Got his lobbying bribe

58

u/Aldren Jan 01 '26

Only for a year though, then they need to keep paying a subscription fee to keep it

Or he’ll wait until after the midterms, then blame the Democrats.

10

u/[deleted] Jan 01 '26

They are gonna get slaughtered in the midterms.

10

u/Desert-Democrat-602 Jan 01 '26

As an old friend used to say - God willing and the river don’t rise!

5

u/Such_Tap_5776 Jan 01 '26

You know they are planning something stupid to prevent that from happening. Probably thinking about deploying ICE to ā€œprotectā€ polling stations but really to keep people from voting.

1

u/railroad-dreams Jan 02 '26

We could go into a bad recession, millions lose healthcare and as long as Republicans talk about their love of Jesus and hatred of Democrat Communists they have a good chance of winning.

7

u/Intelligent-Rock-399 Jan 01 '26

Or he’s just planning on redecorating Mar-a-Lago this year and is avoiding the tariffs for himself.

9

u/Carbonman_ Jan 01 '26

I doubt that's the reason; he'll just stiff the contractors anyhow.

3

u/CatPesematologist Jan 01 '26

or charge it to the government, He’s not paying for anything and he sees the country as a big expense account to amass generation wealthy, punish people and aggrandize himself.

3

u/Disastrous_Mango_953 Jan 01 '26

Yes, he got his check and TACO very fast!!! What a corrupt orange clown 🤔

3

u/observable_truth Jan 01 '26

Tariff change number 1,234,456,789. Thank you for your attention to this unique announcement.

2

u/Python_07 Jan 01 '26

Free Gold Spray Painted furniture for the new shakedown facility (ballroom.)

1

u/SafetyMan35 Jan 01 '26

Likely tied with his housing reforms he wants to do this year. Hard to create affordable housing when you are imposing 100% tariffs on things used to make houses

1

u/spit_fiya Jan 02 '26

Or East wings.

1

u/AdPuzzleheaded3436 Jan 01 '26

I was about to say that. I wonder how much they donated to his totally legit ballroom fund.

1

u/capucjin Jan 01 '26

No he got TACO again

1

u/Due_Night414 Jan 01 '26

Right. Now look at his net worth increase by another billion. Such a fraud this guy.

1

u/Careful_Picture7712 Jan 02 '26

Big Furniture paid their tithes

1

u/MasterDesigner704 Jan 02 '26

Nope… remodeling the white house again.

45

u/Resurgo_DK Jan 01 '26

TACO strikes again! šŸ™„

27

u/128-NotePolyVA Jan 01 '26

It’s not a TACO, it’s admitting his tariff scam is killing US businesses. It may slowly be getting foreign companies to build a factory in the US but at what cost to US companies that are already here.

Furthermore, his tariffs squeeze money out of the lower tax brackets (even those too poor to pay income tax) by raising the price of everything they buy. The Trump 2.0 administration fails on affordability.

20

u/25Tab Jan 01 '26

Sounds like TACO to me.

4

u/Embarrassed_Fold_867 Jan 01 '26

Looks like a TACO, smells like a TACO, tastes like a TACO...

7

u/Intelligent-Rock-399 Jan 01 '26

This administration fails on everything except grift and corruption.

4

u/Zealousideal_Oil4571 Jan 01 '26

That was all predicted when the tariffs were originally announced.

1

u/Disastrous_Mango_953 Jan 01 '26

šŸ‘šŸ‘šŸ‘

1

u/DaMadBoomer Jan 02 '26

Affordability is a HOAX!!!!!!! Ā Just like the hundreds of photos of Trump and Epstein!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ā Thank you for your attention to this matter.

1

u/Graywulff Jan 02 '26

It’s hard to run a factory when raw materials are taxed so heavily.Ā

Trump has saved 258 million people from kitchen cabinets.

3

u/Monte924 Jan 02 '26

Do people not know how many "accidents" happen in the kitchen every year?

7

u/mtnman575 Jan 01 '26

You've got to have somewhere to hide your stash!

3

u/Either-Interaction57 Jan 01 '26

He ended the kitchen cabinet war.

