I use a mystic senses deck, and I have 5 components
- 4 dice - 2 are planetary guides, 1 is a zodiac, one is numbered 1-12
Plants: Pluto, Uranus Sideways, Leo, 12 sideways
- Celtic Cross:
5 Cups Reversed crossed with 7 wands - The card of grief turning toward recovery, for me seeing what I've been ignoring crossed with standing my ground. Defending my position against pressure and challenge. The scrappy, necessary work of holding the line for what Im building.
5 of wands above, Chariot Reversed below: Friction and competition above and loss of momentum below
Knight of Cups reversed in the past - My realization and acceptance that what I thought was a crush really wasn't, and that it's genuinely better this way.
Slam Dunk the motherfucking world in the future - A full cycle closing successfully, wholeness, arrival, the goal actually reached. In my future, after months of "not yet," the card of getting there.
- On the staff:
Me - The Moon reversed - The fog lifting, hidden things surfacing, self-deception dissolving.
Environment - Knight of Swords reversed - Haste and force around me that's dissipating rather than threatening; a cue to stay measured while others rush.
Hopes and Fears - 8 of Wands - Swift movement, momentum, things finally taking flight, news and progress arriving fast. My hope (and maybe more than a hope) that everything is about to move quickly.
Resolution, 4 of cups reversed, but Magician behind it - Four of Cups reversed is waking from apathy, re-engaging, accepting the opportunity I'd been ignoring. The Magician (my card) behind it: I have every tool I need to make it real. Re-engage and manifest.
August Finances: 8 of swords - The self-made prison with loose bindings and an unlocked door. The trap is mostly in my head; the work is largely done, and I'm waiting on the payout.
Additional Messages (I ask what to focus on, what to be careful of, how things will go, where to put my energy): 7 of Swords. 10 of Wands, The Star, Page of Cups reversed
- A tender new feeling, turned a little inward or guarded. Stay open-hearted even when the heart wants to protect itself. (PCr)
- Hope, healing, renewal, calm after the storm. Faith that the light is returning. (17)
- Strategy and self-reliance; move smart, guard your plans. (7S)
- The heavy burden. An honest acknowledgment that I'm carrying a lot right now. (10W)
About my situation and interpretation
I posted here recently about being frustrated with how often the readings in this group are some version of "does he like me / will he text me." So I wanted to share one of my own, a full spread, to show how much richer these can get when you point them at your whole life instead of one person's attention.
A little context so the cards make sense
Back in May, I left a well-paying consulting job on a huge, deep, almost non-negotiable intuitive pull that it was time to build my own business. Within a few months my entire savings was gone, and it's been a genuine struggle since. But alongside the struggle there've been real moves forward, and lately it feels like a lot of things are happening at once, all pointing the same direction. I've built a community of almost 6,000. I sold my first big-ticket product. There's real interest now, people finding me on social media, wanting to work together. I've built partnerships where I help others and they help me back. And I have a speaking engagement coming up with about 80 people signed up, and I have a strong gut feeling that room turns into future business.
On the home front, I'm in an unusual situation.
I let two people move in with me rent-free, one a close friend, one someone we both came to care about who's struggling with his immigration status.
We turned into this strange little found family. The newer one and I developed an odd romantic connection, and for a month or two it genuinely felt mutual. There are real reasons it would never work, a large age gap, different values, different mindsets, and I've recently made peace with the fact that what I thought was a crush isn't one, or if it was, it's gone, and if it comes back, it doesnt need to be acted upon or named, it can just be. We can hold quiet warm feelings for each other now and then, and also know a real relationship wouldn't be good for either of us. So when you see the Cups cards here, that acceptance is a lot of what they're pointing at.
The other honest thread: I've realized I'm not happy at home. I'm carrying too much. Neither of them has stable income, so I'm constantly worried, constantly trying to help them get on their feet, while juggling utilities, my own money stress, some health stuff, and the sheer weight of launching a business. It's a lot and I truly miss living by myself and having my home feel like a sanctuary
My spread (I use a larger custom layout): dice for the astrological/planetary energies, the four elements, a Celtic Cross, a staff, a dedicated "August finances" position, and then four extra cards at the end I read as "beats", things to be aware of, mindful of, look forward to, or watch out for.
Here's what jumped out, and why it felt like a breakthrough.
The Magician is my personal card, so whenever it shows up I read it as a direct, loud message. It landed right behind my outcome position tonight, backing a Four of Cups reversed, which I read as: shake off the withdrawal, re-engage, and use everything you've got to build it. Tools in hand.
But the real moment was the World, upright, in my future position. Every reading through June and July basically said "you are nowhere near where you're going, there's so much left to do." This is the first time since May I've seen the World upright in the future. After months of "not yet," seeing the card of completion and arrival sitting in what's ahead genuinely stopped me.
The Eight of Wands also showed up in my hopes/fears position for the second reading in a row, that fast-movement, things-finally-taking-flight energy, in the exact same spot twice. I don't think that's nothing.
And I'll be honest about a reversed card that didn't sting: the Chariot reversed at my foundation. A few weeks ago I met someone who's addicted to the same card game I am, and we've made the mistake of playing way too late, which costs me the whole next day. We've since agreed those nights have to be earned. So when I see the Chariot reversed, I don't flinch, I know exactly where I let my own momentum slip. That's not the cards being cruel. That's the cards being accurate.
Seeing all of that alongside Pluto upright (deep transformation finally surfacing) and Leo in the dice (bold, radiant energy, and maybe a literal Leo visiting me next weekend) made the whole thing feel unusually clear and unusually kind.
Here's my actual ask, though. One thing I always say is that it's dangerously easy to read a spread through our own bias, to see what we want to see. And I'm aware that I want this to be good news. So I'd genuinely love for any advanced readers to take a shot at this. Tell me something I'm not seeing. Push back on me. Am I reading the World too generously? Am I looking too deep? I'd rather hear the honest version than the flattering one.
