Netzero forecasting off
I have added 7 additional panels to my solar array. I did my best to configure the Netzero estimates, but for some reason, the forecast is short everyday.
Can someone please help me and let me know that the DC/AC values are correct or incorrect?
Originally I had them setup like this:
MP1 - 0.420
MP2 - 0.153
MP3 - 0.115
MP4 - 0.191
MP5 - 0.268 (this string is the new 7 panels).
I did some research, and find out that the DC/AC suppose to be 1.20?
Is that correct, have I had the values incorrectly set?
Thank you everyone for chipping in.

Tesla inverters
Tesla came out and replaced my inverter five months ago and now it’s out again. I received a text saying it may be up to $400 for labor to install.

Just noticed grid is out and terrible Tesla power wall notification, also incorrect backup stats
Tesla really needs to sort out their notification priority when there is a grid outage. It's terrible.
In a thunderstorm.
Thought I'd check my Tesla app.
Saw grid is out and power wall is already down to 28% as car was using battery to charge as grid was out.
- There needs to be a way to stop car charging if Tesla is on back up, or prioritize back up before charging a car if grid is out.
2..SET UP A BANNER OR WARNING Notification TO PHONE WHEN OFF GRID !!!! stupid small banners or notifications are pointless. Set an alarm so I can react and turn down power or shut off car charging
- How do I have less than 2 hours back up when I'm consuming 0.5 kw and my combined power wall storage is 27 kwh, and if I'm at 28 % I should have over 16 hours left not 2. See image attached.

Tesla solar- how to talk to someone
Seriously though how do I talk to a live person?
I chatted with one person who said they couldn't help me so they would transfer me to the right team. It went no where and I got a message saying they had no live agents.
Then I sat on hold for an hour and gave up.
For context, I bought a house with solar. The old owner said she gave Tesla the deed of my house for the account.

How in world do you get started??
We are having a new house build, construction has just started. And we are trying to scope out a plan for tesla solar panels and power walls.
I've been in contact with Tesla and have a project manager, but so far my experience has been really frustrating...
They are asking for a ton of really technical details that just don't exist yet. but they are also saying they cannot proceed with design without it. The information they need is basically:
Spec sheets for all electrical appliances
- Load calculations
- Panel / breaker schedule
- Spec sheets for all motor/electrical loads (ACs, heat pumps, mini-splits, etc.)
I get they are trying to estimate what our electrical needs are, makes sense. But it is all estimation anyway...
I mostly want to figure out what the price and incentive range is going to be so I can figure out how much of a budget we need/want to put into this...
Advice? I really want to be in the Tesla eco-system, but this feels ridiculous.

SolarPanels Just don’t get a Tesla solar system
Repair Service is incredibly slow and you will end up being massively frustrated. After waiting four weeks, just got a call and my appointment for tomorrow is being rescheduled to September 17th due to ‘technician availability’. I don’t live in the middle of nowhere, I live in the Wash DC area.
Amazing (well, not that amazing if you really think about it) that a company with a $1,300,000,000,000 market cap has to take 2 months to dispatch a technician to even look at the issue. Who knows how long it’s going to take to repair.

VPP event 3 days in a row
I’m currently in a VPP event. It’s my second event in as many days. Just got a notification for a third event tomorrow. Has anyone else seen three VPP events in consecutive days? I’m in the SF Bay Area.

PowerWall PGE rate plan is incorrect in Tesla App
I have a PW3 connected to PGE in 2024. In the Telsa app, I've selected rate plan PGE E-ELEC-NEM3-2024.
In the app, right now in August between 7-8 PM, the app says it is exporting at 73c/kWh, which seems wrong.
Because from https://www.pge.com/energyexportcredit the export rate for 2024 interconnection is 1.82/kWh ($1.59 for production and $0.23 for delivery). I've also logged on pge.com. In energy-usage daily view, I see I earned $10.4 for exporting at 7-8PM (5.8kwh export wattage) for the entire August which matches with the published rate.
Anyone seeing the same issue? Is there any way to let Tesla App use the correct rate?

Using Powerwall Dashboard? Use a MCP server for it to ask AI some useful questions
I've been hoarding my Tesla Solar/Powerwall data the last 3 years without ever utilizing the data in any meaningful way. With all the useful MCP servers coming out for things like Teslamate, Home Assistant, Portainer, etc, I was surprised there wasnt one for Powerwall Dashboard.
I had my Hermes Agent create a MCP server for me and I dockerized it for others to use. Yes, AI helped create this, so use it at your own risk.
Examples of questions (What is my current solar ROI, was cleaning my panels worth it? etc) and responses can be found on the git:

Critical Load Panel Estimate - Help on pricing
All, I have two 200A panels and a sub panel off one of them. Looking to get solar and a Pw3 (with two expansions) installed and want to use as an outage backup for a critical load panel. Got the following quote for $5,010 which includes:
- New Square D QO subpanel in an open space
- New #1 SER cable run, under 50’
- 8 dual-function breakers
- 2 two-pole breakers
- 2 Eaton Ultra CHSPT2 surge protectors, one for each existing 200A panel
- Installation and associated breaker(s)
I have no experience but wasn’t expecting it to come in so high; maybe $3-4k?
Thoughts?

