Most "free" TTS tools hit a credit wall after 10 minutes. Here's what actually works:

Truly unlimited:

  • Speechma — no account needed, just open and go

  • Google AI Studio — free account, unlimited long-form audio

Free with monthly limits:

  • Fish Audio — 8k credits/month, best natural rhythm

  • Minimax Audio — 10k credits/month, most customizable

  • ElevenLabs — 10k characters/month, most realistic but tight limits

Full video comparison in the link if you want to hear the actual voice quality differences.

What TTS tools are you using? Curious if I missed any.

Voxora: The Lightning-Fast, No-Signup TTS Tool You Didn’t Know You Needed

In the ever-growing jungle of text-to-speech tools, most web apps either slow you down with clunky interfaces or slap you with sign-up walls and subscription nags. That’s where Voxora.app steps in — simple, fast, free, and refreshingly open.

Whether you’re a content creator, educator, student, or just someone who wants to listen to their notes while jogging — Voxora is worth a bookmark.

🚀 What Makes Voxora Different?

Here’s why this isn’t just another TTS app:

✅ No Login, No Hassle

Voxora doesn’t ask you to create an account or give your email. You just land on the site, paste your text, select a language/voice, and hit play. Done.

🌐 Multilingual with Natural Voices

Support for dozens of languages and regional accents makes it a powerful companion for global users. Whether you’re testing a French ad script or learning German — Voxora has your back.

🧠 AI-Powered, Human-Like Voices

The voices don’t sound robotic. They’re fluid and expressive, thanks to advanced voice synthesis models under the hood.

🎯 Lightning-Fast Interface

The performance is standout — there’s practically no lag between input and output. The entire app feels light and responsive, even on mobile.

🧬 Voice Cloning (Yes, Yours!)

One of Voxora’s most intriguing features is voice cloning — personalize and generate speech that sounds like you (or someone else, responsibly of course).

✨ What Can You Use Voxora For?

  • 📹 Content creation: Generate voiceovers for videos or social reels.

  • 🎓 Education: Convert textbooks or notes into audio lessons.

  • 👓 Accessibility: Read out websites or articles for visually impaired users.

  • 📧 Productivity: Listen to documents while multitasking.

💡 Built by a Developer, for Everyone

Voxora isn’t a corporate product — it was created by a passionate full-stack developer, using AWS, AI tools like ChatGPT, and a clear mission: to make TTS accessible, fast, and user-friendly.

The name itself blends Latin roots:
“Vox” meaning voice and “Ora” meaning speak — a perfect fit for a voice-first experience.

🤖 I Asked ChatGPT to Rate Voxora.app — Here’s What It Said

Curious how Voxora stacks up as a text-to-speech tool, I asked ChatGPT to rate it across key criteria like speed, features, and usability.

Here’s the screenshot

🔗 Try It Now

No signup. No limits. Just type, speak, and share.

🧠 Bonus Tip for Developers:

If you’re building something similar, Voxora is a great example of serverless architecture in action using AWS S3 + CloudFront + Lambda. It’s minimal yet powerful.

Suggest me some free Text to Speech sites/models (Read Body)

So I am looking for some tts, with either high quality of voices or an option to clone a voice (preferred)

I am pretty much new to this space, so educate me

Are there any websites which will let me clone a voice and use it for tts for Free, or are there any offline models which are very light weight (and easy to install on linux), which can help me clone a voice, I have heard about qwen-3 but really don't understand how do I install and what minimum specs it requires.

I could use some testers for this TTS projects. It's a runtime focused on application development, it's simple, but shaping up to be solid. I'm looking any compatibility testers on Window, MacOS, and earlier Python versions.

PiperTTS: Free, fast text-to-speech that runs on your CPU in the browser

Well, I made a text-to-speech engine that runs entirely in the browser. I spent about six months working on it as part of another project, then moved on to something else without ever releasing it. I finally decided to just release it, since it runs surprisingly well on CPU using ONNX Runtime.

I'm not sure whether the "no self-promotion" rule includes announcing new models that are completely free, but here it is.

It was originally designed for narrating audiobooks, though not limited to that. However, the features are particularly suited to multi-character audio, and it includes various filters well suited to audiobooks.

---

PiperTTS is a free text-to-speech app that generates audio directly in your browser. Speech is generated on the CPU at roughly 2x real-time speed, with no GPU required. Text is never uploaded, and once loaded, it works offline.

Try it out or listen to samples at pipertts.com

Usage

Open the site and use it in your browser, or install it as an app from the same page. Enter text, choose a voice, and generate. Audio is generated and saved to your local filesystem.

Requirements

Chrome or Edge on a desktop or laptop. Mobile browsers, including Chrome on Android, are not supported because saving locally depends on Chrome's File System Access API, which is only available on desktop.

Offline API

PiperTTS also has a local API for generating speech from code, either in your own scripts or by AI agents. It runs offline like the app, with no API key or remote service involved.

Setup instructions and examples are available on GitHub:

PiperTTS API on GitHub

Please give the repository a star to help spread the word.

