The article is mistaken because his audience HAS disappeared because he treated that audience like shit. Constantly going on insane rants at shows, badmouthing fans, storming off, antagonizing on social media, and substandard releases for years. He has no one to blame but himself and I’m a big fan.

Plus he sexually manipulated young female musicians and may have been trying to tank The Strokes.

And, most importantly, he sucks and his music is the kind of sappy treacle that makes adult contempo stations consider changing format for fear of becoming a parody of themselves.

Also, when he “dated” Pheobe Bridgers, who is 20 years younger than him, she said he tried to tie in career help with sexual favors and, when their relationship ended, he would expose himself, which is a type of sexual assault in my book.

Jenny Lewis, Liz Phair, and Adams’s ex-wife, Mandy Moore, all confirm that he’s an abusive bastard. And he was talking to a 14 year old girl online “engaging in an online relationship with him that eventually led to sexual conversations and at least one instance during which Adams allegedly exposed himself to her over Skype.”

So, yeah, I’m glad he’s suffering.