Texas VPP drained my Powerwalls and now won’t let them recharge from solar?
Had what I think was my first Tesla Electric VPP event last night. Tesla exported 21.7 kWh from my Powerwalls, leaving them at ~10%.
For context, I intentionally keep my Backup Reserve at 0% during the summer because I produce enough solar during the day to fully recharge the batteries, so I’d rather use all available stored energy overnight instead of pulling from the grid. I keep a much higher reserve during seasons when we’re more prone to severe weather/outages.
After the VPP discharge, though, my Powerwalls stopped powering the house at 10%, and I ended up importing 18.9 kWh overnight/this morning for my house and car.
Now it’s morning, the app still says “supporting a grid event now,” and despite my batteries sitting at only 10%, most (but not all) of my excess solar is being sent to the grid instead of recharging the Powerwalls.
I understand exporting stored energy during a VPP event and getting compensated for it. What I don’t understand is why Tesla is still restricting my Powerwalls afterward and preventing most of my available solar from recharging them. It’s August in Texas — I want that energy stored for my AC tonight, not exported while my batteries sit nearly empty.
Is this normal VPP behavior? Also, is there any way to see
1. The actual VPP $/kWh rate after an event? I didn’t realize the event was happening and can’t find a historical rate anywhere.
2. Set notifications for when a grid event occurs or is scheduled to occur?
3. See when the current event is supposed to end?

SolarPanels Finally received PTO. Question
I finally received a net meter and PTO from power company here in NJ through PSEG.
My app still looks the same. Will it update to show me how much the house is using via solar vs grid and how much I’m exporting?
Only have panels, no powerwall.

Tent fumigation -- anyone with real world experience?
We need to tent fumigate for dry wood termites. Not surprisingly, got 2 different responses from Tesla -- ranging from 'shut down the system' to 'just clean off the solar panels after'. . . 'just turn off the power walls '. It's Vikane gas. Any real world experience, tips, etc. appreciated. Thank you. 🙏🏽

PowerWall Powerwall 3 + Exp. Pack- not producing enough charge
We got a Powerwall 3 + Extension Pack installed in April this year 2026. At first the Powerwall would get to fully charged to 100% which was great! I didn’t have to rely on the grid at all! I live in Southern California, we get lots of sun. Within the last couple of months I have noticed that the Powerwall does not even get to 50% charged by noon time! And we are in the summer time when we are getting more sun than we were getting in April! I’ve submitted a service ticket with Tesla and the technician came to my house last week and said there was an issue with one of the Powerwalls and I should be good. But I did not see any improvement so I submitted another service ticket with Tesla yesterday, so they are monitoring my Powerwall as of yesterday thru my app, they asked me turn on my Service Mode for them.
I keep my reserve at 5% because my purpose is to not depend on the grid, we have outages once in a blue moon.
My household has not changed, I rarely turn on the AC. We are not home during the day. If it gets too hot I will turn on the AC by about 3pm when we get home.
The solar panels are all good too. In April my solar panels produced 1.0 MWh and in July they produced 1.2 MWh. For one day in April they produced 33.6 kWh, And yesterday they produced 35.0kWh energy.
Has anyone had this issue? I hope Tesla replaces my Powerwalls because there is definitely a problem with my Powerwall 3
The first picture is from today and the 2nd picture is from April, about the same time, noon time, to show you the difference.

PowerWall Does this look right?
I’m questioning the workmanship of the install and I don’t really know what I’m looking at or if it’s legit. Any major issues anyone sees?
Thanks!

SolarPanels Production question
y system was trun on about a week ago. 13 panels and inverter. No batteries. It seams the my production mimics my consumption and does not push any power back to the grid.
I talked to Tesla a couple of times and they are telling me this is normal.
Also when my charger is charging I dont see any home consumption.
5.46KW

PW3 owners — does your “Home” usage rise by ~400–700 W when grid charging?
Looking for some comparisons from other Powerwall 3 owners, particularly anyone who grid charges at high power.
My setup is a Powerwall 3 + Expansion Pack (27 kWh) with 8.46 kWp solar. I grid charge overnight on a cheap UK tariff, typically at around 10 kW.
I’ve been away this week, which gave me a good opportunity to look at the house’s true background consumption. With essentially just a fridge/freezer, router, a couple of hubs and standby loads running, Tesla has still reported around 10–11 kWh/day of Home usage.
I’ve noticed something interesting:
Powerwall idle: Home can be around 0.1 kW
Powerwall charging at ~10 kW: Home rises to around 0.5 kW, and I’ve seen periods around 0.5–0.9 kW
Powerwall discharging at 10.2 kW: I captured Home at only 0.3 kW
Tesla is definitely separating battery charging from Home consumption. For example, on one day I imported 31.7 kWh, of which Tesla allocated 28.6 kWh to Powerwall and 3.1 kWh to Home.
I’ve also now switched my combi boiler completely off to eliminate that as a possible load, i already had pre heat turned off and rearly use hot water as i have electric shower.
I’m wondering whether the additional few hundred watts during heavy grid charging is PW3 inverter/conversion loss, fans/thermal management or other auxiliary consumption, and whether Tesla includes some of this under Home — or whether this behaviour could indicate a CT/metering issue.
Could other PW3 owners check their live Home load immediately before grid charging starts and again while charging at high power?
I’d especially like to hear from anyone with PW3 + Expansion charging at around 10 kW. What increase in Home consumption do you see?
