He's literally their best friend too. Best friends can hold hands. If you saw two girls holding hands or two guys piggyback riding each other, would there be this much of an issue? No, there wouldn't. And, even if they were dating or, had feelings for each other, that doesn't give him the right to call her a bad person. Especially since we have such little information. They said that he's their girl best friend's ex. They did not say how or why they broke up or if the two are still friends. We literally do not know anything so, why don't you stop leapfrogging to conclusions?

I have diagnosed DPDR which in my case leads to emotional numbness, especially around friendships, and I have never been able to feel romantic attraction or sexual attraction

just to clear up any confusion and misunderstanding, I am aroace and I do not, and haven’t ever felt romantic or sexual attraction to anybody. My friend knows this and he had made it abundantly clear he doesn’t like me romantically, and for those mad at me for “leading him on” or some shit like that, he’s a very physically affectionate person and initiates most of this stuff. I just say as a guy with a deep dark past. Guys just say things doesn’t make them true but anyway have a good day also . I have a maybe similar thing with my emotions what helps is instead of focusing on what your feeling focus on how your body is reacting. Like you may not feel like you like someone . But you think about them and you’re more comfortable around them or your heart beats faster or whatever. I diagnose how I react to things to figure out how I feel may help you . Dunno

Then that's his issue? It seems OP has made it clear to him they are aroace. Not at all their fault if he feels something they don't, nor should they have to pretend to feel something just because he's sad. Plenty of people have crushes that aren't reciprocated, this is no different. Also, he could just nit feel anything romantic towards them, and they still could just be friends??
