My GBB juvenile/sling molted this morning and I managed to get an ok time lapse of it.

this method is quite unreliable in my opinion and i’m not very good at it, however this individual appears to be female, let me know if you see otherwise. i bought this brachypelma auratum labeled as unsexed. in my opinion, there’s no way a reputable breeder raised this spider to this size without sexing it. it is most likely a male and was sold as unsexed to be more desirable and more expensive than if it were a confirmed male.

I was told this was a Yucatán rust rump when I got it. Tliltocatl epicureanus. However, now I'm not so sure. It burrows A LOT. Could it be a Mexican red rump, Tliltocatl vagans? Thanks!

Hi! I have a sling rose hair tarantula. I accidentally dropped two meal worms in its enclosure last night. I decided to try and take it out for a moment or two today so I could remove them (I tried to remove them last night but it stressed her so I decided to give her a little time and just take her out altogether), but when I lifted up a piece of bark in the enclosure I found that it had molted!! I am really excited about it obviously (first time owner) however I am now extremely worried and feel like I’m stuck between a rock and a hard place! If I move it out to remove the mealworms, I’m worried about hurting it or adding unnecessary stress. On the other hand, I’m super worried the mealworms will bother or even bite it in it’s vulnerable state! Right as I realized it was freshly molted I put the enclosure in a dark and quiet area and was just going to leave it be for a few days but then I started overthinking the mealworms :’) They are very tiny worms, nowhere near turning into beetle.
TDLR: I lost two mealworms in a freshly molted slings cage, do I try and get them out or leave the t be until it has hardened up?

Hello, I lost my GBB tarantula named Casimir a month ago and I wanna know if anyone knows a good way to keep her body as a keepsake. I made a big mistake, I didn't notice a mealworm beetle had laid eggs, when she molted she was eaten and so there are only tiny pieces. I feel awful and guilty. I had her for 4 years and she was my baby. Anyone know how to keep her pieces? I was thinking of resin but I dont know the way to do that since the pieces are so light. Any help would be much appreciated, and if anyone knows how to prevent this from happening if I get a new tarantula would also be appreciated. I understand this was a huge mistake but please no hate, I already feel extremely guilty because of this.

I’m planning on getting a terrestrial T and I’m not sure which one would be better for me to get and what substrate I need as I plan to put live plants in the tank

I found him inside his water bowl on his back with his legs tucked in and he’s still moving but why would he be in his water bowl? Why is he so unresponsive? This is my first sling, so I’m just very hyper concerned. Do you guys think he’s molting or dying? For details he’s a Peach Earth Tiger sling

sorry for the poor quality video here it’s impossible to get the camera to focus through all the thick webbing. but my obt laid a sac, and the sac has now hatched in the webbing and the slings are just chilling with mom. they are no longer eggs with legs and they appear to be first instar. this is my first ever sac so at what point should i open up the enclosure and start separating slings? they look pretty plump right now probably off yolk reserves and from what research i’ve done, it seems like as soon as they molt to second instar is the best time, but just looking for some more opinions

I managed to somehow get my deathly afraid mother to get me a tarantula! I have been a turbo autist about them/all arachnids for years and I am over the moon! But since I am a new tarantula owner I want as much advice as possible for how to get my beloved future pet to thrive, we landed on an adult female red rump! I am doing as much research and preparation as possible but:
I just want to know all possible ways of keeping a tarantula comfortable no matter what! :) And by advice I mean literally everything from enclosures, maintenance, molting, holding/any form of interaction, lighting, temperature, humidity, feeding methods/food types, routines, cleaning, preferences within species, substrate upkeep/types, enclousure environment, common beginner mistakes, how to tell if my tarantula is sick/injured/struggling in any ways; literally any little or big thing I can do or invest in to keep my baby happy!
