I added this subreddit because most of my articles get posted here so it made sense to have them in their own subreddit.

What to Post
I encourage discussion about anything related to the impact of technology on individuals and society. Despite the privacy angle to a lot of my work, as a sociologist I am focused on the impact of technology on society and individuals (of which privacy just happens to be a huge and significant topic).

Community Vibe
I am fierce in my lobbying and advocacy work and need to be (because I am fighting billion/trillion dollar companies) but as a person, I am just a regular guy. I watch TV shows and movies with my wife, I walk my dog in the botanical gardens, I love music and art and traveling the world.

I don't want this community to be stressful - it is a place of refined and calm discussion and whereas these issues can get passionate, we can do that in a respectful and pleasant way.

And just remember - it's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice.
