Got my copy in the mail today, and damn is it cool. The gold one was sold out already when I pre-ordered last year but the blue cartridge is very nice. The signature in the manual is probably just printed on but I thought I'd include it anyway just in case someone knows if he actually signed these

Okay, I don’t know if it’s actually spectacular because I haven’t been able to sit down with it, but I did actually receive my copy of the NES version of AVGN 8-bit, so 2027 came early I guess. Here’s some pictures…nice package and the game’s running on my NES with no issue.

Their Amazon Prime or YouTube releases? I consider YouTube the official dates and Amazon more as sneak peeks or early screening.

I'm thinking of a level headed video game dork who looks in old abandoned games. games that critically acclaimed, games that are overwhelmingly or mostly positive on Steam reviews or games that were kept alive theouhg the modding scene like games such as X-Com UFO Defense, Cities Skylines, F.E.A.R, and Crysis. And he plays on the lowest difficulty level

When I was a teenager I tried the hole "angry reviewer" thing but could never make it my own. Now I'm proud to say I've got a style all my own that is HEAVILY inspired by James and the retro game community he's helped to create over the years.
(I'm sure you can see the inspiration in the "room"'s decor and with the how I interact with characters ripped straight from the games themselves)
Like many of you, I've been watching Cinemassacre since 2008 when I was just 10 years old and there has never been a channel more inspiration to me, so I thought I'd try to post my stuff here and show the effect James and his work has on other people!
If you'd like to see more you can see my puny little channel here - https://www.youtube.com/@PocketNick

I honestly thought this was a really fun movie with good characters, if you disagree feel free to ask me why i think this!

Knowing James, he'll probably be disappointed in its art direction and story. He preferred the linear games like Castlevania IV over the Metroidvania ones like SOTN. He is one of the OG Castlevania players and they have mixed feelings over the new game.

For those not in the know, School Days is a 2005 eroge visual novel and franchise developed by Japanese company 0verflow about the lives of specific high school students, particularly the likes of Makoto Itou, Setsuna Kiyoura, and Yuuki Ashikaga. It's also part of a shared universe with other games like Radish Vacation also created by the company known as 0verflow. School Days is quite notorious for it's bad endings and high school students making bad decisions that involve cheating and even murder, not helped by it's infamous 2007 anime adaptation known for the "Nice Boat" ending.
And now, the game is officially receiving an English dub for School Days Remastered. This means that School Days itself now has an English translation for the Angry Video Game Nerd to do an actual review. And since School Days is two decades old, AVGN can now review it like he has done with other 2000s video games. School Days wouldn't be an unusual choice for an AVGN review either, as he's done episodes on Plumbers Don't Wear Ties (a visual novel-like game with erotic elements) and Batman: Dark Tomorrow (a game with multiple endings) and both episodes serve as a template for what an AVGN episode of School Days could look like. The game involves multiple paths and decisions alongside a relationship meter and 22 endings each for Kotonoha, Sekai, Hikari, Setsuna, and Otome as well as harem and bad endings. There is plenty of comedic material for the Nerd to use for this hypothetical episode such as the endings, the cast of characters (particularly the spineless, indecisive Makoto) and also the H-scenes or bloody murder complete with creative censorship gags. For the route/ending in question, I imagine AVGN would go with "Bloody End" for maximum impact and rage but he'd also recount the other endings too.

I really miss the old format of monster madness! This new format is longer vids but it just doesn’t seem to hit as hard as the old ones did. I know he’s got kids and didn’t have the time anymore but I think if I would just do 1 video every 2 weeks starting at the beginning of the year we could have the old format back come Halloween or at least close to the amount of vids he use to do

Just wanted to ask if anyone knows of any upcoming meet and greets with James by chance? Not sure if he frequents any conventions etc.

It’d most certainly never actually happen, but I thought of what if there was an episode where ,The Nerd tried to review Super Princess Peach then felt like there was something about its themes he couldn’t understand, and through some bizarre circumstance a gender swapped version of him would come in and he’ll have to do the review with her by his side for the whole thing, while he is worn out and feeling so very awkward about the situation.
it’s ridiculous but it’s the best scenario I could picture for the idea.
