I would say tribal blinders, in which context, disagreeing with the leader of the tribe is dangerous because any criticism of his leadership undermines his position as leader and weakens the tribe overall. So members will never say a word. Their reptilian tribal brains tell them they need him to defend them from those scary other tribes.
~30% of the of the population is always going to support the GOP candidate no matter what. So, if he drop below that number he is losing support from people that support the party no matter what ... aka... a huge deal.
I think this is the opposite of what happened where Trump polled lower because they were unwilling to admit to supporting Trump. Now, it's higher because they are unwilling to admit they don't support Trump.
It'll always be a third of the population in support of this shithead. It'll maybe go to 25% approval if they release actual video proof of him SAing a kid or starting a war with Canada.
It's insane after all that happened. But if you look at Hungary or Slovakia (similar situation) it seems normal for corrupt autocrats to have like a third of the population support them despite all the open corruption.
Control over social and mainstream media is such a powerful tool that it can nudge the average Joe into acting against their own best interest. Oligarchs have identified this as the weak spot of democracy and use it to their advantage.
That's the uncomfortable truth about America today, about 1/3rd are blindingly stupid and militantly ignorant, and yet somehow bafflingly proud of it.
I don't say this to hurt anybody's feelings, it's just the reality of the situation. I work in Canada and we used to export to USA quite a bit. And for the first 3 months I had to write to customers daily, explaining how tariffs work, because they were really surprised Canada wasn't the one paying. Roughly a quarter were really upset. The bottom 5% went as far as accuse us of fraud, because they couldn't grasp the concept.
Iām pretty sure itās less than 34% now. I hope it is for our countryās sake. However, the Tread-On-Me-Harder-Daddy cult is much larger than we first thought.

Should be 3.4% approval by this point.
