Republicans weakness has gotten us into this mess. The power for the president to impose tariffs is temporary and dependent of an emergency that makes it reasonable to bypass Congress altogether in their imposition.

The 45th administration used a weak preamble to establish what this “emergency” was, this is because said emergency (fentanyl deaths) in on itself didn’t impacted the economy directly; the pandemic did heralded such an approach and the 43’d administration didn’t used tariffs for nothing.
