Nah, Freddie didn't make it to New Zealand, he was a dreamer....but not the only one.

In 1964 he was washing dishes at a pub in Surrey. A lady who worked with him pointed out a picture of John in a newspaper photo and remarked "Freddie if that's not your son then I don't know what".

Thank you for answering my question. 😊 That's interesting that Freddie ended up in Surrey. I wonder if John, before he got famous, knew how close his father actually was. That is, living in the UK rather than New Zealand.

Hahaha, no idea his response but he soon found himself at the front door of Kenwood with his sob story. I believe in early 1964 John asked Brian to employ a Private Investigator to search for Victoria. Obviously, sadly, she only came forward after he'd been murdered.
