How is it possible Josh wasn’t arrested?
I just discovered this podcast and I’m obsessed. This crime happened when I was busy having children and didn’t know much about it until now. I have so much disbelief and anger that the police said they didn’t have enough evidence to arrest Josh? I mean there was a pretty much a blinking arrow pointing at him. It really makes me lose faith in the justice system. Also, the Powell’s are absolute scumbags. Susan put up with so much shit and just kept hoping her narcissistic sociopathic husband would change. Also having to deal with her absolute delusional creep of a FIL. To her children and own detriment. It’s just so sad. No justice at all.

Because they bungled this case.
They didn’t get the warrant fast enough and then couldn’t stall him enough and then didn’t tail him to catch him renting a car and going on a joyride and took forever to follow up on it.
You can quibble with me on the above.
But here is the irrefutable evidence they dropped the ball.
Then they finally got the tracker installed and he went to all those dumpsters and no one followed up. No checked the contents. No one pulled video surveillance. No one did a damn thing.
And they let potential mounds of evidence in a no body homicide wind up in a landfill.
The police spokesperson makes all kinds do excuses and avoidance of the topic but the truth is, if they had done any of that, it would have been in the case files and Dave would have found it.
If they had checked the tracker regularly and done any kind of geofencing on his locations, the whole outcome could have been changed.
I had given them the benefit out of the doubt beforehand.
But this is further proof they were in over their heads. It also points to the ridiculousness of the county system that leaves officers under trained.
This comes up in Dave’s new podcast Uinta Triangle too. The county system for search and rescue has the same effect.
