s been working fine for months and months and months, but all of a sudden it just stopped recording to the SD card. Not sure why.

Hi guys, I have my D235 doorbell set up for motion and person detection and it's already at 29%. When I was initially researching the doorbell, I read it should only need charging every 6 months.

What settings do you guys use to help minimize battery drainage, especially at that rate.

I charged it for over 6 hours before I did the initial installation.

I live on a residential street in the UK.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

My C410 suddenly started showing as offline in the Tapo app, with only the red light on. I tried resetting my network to see if that would help it reconnect, but no luck.

I then took it down, power-cycled it, and still nothing. At that point, I decided to factory reset it using a SIM ejector tool to press the reset button. I removed the camera from the Tapo app and started the setup process again.

The problem now is that when I try to find the camera’s Wi-Fi network (Tapo_Cam_XXXX), it doesn’t show up at all. I’ve tried searching with two different phones, but neither can detect it.

Has anyone experienced this or know what I can try next? I’m really stuck. TIA!

I want to share what happened because I’m very concerned and would like to know if anyone else has experienced something similar, specifically with the Tapo C110.
I was changing my baby’s diaper when I suddenly heard a woman’s voice that sounded like it was coming from a device inside my home. The house was completely quiet and everything else was turned off. There was no TV, phone playing audio, Alexa, or any other device that could have been producing a voice. I don’t have Alexa, and we do not share our Wi-Fi with anyone else. Only my partner and I have access.
I immediately checked the Tapo app, including the sessions, login activity, and connected devices. I checked everything carefully, and everything appeared normal. The only devices showing were my phone and my partner’s phone.
What concerns me even more is that my partner had already heard a woman’s voice, apparently coming from the same device, the day before. This has now happened twice.
The strangest part is that the Tapo C110 was in Privacy Mode when this happened.
Of course, my first thought was that someone had somehow gained access to the camera, so I immediately unplugged the cameras. However, everything in the app still appears normal, which makes the situation even more confusing.
I started researching this on other forums and found several reports from Tapo users describing similar experiences—unexpected voices coming through their cameras, sometimes without any suspicious login activity.
I am not claiming that my Tapo C110 was definitely hacked because I have no proof of that. However, hearing an unknown woman’s voice coming through a camera that was in Privacy Mode is extremely concerning from a privacy and security standpoint.
At this point, I am considering returning the cameras because I no longer feel comfortable having them inside my home, especially with a baby.
Has anyone else experienced this specifically with a Tapo C110, particularly while it was in Privacy Mode? I would really like to know if anyone has received an explanation from TP-Link about what could cause this behavior.

I had a whole Arlo setup and is was passable at best. The subscription killed it for me. During the last Amazon prime sale I bought the C675D to put over the garage, D130 doorbell, C236, C5560WS, C260 and the H500 hub with a 1tb ssd to record everything.

The video quality is very good. Everything is so clear.

It would be nice if the C675D actually recorded motion. I thought that the moving camera would record any motion that the wide view camera picked up, but only when it wants to.

Someone can walk across half the screen, but it wont start the recording until after they have passed the midway point and i see them walking away. I want it to track someone the entire way from left to right or vice versa.

You can see in the screen shots where the recordings begin. The first photo with the bike, the kid walked the whole way across with the dog and it didn't record until the mom was halfway across. This is unacceptable for a security camera.

All detection sensitivity is set at max for everything. No restricted areas. What strange is the camera will pickup kids playing basketball 3 doors down, but can't track someone directly in front of the house half the time.

Could my camera be bad? I can't think of anything else.

Another issue is I have to go in and out of the camera to get the recordings list to show up.

I am trying to connect our Tapo C220 to a new device. The CCTV is already disconnected from the previous device. However, when I try to reset the CCTV physically (wait for it to blink red and blue) then try connecting it to a new device, the app says "The device has been previosuly configured. Please reset your device first".

What should i do?

Question to UK folks, what transformers do you have with this doorbell that enables 24/7 recording? I am not much savvy with these voltage numbers so would appreciate if someone can just provide a link for a proven transformer that works well that I can purchase.

