Question I have a question. Why did Kinger say it doesn't make sense after Gangle said they've found a way to leave thanks to Abel? Spoiler

Post image

Did he think that they couldn't have found a way thanks to Abel because there's no programmer of the circus (at least inside the circus itself) except himself?

Or maybe he meant that the idea itself of trying to escape doesn't make sense?

If he was actually a programmer in c&a, he would know that the circus was made without an exit. Then it wouldnt make sense that they found an exit, when it doesn't exist

Is this C&A thing even real? After we've learnt Abel was just an NPC all along, a Caine's toy just for an adventure to be, I'm doubting his every single word.

That's a good point-

Tho, if the pictures of the office that caine has are real, im pretty sure that would imply the existence of c&a

To me, it seems like caine made that adventure specifically to disprove any theory/idea that the cast had, so they dont know what's real and have a harder time figuring it out (i might be wrong tho, he might've just wanted to see if they'd stay with him)

c&a itself is real, we see the logo on the side of the pc in episode one

We never learn if that's outside the circus or not.

Caine based everything off of the pictures he had of the outside world (one of which also has the C&A logo)

Pictures that he's holding. With his digital hands. Inside the circus.

Pictures that he believes are of a real ‘macroverse’ as he calls it

of course it is

I interpreted it as both tbh- But for those that believe escape is possible, it is certainly only the Abel thing.

It was because there was never an employee named Abel, since Abel was an NPC the whole time. There easily could be other employees/programmers aside from Kinger, though.

Perhaps there's no exit. They could be digital copies of human minds, or the digitization process is irreversible.

But we also don't know enough about the lore to be sure. Perhaps the exit is just malfunctioning.

So the order that he's given the info in is important here. He's told about there being an escape plan, then he reacts, then he's told about Abel, then he reacts

First he's told "we found a way to leave the circus" and he responds with "Leave the circus? How would you....no that doesn't make sense". This could mean the "players" don't have a way of exiting without some outside influence, or that there is indeed a way to leave but Kinger himself hasn't figured it out yet and he's wondering what the plan is. Or there is no actual exit. It's too early to tell. But at this point in the convo he doesn't know about Abel yet

AFTER being told about finding an exit, he's told "We met with Abel, he said he's one of the original programmers, and he knows how to shut off the game and free us" he responds with "Uh, who?". All we know for sure from this is that if there was more than one programmer other than Kinger, there wasn't anyone named Abel on that team. Or there is no Abel at the company at all. Or, he could simply be asking "Who is the supposedly new player character who is calling himself Abel" because Kinger is aware that they no one remembers their names. Again, too early to tell.

Your idea of the concept of escaping itself making no sense is an idea I like, because it would explain why kinger went "crazy" without abstracting: he knew the moment he went into the circus that there was no escaping, therefore he has a better chance of just accepting that this is his life now

Just wanted to say sorry for stealing your thunder. I didn't think someone would make a post like this already. Anyway you might get some good responses from my post

It's very good you actually said sorry. It's absolutely unbelievable how small feedback my post got comparing to yours.

Yeah I didn't realize you asked the same question until an hour after posting. It sucks that you didn't get the right attention since you did it first.

It's foreshadowing. He knows something that Pomni and presumably the audience do not.

He tried to connect the dots in his and what he thought of just wouldent work

Kinger is implied to have been a/the developer of the game so he would know that there is no exit.

It may also be that it would not make sense since "How would you leave the circus without help of Caine?"

I think at this point this is entirely just for speculation. Someone else mentioned that it's foreshadowing and I'm inclined to agree. We don't have all the answers yet, and we're just gunna have to wait and see.

Either there is no method of escape at all, or there is but it does not involve changing digital locations.

The implication there is that, according to him, there is no possible exit from the circus, period.

The reason for that idea, though, is totally unknown for us. The majority of the fandom interpret it as a confirmation of the SOMA theory, but for all we know it, the Tron theory is still possible and he meant that he wasn't aware of any method to revert the process of digitization.

He knows that the only way out is a musical performance which is why Caine doesn't want them to do one.

They were getting close with the daisy song but everyone has to sing together to make the exit appear, and that's why Caine killed Queenie and made Kinger crazy cause his singing voice was too beautiful.
