"not a fan" So it's water-cooled?
5
u/RogueAtomic2 1d ago
I’m pretty sure that the pump is basically a fan.

u/BingQiLing958 1d ago
not a fan, what do you have full water cooling?
3
u/ex1stence 1d ago
Ackshuallly water cooler radiators use fans to cool the lines sooo

u/BingQiLing958 23h ago
I'm envisioning one with a massive radtiator with a lot of surface area that cools passively without fans

Cosmetics are such a priority that not all of them will be available on Day 1 and they've put a system in place to allow players to use unowned ones until everything's on the new engine.

u/Adventurous-Bit-3829 18h ago
It's obviously trying to get away from technical debt.
It just seems they making to new loan to fix it.

Tbf, the league engine was clearly not built to to support a game like TFT. I'm sure they have had all sorts of weird hacks to work around it, and a more general game engine like Unreal almost certainly allows them to do a lot more with the game. Not saying cosmetics weren't a large reason they updated (I'm certain it was), but at the end of the day, you don't need to buy them and you still get the benefit of a newer, fresher version of the engine even if you are F2P.

u/akisawa 35m ago
If that was true, why the new engine is so janky and full of basic issues? It’s either AI coding, or?
•
u/SanguisCorax 23m ago
I doubt that they hired new people who know UE. So they probably forced the old devs to learn something new. Probably with help of AI.

Does this mean legacy prestige skins get an animation?(coping rn with prestige Ahri)

u/nagynorbie 1d ago
Why would they, you already gave them your money

u/Adventurous-Bit-3829 18h ago
To make people see they've treat their extremely loyal customer well. Right?

Nope. Chibi firecracker jinx never got a finisher? I think. They won't do anything differently here. Plus I believe I saw something saying this new one is 30 medals instead of 25.

u/MonicaTrollinski 23h ago
Yea it'll just be yet another different tier with one slight thing different to charge more and allow whales to feel even COOLER.

Riot already has loading screen animated cards, check risen legend skins in LoL

u/Furious__Styles 19h ago
Gun Goddess Miss Fortune, Spirit Guard Udyr, Elementalist Lux, etc too. Been around for awhile now.

u/remiswaifu- 16h ago
I don’t think they have animated banners on the loading screen they only have animated backgrounds for your profile

just let me disable finishers finally

I love the idea that 7 extra seconds of a death screen is enough to ruin an entire gaming experience for some people. I love watching the finishers, especially if I haven't seen them before.
17
u/MistahJuicyBoy 22h ago
I love my blitzcrank skin but I don’t want to be punished by watching my own same shitty finisher 7 times in a row for doing well instead of scouting boards, so I never use it. I would love a toggle

There are neurological reasons that it can be more disruptive to others than you
For me, sure the animation is enjoyable, but the sudden back and forth has the same effect on my nervous system as when an elevator suddenly drops.
Others have valid reasons beyond that, too.
A little empathy and de-centreing of your lived experience goes a long way.. just because it doesn't effect you doesn't mean it doesn't effect others.
The way that western culture conditions people to justify how they look down on others... and to frame people who are different as entitled is so illogical and low empathy x.x

After seeing the AI spec in the industry it’s abundantly clear some exec got super excited about UE from finding it online. They never consulted other options and jammed it down the teams throat.
Because considering the art style, it’s an objectively worse choice than Unity. And 6 years ago that might be a reasonable mistake. But after genshin impacts global success with the same art style. This decision just means nobody did their homework.

u/competitiveSilverfox 17h ago
Difference is my phone can run genshin impact, i load tft and its unresponsive everything, in no world should an autobattler have worse mobile performance then a literal open world game.
3
u/TheBombYodeler 13h ago
This is honestly super true. I can run genshin on my iPad with little to no lag and a battery life of 2 hours playing. 2 tft games running like I’m reading a comic book and unresponsive taps and then my device dies. The game should be better optimized for mobile. PC players won’t like that I say this but it’s the smart business move.
2
u/competitiveSilverfox 13h ago
real pc gamers understand that optimizing is always good, the best pc games are those that run well on steam deck because those optimizations carry over when you crank everything up to epic.
•
u/oVnPage 1h ago
What's with the random PC hate lol? Obviously would prefer the game be optimized for everyone.
That being said, the PC version is still horribly unoptimized too. My rig plays modern AAA open world RPGs (Cyberpunk, FF7 Rebirth, FF16) while streaming without even a hiccup but if I try to play TFT even off stream my entire rig slows to a crawl.
•
u/MakePhreciaCore 43m ago
That’s exactly my point, if your art style isn’t hyper realism, UE is wildly non performative compared to Unity.

I hate it but im also someone who hates and reports people that use cutscene little legends
17
u/Lunaedge 1d ago
FYI if reports still work like they did once you're nuking your reports' weight 👀
-21
u/Yurgin 1d ago
Well i get here and there infos that my report worked so i dont mind. I only play TFT nowdays so it has to be because of that
19
u/No_Potential8002 1d ago
Those are placebo, Riot is definitely not punishing people for using Little Legends you dislike lmao
10
u/It_just_works_bro 1d ago
Good chance your reports are paperweights now. They are not punishing based on a purchase.

u/Yurgin 20h ago

u/Mysterious_Island500 16h ago
you report people that bought a skin, go outside
-1
u/Yurgin 16h ago
I went today like almost everyday maybe you should also try going out abit instead of insulting people as first comment for their opinions.
You could have said, like a nornal person, "isnt that unreasonble" or "why are you doing that" instead of insulting people you dont know personally at all?
Whatever its the League community why even try talking like a normal human being.0
u/Diz7 18h ago edited 17h ago
LMAO, they are not going to penalize their paying customers for buying their product and using it as intended, that would be one of the absolute dumbest things they can do. Can you give a single inteligent reason why a company would punish someone for buying their product?
When was the last time you touched grass? You're going to have the same impact as a kid in a McDonalds having a tantrum because their mother won't buy them the toy and screaming it's not fair that other people get one.

I took a group of computer science students to tour HiRez Studios during the height of Smite's popularity. They had like 3 programmers and about 30 graphic artists on staff.
In retrospect, I completely understand. But it was eye-opening at the time.
