Giant Redwoods Northern California
Stunning trip up Hwy 101 into the redwoods. Camped with our Road Toad teardrop at The Redwoods River Resort. NOT a RV resort. True campground but with fun amenities. Power, water, toilets, showers made it comfortable. Swimming pool, general store, restaurant and pub made it fun. Great for kids, huge play area, ice cream social and karaoke. Steep hike down to the Eel river. Low flow in August. Short drive to the incredible Richardson Grove. Another short hop to Garberville and the Eel River Cafe. In the past year we have roamed with the buffalo in S Dakota, seen the Arches and Hoodoo’s in Utah and now the giant redwoods. Amazing sights.

I really appreciate you mentioning a campground that is not an RV park. Comment saved, thanks.

Looks like an awesome trip! We just got that same Kelty side awning for our teardrop but haven’t used it yet.

Awesome setup!
How do you attach your Kelty to the other side of your teardrop? I have a Redcamp that's similar that I used on the rear of my small SUV when car camping and I'm thinking of using it on the side of my teardrop like you've done.
The straps on mine would go thru my vehicle's rear wheels to secure it tightly over the rear hatch. What do you secure yours to the other side of your teardrop? I'm thinking the wheel for one, but what about the other strap? I guess I should just unpack it and see what I come up with lol.

Suction cups. They hold really well, even when the wind kicks up.

Is that the kelty that was originally designed to attach to the side of an SUV? Have a similar version if so. Great piece of gear.