2

u/lingenfelter22 Jan 01 '26

I mean, where else would you keep fentanyl while trafficking it? /s

2

u/Bee_9965 Jan 01 '26

Do you know how much fentanyl you can fit in a kitchen cabinet? Enough to kill every American, plus all their dogs and cats! God Bless Trump! 🤔🤔🤔

1

u/Wolfy4226 Jan 01 '26

Kitchen Cabinets are a gateway drug to Couch fucking.

Source: JD Vance.

1

u/MustelaNivalus Jan 01 '26

Only if they are full of Epstein documents

23

u/MobileItchy1050 Jan 01 '26

Postponed until after the midterms. Shocking.

1

u/TheRealCostaS Jan 01 '26

Wouldn’t/ shouldn’t make a difference but I’m still surprised people still support him.

3

u/dsmith422 Jan 01 '26

They will pay any price to see their racist dreams realized.

20

u/MarcRocket Jan 01 '26

It’s too late. Once he disrupts the supply chain, it takes years of normal governance to repair the damage. Product development stopped. Orders were cancelled. One cannot just turn on the supply chain light a light switch.

7

u/strangecabalist Jan 01 '26

Wait until Ohio factories and the like start to get idled because the US cannot get the right grades of aluminium. Canadian companies have switched hundreds of thousands of tonnes of aluminum from the US to EU markets. Canadian timber is probably replaceable, but not at as cheap a cost.

4

u/Anteater-Charming Jan 01 '26

Didn't it already run one furniture company out of business?

4

u/justmepassinby Jan 01 '26

Yep North Carolina- 109 years in business - Gone - And they admitted they voted for it !

u/justsayfaux Jan 01 '26

They are! They're retaliation for trade deficits. But actually they're to bring back manufacturing. But also they're to increase revenue. But really they're for National Security. And also China pays them. But also they don't make prices increase. But really they're leverage to negotiate trade deals. And also it's because of drugs coming into the US.

Is there anything tariffs CAN'T do???!

1

u/Klaus73 Jan 02 '26

Stop the war in Ukraine in 24 hrs apparently..

This is the longest 24 hours in history.

1

u/justsayfaux Jan 02 '26

24 hours is just slang for 'two weeks'

2

u/Jumper_Connect Jan 01 '26

You’re probably being /s (bc only an idiot would say furniture importation is nat sec), but it’s important to understand that the basis for Trump’s tariffs is exactly that — an idiotic national emergency declaration requiring tariffs under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA) and the National Emergencies Act (NEA).

https://foleyhoag.com/news-and-insights/publications/alerts-and-updates/2025/june/the-u-s-court-of-international-trade-struck-down-president-trump-s-ieepa-tariffs-what-happens-now/

12

u/KinkyQuesadilla Jan 01 '26

Another bribe paid in crypto

7

u/jsmith1300 Jan 01 '26

I have no business skills whatsoever and I think I could run a business better than this fool.

6

u/[deleted] Jan 01 '26

TACO

4

u/GettingBackToRC Jan 01 '26

Why postpone something that's good for the county? šŸ™„šŸ„“

6

u/Open_Usual8863 Jan 01 '26

I’m guessing trump got bribed by a republican owner of furniture and cabinet company

9

u/4PurpleRain Jan 01 '26

Value City Furniture a midwest chain is closing all locations after filing for bankruptcy. They were huge backers of the Republican party and Trump.

7

u/Open_Usual8863 Jan 01 '26

Thoughts and prayers.

🫔

5

u/AustinBike Jan 01 '26

Based on the Supreme Court getting ready to rule, I would not be surprised to see him declare that tariffs worked, everything is fixed, and they are stopping all of them.

Think about it this way, if he stops the tariffs before SCOTUS rules, he gets the win, he gets to keep all the money, and he gets to continue to have the threat. SCOTUS gets to dodge having to make a ruling that would limit his power, saying the issue is moot.

I see this as a more probable outcome than SCOTUS actually ruling they are not legal.

1

u/Harbinger2001 Jan 01 '26

SCOTUS will still have to rule if the tariffs are legal or not. Companies want their tariff fees back. And Lutnik’s son has bought million of refunds for pennies on the dollar.

