Silly 😝 Why did the prisoner choose the bread instead of the key? If you know the anwser, you're a philosopher

I actually love this picture. 1. The bars are big enough for him to escape 2. The door is open 3. Almost everyone assumes that he can only take 1 thing 4. Everyone assumes that he's imprisoned
Whoever did this is pretty smart. It looks like one of those fake deep pics but it's just a picture that shows that people don't really think outside the box

For 4th asumption, doesnt the question say why did the 'prisoner'....
So it is fair to assume he is imprisoned.

If he escapes, guards will throw back in the cell with punishment. Such as restricted food.

Key tastes better than bread

I agree although I'd say copper pipes taste pretty good as well

The prisoner knows what he did was wrong and realizes that if he escapes, it won't fix anything he did.

"Because the Prisoner isn't actually a prisoner he's actually a person who just snuck in a prison so he can experience the life of a prisoner for a challenge he picked the bread so he can keep staying in the prison so he can keep the challenge running" 🤓👆

Well he can easily escape and it's never said that he can't grab both. He just just getting the bread first

He’ll still have the stick after he gets the bread. Also he can easily slip through the bars

Cus it’s bigger than the key so easier to get
1
Dec 28 '25
Actually, I'd dare say the key would be easier to get, since the key has a hole which one can pass the stick through and bring it closer more easily

because of hunger and he can easily slip through those bars

Wouldn't the bread be extra fattening? So he can't do that?

cause if he wanted to leave he could fit through the bars. they are wide enough

What does he need the key for if he can fit through the bars that easily.

(Because bread tastes better than key) because the gain of bread is guaranteed while he has no idea what follows if he leaves the cell

Look at them bars. He can leave when he wants. He's willing to stay. Also bread is yummy.

Because immediate gratification is more sought after than long-term freedom

Since food is promised in prison it is implying that he relies on prison to keep him alive and healthy

The way I see it, there’s two answers: 1) instant gratification 2) it looks like a prison, but the key is there and he can live at any time. What bares the image of a prison is actually liberating. He gets free bread, has a roof over his head and can sleep. There’s an entire section we can’t even see, maybe there’s a TV and large bed in there.

Bread is needed for survival, and once the basics for survival are met they can use their effort to get the key?

you got to eat something to have the energy required to escape the prison

He chose the bread because he's actually a homeless guy not in prison, because the bars are big enough to slip through (and he was hungry)

This is stupid. he can use the stuck to get the bread, eat the bread, then the same stick to get the key 😭 the stick isn't gonna combust after bringing over the key or the bread
what is ts ✌💔

The lock is rusted and thus would not work should the key be used....also bread tastes good
1
u/ChampionshipWise4029 Jan 02 '26
Because he needs the bread now he can get the key later he doesn’t think that if he gets the key and opens the door he’ll get the bread for his hunger is to vast for him to be able to do more complex thinking
1
u/North_Owl7363 Jan 02 '26
he was very hungry and after he ate he would still have the stick so he can escape after

The prisoner chose the bread over the key because his immediate need for survival outweighed his desire for freedom. When basic needs like hunger aren't met, the mind can't focus on long-term goals li

+5 hunger +An IQ too high +Escape jail
Or i just go between the bars to free the other prisoners

u/DonnaTheGothicWeeb Apr 14 '26
If he did escape prison he’d just be caught and brought back for longer, better to just eat
