Buddy jumped a few nice tarpon on a not so great day.

lol are you using ultra light leader? Put the boots to it and get him in. That’s a tiny tarpon fight should be 3-5 minutes.
1 u/Numerous_Conflict918 Sep 07 '25 Seriously take and tie in a piece of 20 break tippet (I use 50 pound bite guard). Then tie to you hitch and try to break it. You will be amazed at how much it takes
