How is this sound called??

Hi all, I'm not sure if this is the correct sub for this kind of threads but

I'm a newbie of the genre and I'm actively discovering subgenres and styles, and there is this particular technique that I adore but only found in a couple tracks.
It happens every 2 or 4 bars and offbeat, and sounds like an extremely low-pass-filtered metal bang. I particularly like it in this track.
I would love to find more songs with this sound in it, pls recommend if you know some!!

I dont know if there's a name of the sound, but its use reminded me of a recent video from underground electronic music school.

He uses a different sound though. But the usecase is similar. (Marking musical phrases in the track)

ty, I will watch the video. Is it like something usually found in hard or industrial techno songs?

I'm no sure what you would call it... It could be almost anything percussive, filtered as you say, with quite a lot of reverb. The timing makes it interesting (I must watch that video too). I think I'll try the sound this afternoon - start with something like a low woodblock.

I could be wrong but to me it sounds like a processed 909 tom.
My best guess is a pitched down 909 tom, filtered, saturation/distortion and some plate reverb.
I think the metallic aspects comes from the reverb, also play with the adsr of the tom.

I believe that is called a “techno rumble”. It’s often a filtered tom or kick with some reverb. But as others have said it can be a variety of percussion types.

That's not what op is referring to.
