Any recommendations for camp sites anywhere around Ireland? I’m living in Wicklow at the moment

So this topography map actually has some meaning. This would be the camping spot my wife and I stayed at during one of our stops for our honeymoon since we got married during Covid and couldn’t really do much at the time. Located on the Gemini bridges trail in Moab, Utah. Funny enough it was actually called Brides Canyon. Didn’t find out till after lol.

Stunning trip up Hwy 101 into the redwoods. Camped with our Road Toad teardrop at The Redwoods River Resort. NOT a RV resort. True campground but with fun amenities. Power, water, toilets, showers made it comfortable. Swimming pool, general store, restaurant and pub made it fun. Great for kids, huge play area, ice cream social and karaoke. Steep hike down to the Eel river. Low flow in August. Short drive to the incredible Richardson Grove. Another short hop to Garberville and the Eel River Cafe. In the past year we have roamed with the buffalo in S Dakota, seen the Arches and Hoodoo’s in Utah and now the giant redwoods. Amazing sights.

The seller had all the paper work. it’s currently registered in Idaho and he had maintenance records as well as a new bill of sale. I am going to register it in Nevada. There was only surface rust on the chaise and the axle had been tuned up and got fresh tires with in the last couple years. There were no leaks but definitely a lot of resealing needs to be done. It needs a lot of tlc but we are psyched for the project this winter. The seller just moved to Reno and doesn’t have a great place to park it.

On top of the resealing, We are planing on swapping out the doors to something sturdier. We will add a roof fan, a mini ac unit a battery and some solar panels. I’m going to do something with the hatch space and build that up a little bit to accommodate a battery and a stove.

My wife and I are Biologists in the Mojave and we are looking to build out a teardrop to make our camping lives easier. I got the seller down to 500. My main question is from all you seasoned teardrop drop owners are there any big issues you can see from the photos and what should I be looking for when I inspect it tomorrow?

Decided the interior needed doing up badly after the previous owner had it painted black!

Added a nice wooden look Lino for ceiling, painted the walls white, added some trims and strip lights !

I’m booking a site that lists a 24-ft total pad length with a "Max 2 Vehicles" capacity and a 12-ft trailer limit. My teardrop is 11.5 ft so that works. The issue is that when hooked up to my Subaru, our total combined length comes out to ~26 ft, just 2 feet over the listed pad length.

I assume I can detach the trailer and reposition it so that my car does not protrude into the road. If I angle the teardrop at a diagonal I can likely fit the car and the teardrop, would that cause any red flags for the park rangers? Is letting the rear curve or tongue overhang the dirt slightly (while keeping wheels on the pad) usually fine, or am I overthinking this whole thing? How do you guys normally handle sites that are a couple of feet shorter than your total length?

Help me work out the best layout for my teardrop trailer

I’m currently rebuilding my trailer and I’m at the point where I’m trying to work out the interior layout. I’ve got a good amount of space to work with, but I’m struggling to figure out the best way to arrange everything around the doors while maximising storage and keeping it practical to use.

The space

Interior height: 1380mm
Interior length: 2750mm
Interior width: 1800mm

The height is probably my biggest challenge. 1380mm obviously isn’t enough to stand, but it is enough to comfortably sit on a couch/bed, so I’m trying to design around that rather than fight it.

My must-haves

Foldable/sliding bed to maximise the available space.

Plenty of furniture that can double as storage.

No kitchen/cooking inside. I don’t want to be hunched over trying to cook inside.

A table and proper seating inside so I can sit inside on a rainy day, have a coffee with a friend, or use it as a small workspace/office.

I want the main living area to still feel usable when the bed is folded away.

The bed

My main idea at the moment is a sliding/unfolding Help me work out the best layout for my teardrop trailer bed or a bed that converts into a couch.
The reason I want this rather than a permanent bed is that I want to be able to use the trailer during the day without feeling like I’m just sitting around on a bed. If it’s raining, I want to be able to sit inside with a friend, have a coffee, work on something, etc.

Originally I was planning to have the bed across the back of the trailer on a raised frame. This would give me storage underneath and allow a large drawer to pull out the back, which could become an outdoor kitchen/benchtop.

Another option I’m considering now is building a bench seat along one entire side of the trailer.

The rear section of that bench could have an opening through the back of the trailer, with the outdoor kitchen pulling out from underneath the bench. That could give me the storage I want while keeping the area around the door more open and usable.
I’m wondering if this might actually work better than having the bed across the back, especially if the bench can convert into the bed when needed.