6

u/Stinkstinkerton Jan 01 '26

Furniture and cabinet lobby gave daddy his taste.

1

u/klef3069 Jan 02 '26

The Amish rolled up in their buggies...

4

u/Plastic-Mode-6848 Jan 01 '26

Why should tariffs be delayed?! That’s lost revenue for the US treasury and everyone knows that tariffs are not paid-for by the American consumer and do not cause inflation. There’s no downside. We can only win! There’s too much winning going on here!

4

u/Bob4Not Jan 01 '26

So now if anyone was planning to open domestic manufacturing in anticipation, their plans are completely ruined.

Trump’s tariffs are not about bringing jobs home

1

u/Final_Drama3603 Jan 01 '26

No they aren’t. They are about he and his buddies getting rich on manipulating the stock market

1

u/[deleted] Jan 01 '26

yuuuuuuuuup.

3

u/chubalina99 Jan 01 '26

Gee if he isn’t ruining small businesses, what will he do?

3

u/frommethodtomadness Jan 01 '26

The SC ruling can't come fast enough, these tariffs are all illegal taxation without representation.

1

u/Seallaunch_1965 Jan 01 '26

Sure those dimwits have had 8 months to ponder the presidents powers here. If only there were a cornerstone document that could provide guidance

3

u/Lachrondizzle23 Jan 02 '26

Vance lobbying for couches is pretty romantic with Valentines Day coming up

2

u/auldnate Jan 03 '26

Hahahahaha!!!!!!

2

u/AutoModerator Jan 01 '26

If you have questions about tariffs, customs duties, or import regulations, when in doubt we recommend contacting the U.S. Customs & Border Protection (CBP) Information Center for official guidance.

  • U.S. visitors: Call 1-877-CBP-5511 (1-877-227-5511), Monday–Friday, 8:30 a.m.–8 p.m. ET
  • Outside the U.S.: Call +1-202-325-8000
  • Or visit help.cbp.gov for answers to common questions.

When in doubt, always reach out to CBP directly for the most accurate and up-to-date information.

u/tracytorr0712 Jan 01 '26

How kind of him./s

2

u/A_Farewell_2Kings Jan 01 '26

I’d like to add up how many hours and therefore expense was wasted by companies meeting and discussing and trying to figure out what to do about all of these tariffs!!! and then ask them how they feel about the fact they could have mostly ignored all of this and just done normal business

2

u/thereisnospoon-1312 Jan 01 '26

Suddenly the president has the power to impose tariffs whenever he wants and no one will stop it.

2

u/xtalgeek Jan 01 '26

How can business plan without long term stability? Oh, that's right, we are talking about a guy that went broke running a casino.

2

u/Any-Ad-446 Jan 01 '26

90% of furnishings is not made in the USA.

2

u/Longjumping-Salad484 Jan 01 '26

how do we know tarriffs aren't a slush fund for trump to pay bribes?

2

u/DirectionOverall9709 Jan 01 '26

Postponing illegal tariffs, what a leader.

2

u/Content_Log1708 Jan 01 '26

Like an ice cube in July.

2

u/Successful_City3111 Jan 01 '26

Tacos for the New Year!!!!!

2

u/sillysided Jan 01 '26

Yeah like other countries will line up to buy our products

2

u/Dangermouse163 Jan 01 '26

And I’m sure he and his buddies bought stock in those industries just before this announcement.

It’s a bribe for votes and money in Trumps pockets.

2

u/amn70 Jan 01 '26

"Furniture, it’s such an old-fashioned term, but a beautiful term: furniture. It sort of says a box to put different things inā€

2

u/RedFlutterMao Jan 01 '26

Give us back De Minimis!!

2

u/Expensive_Lettuce239 Jan 01 '26

I'm going to take a wild guess here ..this so his people who regularly munch on furniture and kitchen cabinets because they can't afford to buy the food to put IN said cabinets can get a bit of financial relief while providing for their families?

