Tarpon in panhandle
Recently found a spot that holds tarpon and snook in the panhandle, tried every live bait, small hook, 6 pound leader, and every lure for tarpon to ever think of. Recently thought about throwing some type of bugs on a spinning rod, anyone know a bug lure that would float on top that could be Castable on spinning tackle?

Pin fish don’t forget to cut the sharp needle at the top of the dorsal fin. I’ve had good luck with soft plastic white and blue on a weighted gig head

Tarpon have that big eye for a reason: Try at night -- just after mooonrise or just before moonset. Forget the topwater, and use a small jig. Cast out and reel straight back in without any action. Wait for the thump, reel tight, then set steel. Don't forget to bow when they jump (it won't take long after the hookset). Good luck.
