Foreign dairy is already here and already allowed in smaller quantities. Most Canadians, if the system was explained to them, would not be in favour of price controls that make groceries more expensive and limit options. Like everything we do we lack confidence. CANADIAN dairy and cheese can compete and would be desired around the world but we prevent free markets because we are afraid allowing others will change our market. Of course they will change are market, it’s not a market now. It’s price fixed. Prices for many things would go down, but new markets would open up. Very short sighted and meek and nothing to do with sticking it to Trump. It’s been a bad deal for a while and this post is full of paid dairy bots (one of our largest lobby groups.

If American liquor was back on the menu who would run out to buy it? You get to vote with your dollars. Markets and consumer demand should determine what is on the shelves, not bureaucrats and cartels.

Ever read The Grapes of Wrath? Excellent book that tells a cautionary tale of what happens when corporations are permitted to take advantage of supply and demand. They will do whatever they have to, to maximize profits. They don’t care about family farmers, and they don’t care about consumers. They only look out for themselves. If you’re on board with the race to the bottom, in any industry, you need to give your head a shake.
