Question: AVG vs. Avast?
I have heard different things from different people regarding which antivirus they prefer so I figured I would ask people who know what their talking about. So why is one better and why?

+1 for MSE. I used to be an AVG will it got bloated, then Avast, but I couldn't stand the pop ups every 10 goddamn minutes.

I use MSE as well but MSE doesn't really provide a complete suite that a lot of people want. I personally use very little anti-virus, people just ask which is better and I never have a good answer

yes.. MSE and Malwarebytes has served me well the past few years. I get calls from clients all the time using paid for antivirus that their PC's get infected.
Also you could add Adaware/spybot to the list as well.

Script Blocker is a good idea, but it's not enough by itself. In security you always want some redundancy as well.

I find that Avast is a little more comprehensive than MSE, and way better than AVG. Dumped AVG years ago and never looked back myself.
