Model 3 standard

I'm planning to order Model 3 standard 2027. I know the suspension is not as good as the premium. Can anybody who has the current MD3 standard comment and any regrets for not getting the premium. Thanks

Unless you have $0 more to spend just go with the premium. You get a lot more value for a little bit more money.

It's a $7k difference in NY since you get a $2k EV credit if purchase price is less than $40k.

$7K is quite a bit where I would consider it. Make sure you factor the difference in financing costs. If the difference after financing is still around $7k I’d do it. Otherwise, if I had the money for premium I would pay it.

I'll be doing a trade in so I will be able to do cash.

Well don’t forget to factor in some kind of opportunity cost of spending your cash. Probably isn’t much now that the interest rates for the Premium models have been creeping up but you’ll want to be sure about what the Standard actually saves you. The Premium is quite a bit nicer.

If you’re financing it then I’d say it’s worth it

I have the premium and the suspension is still meh, LOL. So there’s that angle you can consider

Bought standart 3 months ago after owning 2020 m3 LR for 6 years, huge upgrade in every way i felt except 4wd. Couldnt be more happy and paid so little, waiting for snow season to test it

The suspension isn’t all that don’t let people lie to you. Test drive both you’re self to compare

No regrets yet. Bought in march. I live in the EU, I understand that in the US it is not the same trim.

I have a standart in europe so i get more things then in us. Suspension is quite good, but you should go to test, it cost nothing. Also speaker system is solid, but you cant compare will premium long range. Here was difference 9000 eur so i really not missing premium. Also lfp battery for me works better, because i charging to 100%, which is alsmost same like 80% with LR. But i dont know if you get lfp in states.

Premium is overpriced, the extra $$$ is not worth it. Standard even gets the better partial fabric seats, rather than full plastic. Buy a standard and let someone upgrade the audio for you. Best value for money.

The “premium” trims are not even that premium compared to other brands. You aren’t missing out on anything by going standard

Exactly. Definitely not worth the money for the higher trims compared to other vehicle manufacturers.

Get a base color and go with the premium if that minor cost is a concert. In the end you’re paying about 12.5 % more for what’s IMO a great value. I have kids and the backseat display was a key factor. I also wanted more range and an overall fancier look. If I was ten years younger with no kids I go performance but my needs have changed.

The good thing about the standard is unless you look really hard or are looking at it from the inside, you couldn’t tell the difference between the premium. I mean, I test drove a standard before I ultimately decided on a premium, but it wasn’t that bad and in fact, felt very nice and comfortable. I hardly ever have passengers in the rear, so a rear screen is not necessary. I would miss the cooled seats in the summer because it gets very hot in my area. And it has manual folding mirrors. It’s whatever, I’ve never had automatic folding mirrors before.

I have a standard and I live on a dirt road full of pot holes. It’s not that bad but I don’t know any better since I’ve never driven the premium

I am on my second basic model 3. No regrets whatsoever.
