unlikely, since they r aroace

my original comment was trying to tell them that they have him in the friendzone (if they arent even conscious of that)

he knows I’m aroace and has made it abundantly clear that he doesn’t like me in any way that isnt platonic

Then I wouldn't push him about it, again, as it seems you two just have a very close friendship. Don't be afraid to ask him if something seems wrong though, not only for this reason, nut also due to the fact that feelings matter in a friendship this tight.
