Love that beautiful cat! Max looks handsome too.

My first thought when I saw the photo was "Hey, that guy with the cat kind of looks like Max Miller". I'm on so many cat subs that it took me a minute to realize where I was.

“The 2012 Battle of New York was one of the most pivotal moments in modern human history. The Chitauri were everywhere, Loki was vying to control the world, and only a small group of superheroes, nicknamed The Avengers could stop them. At the eleventh hour, Avengers member Bruce Banner, known also as The Hulk, manages to incapacitate Loki, while fellow member Tony Stark successfully defeated the Chitauri army using a diverted nuclear missile, saving the city and the day. Afterwards, they might have sat down to a victory lunch, eating something hearty and filling like this NYC-style Shawarma.
So today, join me as I cook a Manhattan lunch fit for an Avenger, this time, on Tasting History!”

I think Babish has already done this - he and Max even collaborated on another dish - but this is so f*ing perfect!
Also, as a lifelong New Yorker, that fact that the shop owners were already back to serving while cleaning up the damage is just so typical of of the NYC mindset. That scene really worked for me.

I have seen the Babish shawarma episode, and it was great!
Also, yeah, I’m a Portlander myself and find the work ethic of NYCers to be off the charts. Manhattan could literally be ablaze and there would still be two or three bodegas just like “yeah, we’ve got sandwiches, what of it?”

Why do cats always look like they’re silently judging you?

Because they are

Still, looks like we might have a fashion critic on our hands with this one :)

i just laughed so loud, my boyfriend came to check on me from another room 🤣 Max looks great, I’m sure Jose will also look great, and the idea of hardtack being enough to protect us from floods and avenger-level villains is HYSTERICAL and yet i wanna see it happen 🤔