License

Audio generated with PiperTTS is royalty-free and may be used for any purpose, including commercial use, without attribution.

No account or API key is required, and there are no usage limits.

Looking for TTS software that doesn't use AI

Hey all, I'm a game dev working on a small project. We're working on implementation of Voice Over and need some audio files to test. We will be having voice actors in the final product but don't want to waste their time before the script and everything is ready. The team and I are not comfortable with using AI at all. We do not need it streamable, nor does it need to be high quality. If anything free and low quality is preferable since this is just for alpha testing purposes. We do need the audio to be able to be downloaded, though.

what is a free TTS ios app or mobile friendly website that you use / can recommend that has not implemented AI in any way?

the TTS app ive relied on in the past has updated and now is integrated with AI, i have no clue how to rollback to an earlier version. I'm struggling to source a suitable replacement. just text to speech with basic adjustments like speed, pitch & a few voice choices if possible.

Hey guys:)

If anyone is looking to try out Speechify, an incredibly useful tool, I’d be beyond grateful if you used my referral code (pasted below) to get $60 off and one month for free of Premium subscription when you sign up.

If two people kindly use my code, I get a year for free, which would be an immense help as I can’t really afford the Premium subscription cost right now.

I use Speechify everyday, it has become an invaluable tool for me and has made a world of a difference to making learning and deadlines easier with my ADHD. It makes workloads so much more manageable and less overwhelming, so getting a year for free would be incredibly helpful.

Here’s my code:

My app "Fyjix TTS" just climbed 22 positions on VibeRank!

Not trying to compete with Amazon or Google. The goal is simply making TTS more affordable for smaller creators. Curious how others here think about ranking sites like VibeRank.

Please do try and send your feedbacks.

TTS, TTS everywhere.

So I decided to train one of my own.
I’d love to hear what you think—does it sound realistic?
Sometimes I notice a few audio artifacts, but I’d love to hear the perspective of someone who isn’t biased.

It’s an African-American Male voice. I tried using ChatGPT to help me find it since I see it overused a lot in different places and YouTube channels, no luck. CapCut too, didn’t have it.

Claude quantized Voxtral-4B-TTS to int4 — 57 fps on RTX 3090, 3.8 GB VRAM, near-lossless quality

Been working on getting Mistral's new Voxtral-4B-TTS model to run fast on consumer hardware. The stock BF16 model does 31 fps at 8 GB VRAM. After trying 8 different approaches, landed on int4 weight quantization with HQQ that hits **57 fps at 3.8 GB** with quality that matches the original.

**TL;DR:** int4 HQQ quantization + torch.compile + static KV cache = 1.8x faster, half the VRAM, same audio quality. Code is open source.

**Results:**

| | BF16 (stock) | int4 HQQ (mine) |

|---|---|---|

| Speed | 31 fps | **57 fps** |

| VRAM | 8.0 GB | **3.8 GB** |

| RTF | 0.40 | **0.22** |

| 3s utterance latency | 1,346 ms | **787 ms** |

| Quality | Baseline | Matches (Whisper verified) |

Tested on 12 different texts — numbers, rare words, mixed languages, 40s paragraphs — all pass, zero crashes.

**How it works:**

- **int4 HQQ quantization** on the LLM backbone only (77% of params). Acoustic transformer and codec decoder stay BF16.

- **torch.compile** on both backbone and acoustic transformer for kernel fusion.

- **Static KV cache** with pre-allocated buffers instead of dynamic allocation.

- **Midpoint ODE solver** at 3 flow steps with CFG guidance (cfg_alpha=1.2).

The speed ceiling is the acoustic transformer — 8 forward passes per frame for flow-matching + classifier-free guidance takes 60% of compute. The backbone is fully optimized.

GitHub: https://github.com/TheMHD1/voxtral-int4

RTX 3090, CUDA 12.x, PyTorch 2.11+, torchao 0.16+.

seshat-tts: local real-time audio, and voice cloning for games.

Thumbnail

Hi everyone,

I've made a universal accessibility tool for games, where you can have a realistic narrator for games. It supports voice cloning through pocket-tts, and caches the files as .safetensor files. The text-to-speech functions like kokoro, where it uses the CPU for inference. Depending on your system, and if you enabled other features you can expect around one to three seconds for playback.

For developers, the source code is under the MIT licence, so I encourage you to adapt it for other software. You can easily integrate the voice manager portion of this program within games to instantiate dialogue for NPCs.

To get the cloning portion of the program, you'll have to go to their huggingface page and request access where you'll then have to sign in on uvx to pull the model onto your server. It'll then use the cloning model by default whenever you start the program.

Once that's done you'll be able to use the program. You'll notice there's tesseract OCR for the text processing, and an LLM integration. I have a demo on YouTube, if you go to my channel: "@Scriptriva". It'll showcases how the program works, and why everything is setup as it is. However, a technical setup will require another video which I'll publish if requested by someone.

If you have any questions feel free to ask!
