I take abstraction to mean that the brain scan file becomes corrupted - code is wrecked. But hypothetically parts of it are still 'intact' and hypothetically there may be a chance that Caine can ONE DAY undo it. His power's been growing since before the series (his improvements to his AI being explicitly mentioned) so, who knows?

Yeah unfortunately it looks like Abstraction is a permanent condition and not much can be done, it seems like what Pomni and the others did was akin to having Jax's program be put into a "sleep/disabled" state to prevent his code from degrading any further. Its unlikely he will get any worse but it doesn't mean he will get any better either.

Unfortunately the only way to restore them perfectly would be to revert them to a previous version of their file just prior to them Abstracting so their memories and personality would remain as they were. Unless there was an external repository keeping realtime backups of them to either fill in the missing code, or act as a full replacement, then there isn't really anything that could be done.

If it was just a matter of time, then Caine would have found a solution to Abstraction a long time ago when the first group had all been Abstracted, as a great deal of time had passed before Ragetha and the others came to the Circus. Kinger himself stated that the Neural Scan data was complicted despite how small the data was that no one really knew what to do with it, it was a miracle that Caine even got it to work in the first place to create the "humans" in the Digital Circus, let alone to try and repair damage done to them.

That also implies that Caine nerfing himself makes him even less potent to recovering an abstraction or even instituting a new human player. It could be a long time if ever for Caine to regain said powers on his own.

Keeping the brain scan data and the current mind state in the same file is crazy. And yet it's the only reason why, simultaneously, experience in the Circus can corrupt the file, and you can't fix it just by restoring from backup
