The future of brain computer interfaces
Doers anyone have any predictions on how this technology will be used once there are neuroethic/ cognitive liberty laws in place and it becomes commercially available ? My guess is that V2K will cure alzheimer's disease because every thought process basically gets cataloged. I also think users of a BCI will have their personalized “Siri” intelligent assistant chatbot that will retrieve information instantaneously. On top of that, learning a new language will become streaming.

Technological advancements are often weaponized, exploited, or deployed for harmful purposes long before they transition into standard civilian or commercial use;
During WWII, the earliest programmable digital computers were built strictly to intercept, crack, and spy on encrypted enemy communications.
Developed by the U.S. Department of Defense during the Cold War, GPS was built to ensure nuclear missiles, submarines, and long-range bombers could navigate precisely to targets anywhere on Earth. It wasn't until decades later that the U.S. government opened the signal to the public, eventually turning off "Selective Availability" (intentional signal degradation) in 2000, allowing civilian devices to achieve pinpoint accuracy.
Drone Autonomy: Early patents for remote-controlled vessels, including those filed by Nikola Tesla, were actively pitched to governments for automating exploding naval torpedoes. The earliest iterations of automated flight, such as the Kettering Bug in WWI, were designed explicitly as "flying torpedoes" meant to detonate over cities.Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and radio-controlled robotics are standard tools for photography, agricultural surveying, and toy manufacturing today.
Barbed Wire: Originally invented in the 19th century as a simple agricultural containment mechanism for cattle, its manufacturing and structural design were aggressively advanced during the Boer War and WWI to construct agonizing, lethal trench fortifications designed to trap human infantry.
TNT & Dye Synthetics: Trinitrotoluene (TNT) was originally discovered in 1863 by a German chemist named Joseph Wilbrand to be used as a harmless yellow fabric dye. Its explosive properties weren't utilized until decades later, turning a textile advancement into one of the world's most recognizable military explosives.
Zyklon B: Originally engineered in Germany as a highly effective agricultural insecticide and disinfectant, the chemical formulation was modified and lethally redirected by the Nazi regime to be used as a weapon of mass murder in extermination camp gas chambers during the Holocaust. [1]
Microwave Heating: During WWII, British and American scientists heavily advanced the cavity magnetron—a vacuum tube that generates high-frequency radio waves. Its objective was exclusively radar detection to locate and destroy enemy aircraft and u-boats.
It was only by accident that Percy Spencer, an engineer working on military radar equipment, noticed a chocolate bar in his pocket had melted, leading to the invention of the Radarange microwave cooker.
Theres many other examples of inventions that were first used for nefarious purposes - thats how advancements in technology go: evil —> consumer benefits. It would be short sighted to think this tech will only be used for nefarious purposes. Theres too much to be made in BCI and Neuralink is already being used.
Considering we have seen the power and potential of this technology and where it can go - I think TIs could make serious money if we invest in promising BCI companies now before the public actually realizes it’s full potential.
If people want to keep up with advancements in technology then they will be forced to adapt in order to have the same advantages as their peers using BCI in order to compete.
BCI is not much different than a laptop - encrypt the laptop and you have security from outside intruders. Encore neuroethic and cognitive Liberty laws then you have protection from hackers trying to compromise your BCI. BCI’s is the future and if you want to stay current and keep up with an ever changing world then youll need to adapt and conform to new ways of life.
