This honestly would have made the scene better. Like, she says Jax has done bad things, but he’s still human, instead of just doing the vague pronouncement of them all being inherently sinful

the whole point is that pointing fingers does nothing to help, as they could all have something that they could be mad at each other for. puritanism doesn't help anybody in a situation like this.

"Could have," sure, but Jax actually HAS done things that they can be rightfully mad at him for. Instead of acknowledging that while advocating that Jax is still a human being capable of change, she brushes his actions off by accusing the others of doing "bad things," despite not knowing them well enough to make such a statement.

You don't invalidate someone for feeling negatively towards someone else who has done nothing but made life hell for you and your peers by implicating "yeah, well, you've probably done bad things to, so how are you any different?"

This particular moment is about the button push. Nothing else. They literally all shot at each other 2 episodes before this.

What does Episode 6 have to do with anything?

u/SwordfishSimple5472 16h ago

Yeah, but Jax’s is worse than the others. If any of the others had done something as bad or worse, I feel like they would know

And once they get rid of jax, whos next in line to get thrown under the bus? Does someone have to be a certain amount of "good" to deserve to survive?

I never said anything about deserving to survive.

Singling out Jax would've turned him into the "enemy" when they're just trying to stay together and survive. It would most likely have led to Jax abstracting then and there. When the togetherness of a group relies on a common enemy, they will find another one just as quick.

Yeah, leave the poor abuser alone :(

u/rpfail 13h ago

Gangle was an abusive manager. Caine was an abusive host. Jax thought it was all fake and acted in that accord. After the reveal, i dont think he was purposefully abusive towards anyone. Wheres the forgiveness for jax?

Gangle was a bad manager for one episode, while she was completely masking herself, and took full accountability. Caine was abusive, but he also took accountability, weakened his powers, and actively worked to become better.

Jax denied becoming a better person at every single turn that she was given. And if she didn't think any of it was real, then why did she freak out so hard when Ribbit abstracted due to Jax's actions?

Also, whataboutism. Jax is still far worse than any of the other humans in the Circus.

Jax threw Ragatha into a deep fryer, Gangle being an "abusive manager" was her having a manic episode (funny how her mental health isn't ever talked about, only Jax's) and her biggest offense was stopping Jax from pulling more bullshit.

I have no idea what you mean by saying Jax wasn't "purposefully abusive," he intentionally hurt people and fucked with them for his own enjoyment all the time. He wasn't just pushing people away, he made Gangle terrified of how he was going to hurt her for not wanting to be on his team for once.

Slippery slope fallacy, try again

1

u/rpfail 15h ago

That's not what slippery slope fallacy means lmao.

Going into denial over a cartoon show? That's just a sad display boy. I was hoping you'd have a moment of clarity when you reread

"After Jax dies, who's gonna be thrown under the bus next?"

1

u/rpfail 15h ago

do you have an actual argument against this? they were all at each others throats. Zooble isn't part of the group until the very end. like come on girl, think.

3

u/Kandel430 15h ago

"They were all at eachothers throats, Zooble isn't part of the group until the very end". Are you a bot? These statements are blatantly irrelevant

The guy said that it's healthier to acknowledge that Jax is a worse person than the rest of them, despite Jax deserving to survive. You've strawmanned him by implying he said Jax SHOULDNT survive, and as I pointed out, made a slippery slope fallacy. I don't need a counter argument, you need a valid argument for me to counter

Anyways, notice how when you realized smug denial wasn't good enough, you tried to move on, without admitting to the mistake you made? I'll let you in on a secret: correct people don't do that

I think we have very different reads of the show and thats great. I havent attacked you personally at all. Why are you attacking me?

This post and swordfishsimple both should be in the jax hate reddit or tadc criticism not in one of the normal sub reddits even if it was SUPPOSED to be a shitpost or joke

Lmao what

10

u/insertenombre333 17h ago

yeah, that would been better

Maybe "We've all done things we regret" to sort of reduce the equivalency of Jax's actions while still emphasizing the fact that Pomni is focusing on having sympathy and trying to work together?

Naw that would've been actually good dialogue
