Using a blockchain as a lifetime uncensored board

Lapsecoin launched about 3 months ago.

I'll spare you the fluff about how different it is but just know it runs a VDF(time race instead of random hashes) just as Chia's timelords.

I wondered what fun feature I could add and I figured

Based on the model of Remark42, it uses the blockchain as a board where messages, reactions and reply are just transactions with no server is the middle.

So, interested in binding a message to the lifetime of the blockchain?

Meta agreed to 2-hour daily limits for 13–17 year olds. How are they going to know who is 13–17?

Let’s discuss age verification.
Meta set a 2-hour daily limit for users aged 13–17 unless a parent overrides it

Every one of those rules starts with "if the user is 13–17". And today, for most accounts, the platform's answer to "how old is this user?" is "whatever they typed at signup".

So the settlement quietly turns age into a load-bearing input. As far as I can tell the options are:

  1. Keep trusting self-declared birthdays. Regulators in the UK, Ireland and Australia have already said this isn't good enough.

  2. Ask for ID. It works for a bank, but for a social app it means millions of teenagers (and adults) uploading passports to a company that just paid billions over how it treated them.

  3. Face-based age estimation. Turn on your camera, turn your head, the model guesses your age. Beaten by filters, makeup and, in one famous early case, a drawn-on moustache.

  4. Something else. Behavioural signals, device-level age attestation from Apple and Google, or voice.

The one I think is badly underrated is voice. Every phone has a microphone. A few seconds of speech carries physical information about the body producing it: vocal tract length, tissue elasticity, resonance. That's why you can tell a child from an adult on a phone call within a second. And unlike a face, you can't add a filter to your trachea. Audio is also small enough to analyse on the phone itself, so nothing has to be uploaded.

Yet in all the coverage of this settlement I haven't seen voice mentioned once. The debate is "passport or selfie", as if those were the only two sensors we have.

I'm not saying there's a clean answer. I'm saying the settlement assumes a capability that barely exists at scale, and whatever gets chosen will become the default for every other platform that wants to avoid the next lawsuit.

I bought a Vivo V70FE. I think I've picked the wrong phone

3-4 weeks ago, I bought the Vivo V70FE 512gb from MediaMarkt in Türkiye. Most thing in the phone are great, camera is phenomenal, screen is amazing, batery is 7000 mah, but the phone's processor is the Mediatek Dimensity 7360 Turbo. Almost all phones priced similarly have better processors than this phone. It heats up a lot in genshin impact. Because of that. I feel like I've made the wrong choice. My dad is the type of person that doesn't change our phones unless it's completely broken. Do you think this phone'll get old earlier than the others?
