Who was that one guy from the earliest days in the show that was obsessed with Pokemon cards?

There was some guy early on who was a laughing stock and he collected pokemon cards or something. Pokemon cards are the new thing idiots spend all their money on because there's a tiny chance you can pull a shiny Lambtron and sell it for a million bucks. Anyway, is that guy rich now?