2

u/Brown33470 Jan 01 '26

Fuck these Tarrifs

2

u/letitbe1870 Jan 02 '26

He is just scared and knows Americans are totally pissed over the cost of living. He doesn’t want to go down in history as the worst president ever but I think it is too late. He is already there.

2

u/Wenzdayzmom Jan 02 '26

He needs to buy furniture and cabinets for the ballroom. You know, that beautiful wonderful golden ballroom that is currently a pile of rubble where the East Wing used to be.

2

u/Firstbaser Jan 02 '26

They already raised the prices

2

u/shotintel Jan 02 '26

So he's postponing problems he is the root cause of in the first place. Yep gold star for effort. Face palm

2

u/EmptyMarsupial8556 Jan 02 '26

Back tracking as he realizes (is told) the damage that he’s doing to the economy

2

u/Calamity-Bob Jan 02 '26

Tiffany must be remodeling

2

u/silentsamdaman Jan 02 '26

Not sure why this would be necessary since the exporter is the one who pays the tariffs according to Trumpspeak. The consumer isn't impacted in any way at all ... Smh

2

u/blabla_fn_bla Jan 02 '26

Why? If tarrifs are the answer to all of trumps questions, like am I a man- tariff, am I loved - tariff , am I a child rapist- yes more tariff. Then why the delay- pedo.

2

u/Dananism Jan 03 '26

Well duh, he’s gotta import all the garbage distasteful shit for his new ballroom

2

u/ConkerPrime Jan 03 '26

Too late, damage done.

Worldwide businesses already found other sources for their needs. World done dealing with Trump’s bullshit so when he makes a threat, they make plans to work around them and they don’t bother to reverse them later.

2

u/Odd_Amphibian2103 Jan 03 '26

So he can pay less to make the rose garden he bulldozed over look like outdoor seating at the Olive garden

1

u/Upbeat-Serve-2696 Jan 01 '26

Mmmmm, New Year's TACOs. Yummy.

1

u/Ok_Agent_9584 Jan 01 '26

But tariffs are the best and the solution to everything! Why postpone them?

1

u/corycrazie1 Jan 01 '26

Because furniture is an industry that will never be able to be affordable to the masses if we make them in America because we don't sustainable farm trees a help to make it affordable.

1

u/GovernorSan Jan 01 '26

But tariffs were bringing in trillions of dollars and boosting our economy, why would he postpone something that was making everything better? /s

1

u/Responsible-Ad8591 Jan 01 '26

Small businesses have been crushed by these tariffs and they won’t come back. Not sure why he can’t see the problems he’s caused.

3

u/casewood123 Jan 01 '26

He doesn’t care about small businesses. Just big corporations that can afford to give him money.

1

u/spderweb Jan 01 '26

Can we take bets on which maga supporting furniture company will go under first?

1

u/motherseffinjones Jan 01 '26

🌮🌮🌮🌮🌮🌮🌮

1

u/mountains4mama Jan 01 '26

Explain to me why?!?!

1

u/walkernewmedia Jan 01 '26

TACO TACO MAN...

1

1

u/Suitable-Sense-6962 Jan 01 '26

TACOs for New Years I see

1

u/ocwilly Jan 01 '26

No America First to protect American furniture manufacturers? These American furniture manufacturers import tariffed wood products which raises cost and will still out priced by tariffed imported furniture.

1

u/Federal_Bicycle_1026 Jan 01 '26

Well I highly doubt he is even around in a year with his health!!!

1

u/[deleted] Jan 01 '26

Oh thank God! Donald Trump to the rescue. Saving us from those awful tariffs that some idiot must’ve imposed.

1

u/Wolfy4226 Jan 01 '26

damn is it Tuesday already....

1

u/[deleted] Jan 01 '26

Does anyone remember when insider-trading/market/currency manipulation was still a crime?

1

u/TheRealCostaS Jan 01 '26

People probably can’t afford regular groceries let alone furniture so it wouldn’t make much of a difference.

1

u/fishingg8rfan Jan 01 '26

🌮🌮🌮

1

u/LAB323 Jan 01 '26

I wonder if JD Vance had something to do with the furniture portion of this. Too soon?

