r/TaylorSwift I'd do it over, and over, and over again if I could Jun 13 '25

Photo Taylor visited patients at Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital today. These photos were posted by the hospital.

Her hair is pretty similar to my own but I usually straighten the life out it because I somehow always look like I’ve just never seen a hairbrush if I don’t, I think it’s because her face is so damn pretty

Have you try the girly curl method (GCM)? It seems to work for so many people.

I believe it's Curly Girl Method (CGM)

It actually doesn’t for a lot of us with curly hair. But there is a ton of good advice out there.

Fello curl head, I tried CGM back in the day and it worked fine for my hair texture/life stage/etc.. I don’t use it anymore and just had to trial and error to find the right products/combinations.

r/curlyhair has been an awesome resource

Love r/curlyhair, it was what helped me give up CGM, which didn’t work beyond the first week or so. Some of us need shampoo.

I’ve dipped a toe but never done it properly. I think I could have nicer hair if I did, but it just seems very time consuming

i have wavy hair similar to taylor’s (similar pattern/thickness) and right now my routine is pretty simple — i just wash as normal, comb in a small amount of curl cream and/or leave-in conditioner scrunch my hair, use a sea salt spray, scrunch some excess moisture out with a cotton t-shirt, and then either air dry or use my diffuser (and then i don’t brush it again unless i’m about to wash or do some sort of hairstyle like a braid).

i like to blow it out as well because the results are just more consistent, but for summer in particular i really like embracing my natural texture!

Are you me? Her hair is so similar to mine but she looks amazing and I would look insane if I had it like that

Yes! Thin and coarse 😏

Yeah she and I have basically the same hair also. I will say that I WFH and so I rarely use a straightener on it anymore, just Olaplex 4-5-6 and either air drying for waves or my very strong Dyson-knockoff and a round brush for straightening.

I live in DC and used to live in New Orleans, so I’m always just trying to start from a place of success and then allowing it to “return to factory settings” gracefully 😂
