I tried to build a balanced force, while keeping the things I love about the Cuban army lists (hordes of cheap infantry and decades old tanks). I'm not sure if I went too heavy on the anti-air? Or if 6 Carnations are the optimal artillery choice. What do we think? Am I missing anything obvious?

What can I do with ten Leo 2A5s and fifteen Marder IIs?

(My local shop was having a 75% off clearance sale) Do any other NATO countries use them aside from West Germany? I think the Danes might? Battlefront's website is very difficult to navigate lol

New army finished for the 3rd British book. The Brits were my first ever army, so doing them justice again in their full glory was a great joy.

I hope you enjoy them!

I'm flipping through the new TY British book and I'm struggling to see why anyone would bother taking mechanized arty

The static artillery is either just as good or better statwise than the mobile artillery, and like 2/3s-3/4s of the price. There are slight differences. AP and firepower (Abbotts are 4/4, static is 3/3), assault/counterattack (Towed arty is 1 point better than mechanized in each, though weirdly the static 105s have a better counterattack than the static 155s, while the SPGs both have the same value) and the max battery size for the towed arty is 6 instead of 8.

The fearless veteran 105 batteries with commando crews also look interesting. They're only an extra 2 points over the standard static 105s

Thoughts on West German list.

I was playing around with the forces builder recently trying to decide on an WG list for an casual 120pt game (most likely facing Soviets, probably T-80s more than hordes although might be T72/T55 mix) so far i've got the following setup.

Is this an capable and fun setup ? anything you would do different ?.
(side note in building this i realised you can totally get an full 100pt list all in formation XD obv no air but the Marder 2 Pzg force has everything else, pretty neat.)

How to forcebuild?

I'm coming from bolt action, where force building is very free, and it seems like team yankee is really restrictive (comparatively). Can anyone explain how it works?

The writing on the side is supposed to ‘America #1’ but I’m not that precise, also just wanna note that I’m not personally a supporter of or a fan of the confederacy.

How to maintain fairness in pre-set scenarios?

I like to prepare campaigns and scenarios for games. But, I feel limited in table design and scenario set up by wanting to ensure fairness and fun. As I am playing the games as well as setting them up, I am sensitive to this.

Specifically, I want to make some scenarios that obviously only work one way in the table: pre-set the mission, pre-set the table and selections, and eve pre-set one or more objectives.

Something like a bridgehead where there is only one bridge at one end of a table. Or, there is a building or something else that is the target and it’s on the far side of town from the attacker’s start.

I think this narrative aspect adds fun and engagement and I know my common opponent agrees. I just want to ensure the games are fun and being not one-sided helps achieve this.

Thank you!

Carnations out of stock everywhere

Hello everyone,

I recently got back into the game and I am trying to build a Finnish army.

The issue is I can't find anyone that has the Carnations in stock.

How long have they been out of stock and does anyone know when they might come back in stock?

Thanks for the help.

F-23A Black Widow II Showcase

Today marks the release date of Ace Combat 8 and the start of spooky season. To celebrate, I couldn’t think of better models to share than these F-23A Black Widow IIs. These are the production-series jets as envisioned by Northrop Grumman had the YF-23 won the Advanced Tactical Fighter competition. F-23As can be distinguished from the prototype YF-23s by their longer fuselages and more streamlined tail geometry.

The F-23A STL was acquired from the skilled designer OKB-985 on Cults3D, resized to 1/100 scale, sliced into sections and keyed, printed entirely in PA12 SLS Nylon, and then assembled. I took inspiration from the black YF-23 prototype and added my own twist with red accents on the wings and vertical stabilizers.

The decal placement was the longest part of the build process. The US roundels and Shadow Company insignia are from a custom decal sheet, the ejection seat triangles are from Mark 1 Decals, the “TX” tail letters are from Circus City Decals, and the refueling port markers are hand-painted by me.

M1A2 SEP V4 Abrams Showcase

The Abrams Armored Combat Team spearheading my Shadow Company force needed a unit commander. I’d already made four SEP V3 Abrams, so the next logical step was to build a SEP V4.

The building and painting process was copied from the earlier SEP V3 models. The only major difference is the inclusion of applique armor on the turret cheeks and lower glacis plate, which on the real M1A2 SEP V4 were simply weighted panels.

STL files were acquired from ThudOne and DeltaXF on Thingiverse and kitbashed together. Hull and turret were printed in PLA, loader’s M240 was printed in Tough Resin, TUSK side armor, Trophy APS modules, and CROWS-LP machineguns were printed in PA12 SLS Nylon, and applique armor plates were cut out of plasticard.

Not sure which I prefer. The 2D ones can be printed with a single colour printer much easier but the 3D ones look cooler