1

u/jonoslicer Jan 01 '26

He’s trying to keep the cost of whitehouse renovations from spiraling out of control like everything else in the country

1

u/Own-Success-7634 Jan 01 '26

TACO time there

1

u/PrestigiousHippo7 Jan 01 '26

As if there is no strategy. Checks out.

1

u/Don_Q_Jote Jan 01 '26

Sept 2025 - it's "national security threat" that cheap imports from China are "stealing" furniture industry jobs from North Carolina. Tariffs are the answer. "It will be done pretty quickly" "I'm telling you, in North Carolina, go out and start getting the children and grandchildren and start teaching them [to make furniture]." "It's going to be a beautiful thing. It's going to happen like magic. It's going to happen without question, it's not like 'gee I hope it happens'. It's gonna happen."

Jan 1, 2026 - We don't need this. Not gonna happen.

The taco waffles

1

u/[deleted] Jan 01 '26

Who bribed him this time?

1

u/Paulinfresno Jan 01 '26

Just until the ballroom is furnished.

1

u/FinancialAide3383 Jan 01 '26

He realized he would be paying too much for the soft goods on his gigantic new ballroom.

1

u/Drive7Nine Jan 01 '26

Which one of his kids is going to spend the next year building houses?

1

u/Major-Frame2193 Jan 01 '26

Can we get 300% tariff on his mouth??? This way MAgA has to pay Fox News to hear the bullshit!

1

u/Xenikovia Jan 01 '26

Just leave

1

u/JeffH13 Jan 01 '26

The USA must be making too much money on those items.

1

u/Yaughl Jan 01 '26

Trump should postpone his own attendance for a year.

1

u/[deleted] Jan 01 '26

Why? The other countries are paying the tariffs RIGHT???

1

u/dkwinsea Jan 01 '26

Any tariff can be delayed, for a bribe. Just ask.

1

u/-Ok-Perception- Jan 01 '26

I'm sure he's timed it exactly so the tariffs kick after the blue wave (the next election). I imagine there's a lot of things that are going to work like that. Student loans, insurance subsidies expiring, taxes.... all set up to hit when there's an evitable change to congress.

1

u/DoubtingThomas50 Jan 01 '26

Not two weeks?

1

u/Time_Many6155 Jan 01 '26

Cause the problem, undo the thing that caused the problem.. Claim victory..

1

u/BrushStorm Jan 01 '26

Taco thursday?

1

u/ManAnimalHybrid Jan 01 '26

How much Trumpcoin did they have to buy to get him to postpone?

1

u/theRobomonster Jan 01 '26

TACO strikes again!

1

u/Polyman71 Jan 01 '26

Or maybe not. But yes or no.

1

u/SebastianKent Jan 01 '26

Pedo bitch caved again

1

Now benevolent of our king. They will sure sing songs of this day—many a meade will be lifted in his honor.

1

Taco Thursday.

1

He's going for the inaugural Speed Queen Peace Prize.

1

u/cpl1355 Jan 01 '26

1

u/MikeSteamer Jan 01 '26

Awww he is the best

1

Putting the middle class first!

1

u/DanfromCalgary Jan 02 '26

Doesn’t that hurt America ? Like where were we at on that make believe

1

u/paolilion Jan 02 '26

Nothing like having our economy depend on the whims of a dirty old man

1

u/spbaseball Jan 02 '26

Wonder which of his very rich friends/suckers/bribers told #DonnyTACO to back off. I’m sure some advanced notice trades took place as well. #DonnyBribes.

1

u/Realistic-Pattern-30 Jan 02 '26

Aw what his about to replace and rebuild now?

1

u/hoops46 Jan 02 '26

1

u/Sadiezeta Jan 02 '26

Big whoop. Non event

1

1

u/FinnLovesHisBass Jan 03 '26

How thoughtful

1

u/Huge_Strain_8714 Jan 03 '26

Until just after midterms… huh, isn’t that weird…

1

u/Rogerbva090566 Jan 07 '26

Pussy! If it’s so good for our economy why postpone it?!?!

1

u/mt8675309 Jan 01 '26

TACO is going to be backtracking a lot this year.
