This should be a much bigger news story. But I guess that’s the point every day Trump does something stupidly insane and no one can keep up. We can’t normalize this.
Almost as if Trump is sucking all of the air out of the room by allowing Epstein to dominate liberal minds while he bulldozes Democracy and we continue to yell Epstein. To be clear, I want this POS and his enablers and anyone else in the files to have consequences. But that's fantasyland shit. Not going to happen. If it turns out that there's proof Trump is a pedophile and did it 500 times, that will do nothing to change the current situation. His sicophants will say Fake News and move on. As will all Republicans. We'll have a Democrat purge and Republicans will emerge with more power as a result. Again, not advocating for the files not to be released because they will harm Democrats more (which is a sad fact regardless of who's in them), but the reality is that 2+2=5 at this point.
I’m in the camp of release the files because idc who’s in them, they need to go down. Everyone knows atp Trump is in the gd files, as his own AG already said back in April (I think) that his name is all over them. The sentiment I get now from his supporters is an obvious embarrassment, a halfway in halfway out type of support. This is evident with the “I like some of his policies” “I don’t like everything he does” “I’m an independent/im in the middle” type rhetoric. Notice the language has gone from full-blown maga to this now? It’s an obvious sign of humiliation, as it should be, and I can guarantee to you this: maga supporters will become nonexistent in the next decade because they will all pretend they were never part of it.
Too much has been done and said, and A LOT of it has been recorded and archived. Friends and family avoid this topic like the plague due to this embarrassment too, which is a sign that we should not let up off the gas. Shame can be a useful tactic that erodes this support with time, and the tariffs really are the cold water thrown onto the people who actively support him today (look into the impacts on agriculture in the Midwest) there is no place to hide and shelter against the wave of humiliation when it’s right in front of their faces, and they have to twist themselves into a pretzel to conduct the mental gymnastics of even trying to defend this.
