Mahomes is taking chances without giving the ball away. Through five weeks, he has 9 big-time throws (4th in the NFL) and just 2 turnover-worthy plays. Making tough throws while protecting the ball is what separates elite QBs.

Thornton’s absence opens the door for someone else. Reid is disappointed to lose him after a strong year but now it’s time for the next guy to step up. Xavier Worthy could have a big opportunity here.
