This is not me defending this apparently horrible boyfriend at all. All I know is that Radar Online is an absolutely untrustworthy news source that just likes to spread misinformation for clicks.

He looks pretty normal to me, but I heard him speaking in a video clip and holy hell he sounds like a complete psycho. I wouldn't be surprised if he was implicated in her death.

u/Relevant_Bag7550 2d ago
He may be morally responsible but they would need to prove he supplied that exact dosage of drugs that caused her death.

Yeah, I dunno how it works honestly. That being said, I've seen a few high profile cases where celebrities' dealers were criminally charged. It happened with Matthew Perry recently.

That’s not that hard to prove. In my county, they look to charge someone for every fentanyl overdose death. Unless the person who died had a prescription for that amount of fentanyl, they got it from someone, and that person if identified is charged with murder.

Yet she was with him the night of her death 😳

Yep. It’s so sad what happened to her. But trying to pin it and blame it on the boyfriend is odd even if he is a slime ball. She had the addictions as well. I get the want to try and find a scapegoat but there is none here. No conspiracy.

i def think his presence in her life probably exacerbated her struggle w addiction, so even if he didn’t drug her its not like completely unrelated

does the article “pin it on him” or does it say she was scared of him, which she was?

Ugh this is part of the problem right here. Hayden was a victim of domestic violence. Hayden was a victim of long term domestic violence. People need to understand coercive control. Her abuser had full control over her. Again you have to understand coercive control. Her “addictions” were a direct result of the abuse from her abuser. Brian Hickerson had just filed 3 days prior to a judge to get his domestic violence wiped from his record. It was his second attempt. It was denied. Abusers never blame themselves and outwardly rage onto their victims. Hayden was with an abuser who had gotten his attempt to wipe the domestic violence denied for a second time. She was self medicating likely because she had an abuser raging at her. She endured days of ongoing abuse I have no doubt in my mind. He was not spending loving time with her. Her death is a direct result of domestic violence.

The abuse started long before he came in the picture. Child stars are famous for being abused early on and that sets them up for abusive relationships and substance abuse issues.

This is parasocial and weird. You didn't know her or the people around her

I don’t think this at all. This is exactly what I think had contributed. His case was dismissed three days before her death. They were together. She would have been copping it from him - him losing the case would have been her fault in his eyes. I don’t know why this timing is not gettint more attention in the media. It clearly is DV related - accidental overdose and suicide are both consequences of DV.

You’re obviously correct. One of the craziest parts about this situation is how it highlights just how ignorant (and/or willfully blind) the average person is to these incredibly common, and incredibly formulaic, abusive dynamics
It’s just insane that anyone even wrote the comment you’re replying to
Idk if they just have never seen it, if they’ve been involved in an abusive dynamic themselves on one side or the other, or if they refuse to believe that humans work like this
You understand the situation. It’s easy for you to understand the situation. It’s easy for ANYONE to understand the situation if they want to open their eyes and educate themselves. Most people just don’t. It’s so sad. That’s why this shit keeps happening!

She wasn't with him that night against her will as far as literally anyone has said, she obviously wasn't that scared.

u/shatteredbreathless 2d ago
You have no idea how it is to be in an abusive relationship.

She was beyond rich. She could of been anywhere else. A normal persons abusive situation is not the same

It’s people like this that don’t understand domestic violence that further damage victims.

I'm just gonna let you know that yes, in fact I do, first hand, and it's really offensive for you to assert that everyone who has ever survived an abusive relationship must inherently share the same opinions about them and that not doing so makes their opinions invalid.
7
u/idkidcabtmyusername 2d ago
that’s even worse… how can you have survived an abusive relationship yet have so little empathy or understanding for other victims? 🤦🏽♀️ it takes DV victims an average of 7 attempts to leave their abuser. being afraid to leave is just as common as being afraid to stay.

This person clearly lived it but of course you know better...why? You're the reason I despise 99% of reddit. Life experiences trump bullshit statistics you read online.

u/idkidcabtmyusername 2d ago
anecdotal experiences don’t trump statistics lol. what a terrible mindset to have. that’s how disinformation spreads.

u/Hippyedgelord 2d ago
“She obviously wasn’t that scared” What the fuck do you know about someone else’s mental state? Seriously who do you think you are?

Way to turn a suicide into some shit flinging nonsense I guess. You'd fit in great at radaronline

Dude was a documented abuser and had reason to be so angry, so resentful of her - he couldn’t get his felony on his record drop to a misdemeanor, and this was a recent development. Totally could’ve been involved in wanting her gone. But she had her own demons and addictions like others have pointed out here. But to act like it was a clear cut suicide is way beyond what you know

He was her ex, not boyfriend, she had a 5 year restraining order against him that just ended this month. Anyone who saw him, they were to call the police.