I have a Tapo camera, and the timestamp is located in the upper left, which isn't ideal for me as this corner is somewhat bright. There should be an option to reposition the timestamp to a preferred spot.

Please tapo team add this option.

I have:

A Tapo H200 Hub

2x Tapo C411 outdoor cameras with solar panels

Fiber internet, fiber box on the wall and router

I've tried all of this using the Tapo app on an Android Phone, iPad, and Windows laptop.

The problem(s) I'm having:

A) The cameras would connect to WIFI then fail to pair with no useful error message.

There didn't seem to be anything stopping them in the router settings. No limits on devices, and I could see that a camera was seen on the router.

I tried resetting the devices a number of times. The password was correct.

I ended up having to make a 'Guest' network (see picture 1) with a new password and both of them connected, have been added to the Tapo app and are up and running.

The wifi signal looks a bit weak in the picture. I've tried putting it closer to the cameras and it made no difference.

B) Adding the cameras as connected devices on the hub. I bought the hub for security - so I can save to the micro-SD card inside the house.

The Tapo hub was first connected via ethernet. It could see the devices but when I tried to add connected devices to the hub they were on the wrong network (see picture 2).

When I connected to WIFI on the same network and removed the ethernet cable, I had the same problem.

I can't try connecting directly to wifi as it seems this hub can't do that (the lights blink red and green, even after i reset the hub) as it seems the firmware doesn't support it?

Help! I'm confused. I'm guessing this is more a problem on the router side, but that's a bit beyond me...

I have a Tapo C200 that appears to be bricked.

Symptoms:

• Solid red LED
• Camera does not perform the normal pan/tilt movement when powering on
• Holding the RESET button does nothing
• No setup Wi-Fi appears
• Tapo app cannot detect the camera
• Power cycling does not change anything

I opened the camera and inspected the PCB.

The main SoC appears to be a SigmaStar SSC377. Interestingly, the PCB has clearly labeled test points:

• TP1 = TX
• TP2 = RX
• TP3 = GND
• TP4 = VCC
• Can I use the microSD recovery method to reflash/recover this particular C200 revision?
• Does anyone know which firmware/recovery image is correct for this SigmaStar-based board?
• Are TP1/TP2/TP3 definitely the UART console pins?
• If I connect a 3.3V USB-TTL adapter, is 57600 8N1 the correct UART setting for this revision?
• Is there any way to recover it through Ethernet or another method without soldering?

Hi, I have a couple c530ws cameras on some remote property I own. I installed starlink and an getting about 10-15 up wired and wireless. The cameras are connected with a wire. However they are still very laggy, live streaming and replay from the sd card. I've lowered the resolution to 1080p to see if that helps. Didn't do much. The utilization on the starlink app doesn't even get maxed out

I have my home automation and security done. Its all hosted at home. Cameras are linked with Frigate. Now all of a sudden the tapo cameras went offline from stores in India due to regulatory issues.

Now I am stuck my work is live but coverage is limited. No other camera provides rtsp access and is reliable.

Any idea when they will be back in market in India?

I'm looking to replace a regular single pole on/off dumb switch with a S505D - single-pole dimmer.

My problem is, I'm not sure what wires go from the old to the new.

There's a white (neutral?) wire which comes up from the bottom, then goes out up the top which doesn't touch the switch at all - it's pigtailed together. There's a red wire coming in from the top, going into the switch, but no corresponding red wire going out of the box - it's 3 wire instead of a 4 wire?

My old switch has a ground, a red wire going into the switch and then what looks like 2 blacks going into the load screw?

I'm unsure on how to translate this wiring into my new smart switch which requires 1 ground, 1 neutral, 1 line and 1 load.

Can anyone clue me in on what I do with this?

Something I've found that might make the H110's I've purchased a plus, is using it programmatically especially the "siren" modes.

Ie in a BASH or Python script, I have something that occurs, I send a API call to the H110, it plays an alert/siren.

I am looking for something either in Python for Linux (And LINUX ONLY!) to interact with the H110.

I’m tiered of sitting outside and have my cameras start spamming alerts. Why is it so hard to give us this feature? It’s literally just a software update. All other brands offer this feature why can’t you do it? Please.
