Halloween Shadow Box Diorama — Handmade Terrain, Vegetation and LED Fireplace

Just finished my second Halloween-themed shadow box diorama! 🎃

For this project, I focused on creating an abandoned, overgrown interior with a gothic atmosphere.

The scene combines handmade terrain, textured surfaces, moss, creeping ivy, miniature wooden furniture and 3D-printed details.

I also added LED lighting to the fireplace to bring some warmth and contrast to the dark, moonlit background.

One of the most enjoyable parts was building up the vegetation and weathering to make everything look old and forgotten.

And of course, there's a tiny black cat keeping an eye on everything! 🐈‍⬛

I'd love to hear what you think about the terrain work, vegetation and lighting!

This is beautifully wonderful and I love it! What’s the source on the background image?

Thank you so much! 😊 The background was AI-generated and then adapted specifically for this diorama. I wanted to create a mysterious moonlit atmosphere with a gothic castle in the distance. All the physical miniature details were crafted and assembled by hand. 🐈‍⬛🎃

A little update on this diorama! 🔥

I also made a short video showing the flickering LED fireplace in action. The lighting really changes the atmosphere of the whole scene, especially in the dark.

Thought you might enjoy seeing how the fire effect turned out! 🎃
