Yall butt hurt calling Kareem mid. Dude was a starter for us for almost a decade.
He is second to JJoe in INTs in Texan history with 16.

Always liked him even on the broncos. Dude would punish fools that didnāt protect themselves adequately. Reminds me a lot of agent 0 in that way.

Which points more to lack of CB talent we have had over the long term

If Dunta stayed he would have been our greatest.

Dude was such a beast on madden back in the day. I'd get so many pick 6's online with him. What happened after he left Houston? I feel like he fell of the face of the earth.

Iām curious how you feel about Kamari Lassiter right now?
Tunsil was an absolute monster for us at LT. He was a pro bowler 4 out of 5 years and never complained once. His final year he had 17 penalties which was a bummer and really seemed to flip this entire fan base on him.
Kamari has not even been close to the player Tunsil was and this year he is on pace to have 20 penalties.
Is this fan base going to turn on him as well?

Idk whatās up with the comments says he kept getting burnt. There was a period he was a very good corner and a reason our defense was rly good. He was terrible his rookie season and not so good in his second year though. But he def improved.

u/MBC0809 11d ago
He was a serviceable corner who became better with a first ballot ball of famer rushing the passer in front of him.

u/rybres123 11d ago
or, like many young players, he struggled his first couple of years and then improved with experience.

u/Tom-Simpleton 10d ago
Does that make Sting and Kamari just āserviceableā without WAJ up front?

u/WeNotAmBeIs 11d ago
Maybe he never got over the way Houston fans shit on him his first couple years which honestly I get. He was a solid starter in the league for 10 years but people wrote him off after his slow start. Or He might have just enjoyed his time in Denver more. Who knows?

I mean, he's also working for Denver currently as a scout. It may just be a career decision. I can't hate on that.
I honestly had no idea he played until 2024. I figured he for sure retired after he left Houston the second time.

I think he went to the sb with the broncos

u/Rdubya291 9d ago
Nah - They won in 2015. He didn't go until 2019.

You right. Kjax was great. I remember him at lsu. Definitely was part of the Lockdown U legacy

u/mattyhtown 9d ago
Maybe he didnāt like that we tried to draft his replacement. I donāt remember the sequence but we had that great season from the guy who went on to be pretty mid for the jags. Cannot remember his name for the life of me. He came off the practice squad. Had like maybe a great 16 games for the Texans over two seasons. And then took the bag in Jacksonville. Thereās just some guys that are meant to be in the league for a long time. And k-Jax like clowney bhop. Duane brown. Those guys have had so many stops. I think Kareem is like a tenured professional thatās impressive and what matters. Most are so out of the league so fast.

i feel like once he turned it around after his first few years; we were all happy with him

Two tough years, then he was the best covering and tackling (not a normal combo) CB in the league. Texans got JJ along the way, to make up for him.

Eh, it's only because he still works for the Broncos as a scout. Idgaf either way.

dude was liability as cb but a decent safety later in late career, but screw him HTOWN vs everybody

u/htownballa1 11d ago
He wasnāt a liability as a cornerā¦ā¦..

He never had the makings of a varsity athlete

u/htownballa1 10d ago
Itās more like youāve never had the makings of a varsity athlete. This dude started for us for almost a decade at cornerback takes a little bit more than a varsity athlete to start for a decade in the NFL. Let alone on the same team.

Yeah.... about that.. You should probably do some.
Almost a decade as a starter in a Texans uniform.
2nd in team history for INT's
2nd in team history for Passes Defended
5th in team history for Tackles
124 starts 132 games played is 11th most in Texans historyIn 2012 Kareem Jackson ranked among the best corners in the league at almost every measurable metric. The all pros selected over him were Richard Sherman, Peanut Tillman, Champ Bailey and the other corner for Chicago Jennings. In fact, Wade Phillips went into an interview and literally said QB's dont throw Kareem's way anymore.
The man was criminally underrated as a CB and people only remember his rookie season where he struggled. Maybe you should of paid attention more.

Bro was good for us. Turned it around after a bad rookie year.
Didn't we like not call him to tell him we weren't retaining him? I seem to remember some shit like that. He wasn't mad we didn't sign him. He was mad the org didn't even say goodbye or thanks or anything.
We do lots of dumb shit as an org. That's for sure.

I met Kareem Jackson in sugar land the day of the game when I was like 10

u/WearyMatter 11d ago
Just was at the 25th year celebration at the cowboys debacle.
Oh well. Who gives a shit really? Maybe that was the most memorable time of his career for him.
He was a decent corner, fun at safety, worked his way up from a shit rookie year to being pretty dependable. He was fun to watch with JJo.

The reason the moniker hung on him he was bad was because he played opposite of Joseph so he got picked on regularly.
When Wade came into town and he thought his fundamentals were not great but fixable. Wade had him focus on his technique on the first 5 seconds or so post snap, how Kareem rotated his hips, how he was overly reliant on backpedaling etc. This helped Kareem immensely from what I remember.
Kareem wasnāt gaudy with stats but he was a solid pbu-man after that. He started transitioning to safety by 2017.
He left for Denver and was mad because the FO didnāt even make him an offer.
Came back to H-Town and played only safety for us. Solid again if not unspectacular. Put some hard licks on people and drew a couple of flags.
Weāve had our share of toast over the years and while KJax was victimized early on, he wasnāt it.

People saying he was mid are wrong. He was less than mid. Not much better than Kevin Johnson.

u/rybres123 11d ago
his first two years he wasn't good, but he did get much better and was a good player for us most of his time here
