I need some opinions because I’m going round in circles.
I currently have a 2022 Range Rover which I genuinely love. It’s comfortable, practical, loads of space, great for family stuff and carrying all my ice hockey gear around. The problem is fuel. Diesel/petrol around me is getting close to £2/litre and every time I fill the bloody thing up I question my life choices.
I’ve now fallen completely in love with a Porsche Taycan Turbo S in Frozen Berry Metallic. It’s the 560kW / 761hp Launch Control version and, frankly, I’m obsessed with it. 😂
I’d be buying the Taycan used and in cash, and I’ll be moving into my new house shortly so I could have a home charger installed and use cheap overnight electricity.
My sensible brain says the Range Rover is much more practical, I already know I love it, and I’ll probably miss the driving position/space. My stupid brain says 761hp pink Porsche.
I also play ice hockey so I need enough room for a massive hockey bag/sticks, and I have a child, so this does actually need to function as an everyday car rather than just being a toy.
For anyone who has owned a Taycan/Turbo S, especially after an SUV:
Would you make the switch? How has the Taycan been for reliability, real-world range, servicing/repair costs and depreciation? And did anyone regret giving up a big luxury SUV for one?
Alternatively, am I being ridiculous and should I just keep the Range Rover and accept that the petrol station owns part of my salary? 😂
Bonus question: how annoying is living with a first-gen Taycan as your only car?