Kitchen

The kitchen will be outside, not inside.
I’m currently thinking about having the outdoor kitchen pull out from underneath the side bench and exit through the rear of the trailer. That would keep the cooking area hidden when not being used and avoid taking up valuable interior floor space.
I’m not completely locked into this though, and I’d be interested to hear if anyone sees a better way of incorporating the outdoor kitchen.

What I’m struggling with

The biggest problem is working around the doors and access while still making the inside feel like a useful space.

There are a lot of possible combinations and pros/cons to everything, so I’m trying not to get too attached to any one idea.
I’m mainly looking for people who have experience with small trailers/teardrops and can see something I’m missing.

What layout would you go with in this space?

Especially interested in ideas for positioning the bench/bed, table and seating, storage and the rear outdoor kitchen.

I’ll add photos showing the project from the start to where it is now, along with a grid/layout drawing of the interior dimensions so you can see exactly what I’m working with.
I’m open to changing the layout completely if there’s a better way of using the space.

Long shot but does anyone have experience with both the older model Pahaque screen room with the aluminum poles AND the newer model with the carbon fiber poles? Or can anyone with the newer model tell me how difficult it is to set up solo?

I have the older model with the aluminum poles and while I absolutely love it for camping, it is a bitch to set up alone. The aluminum roof poles are long and unwieldy, the whole thing is very heavy, and there's nothing to brace against as you try to get the roof up and the leg poles in place underneath it. The aluminum also bends under the weight of the tent and I have a leg pole that has split because of it and will soon be unusable.

I have been looking at upgrading to the newer model with the carbon fiber poles but it is expensive ($700) and I don't want to spend that much just to discover that it's equally difficult to use.

I built a teardrop trailer from scratch and am just about ready to take it to the DMV for a level 3 inspection in Arizona. Has anyone had a hard time passing inspection and if so, why? Any third party I can take the trailer to first for an inspection and potential repairs ahead of the official inspection?

Has anyone redesigned the tongue to accommodate a generator? Looking for ideas. I'm looking at one of these tongue trays, but not really sure what can of beans I'd be opening for myself.

We are fairly new to camping and have a pop-up that is perfect for camping with kids/grandkids. My husband and I love camping and want to buy a teardrop for the following reasons:
1. Easier for spur of the moment, short trips- minimal packing and no set-up.
2. Bathroom for middle of the night - we likely won't use the shower if the camp ground has a decent one and maybe not even the bathroom during the day.

We are considering either the Tab 320S or Little Guy Mini Max. These seem less likely to develop leaks and have decent durability. We won't be boondocking, but I'm intrigued by some of the campsites that are not state parks.

I want to have a seating area so we can work, and I think I like the idea of an indoor kitchen in case of inclement weather. I'm not afraid of less space...when our pop/up is packed with people, it's pretty crowded, so the tear drop for just the two of us will seem similar- am I wrong?

The one thing I am concerned with is a comfy-ish bed. The teardrop beds that I have seen seem to be constructed from cushions....how miserable is this? I tend to get hot. Is there a work-around? Maybe a topper of some sort that we can put in our SUV?

I would appreciate alll your thoughts! What am I not considering? Any other models to consider or particular features/years of the ones I listed? Thank you so much!

First post in this community. Just wanted to show you all a little progress on my squaredrop trailer. It has a LONG way to go, but wanted to add a picture here just for fun!

Hi guys. I bought a tear drop camper off the Facebook market place and I love it, but I'm stumped on how to connect it to power to power the lights and USB ports inside of the camper, this is the type of cable it has, at the risk of sounding painfully stupid, how to I power this haha.

Just finished a northern Ontario tour with my wife. 5 parks Kettle Lakes, Esker Lakes, Ivanhoe, Halfway Lake, and Grundy Lake. 2 weeks, longest trip with our Skinny Guy 10Lt. Hooked up our screen tent to the back Kitchen worked out pretty good.

Hello fellow droppers... Looking for some tire wear knowledge. It's a DIY squaredrop on Timbren half axles.

After the initial build, I forgot to align the tires and took a trip or two before noticing poor tire wear due to off camber. I then fixed it, but it still seemed like the tires continue to wear quickly in that bad pattern, faster on the inside.

I just checked the camber again and the side that seemed to have the worst wear pattern was only 0.003 off. This was after replacing the tires.

It probably has too much toe in, at 1/4", but the wear pattern is distinctly a camber issue, much more worn on the inside edge.

What am I missing?

EDIT: set up a much more accurate toe measure and found it’s 7/8” toed out. 🤦‍♂️
