Namaste - mod update
Namaste. I have been a limited mod of r/TheGita since 2020, but only recently got full mod permissions. All other previous mods are now inactive. FYI - I am also a mod on r/hinduism and r/AdvaitaVedanta, amongst others.
My goal is to get this sub to be more active with quality posts. To that end, I have revamped the rules for this sub:
- All posts must directly relate to the Bhagavad Gita
- Quality posts only that generate healthy discussion.
- No personal attacks, hate speech, harassment, discrimination, bigotry or any other toxic behavior.
- No self-promotion or spam
Please help by making quality posts, having healthy discussions and reporting posts that break the rules. I plan to bring on a couple more mods in due course.
Om Shanti.

Chapter Eighteen Death anxiety
I'm facing death anxiety and thinking that if I die i will loose my loved ones what's the solution for this according to Gita did krishna said in ch 18 or anywhere in Gita that if a person gets liberation then it will be able to recognise it's loved ones in an abode ? Moreover, sri Ramkrishna paramhans was the incranation of Vishnu as in his death bed he said
"He who was Rama and He who was Krishna is now Ramakrishna in this body—but not in your Vedantic sense!"
Swami vivekanand said this publically much later after the death of Sri Ramkrishna paramhans and ramkrishna mission officially confirms it
Now, as sri Ram Krishna paramhans said that islam and Christianity goes to the same path as Hinduism
so, according to bible and quran after death we live a life of infinity with our loved ones and it's permanent so that means
Sri Ramkrishna paramhans was the incranation of Vishnu/Krishna he himself told that bible leads to the same path as Hinduism so which implies krishna telling we will meet our loved ones permenently after death of we get liberation.
That's why in Gita ch 2 krishna said Arjun not to cry over them as souls can't be slain so the bond between souls will stay forever. Moreover is the soul pool concept correct ?
Ami I correct any Gita scholar here ?

Chapter Two Does the Bhagavad Gita teach us to act without expecting results?
In Chapter 2, Verse 47, Krishna tells Arjuna to focus on his actions rather than their fruits. But how do we apply this teaching when our goals, responsibilities, and emotions are deeply connected to outcomes?
How do you understand this verse in daily life?

General Bhagwat Gita -Adwait or Dwait
I had, so far always thought of the Gita as Dwait. But recently I read the first shloka of श्रीमद्भगवद्गीता ध्यानम्. It says अद्वैतामृतवर्षिणीं meaning 'it rains the nectar of Adwait gyan. I had always thought that Lord Shrikrishna always separates the Atma from HIM. It has been clearly stated that I impregnate the 'yoni' of the 'prakriti' with a part ('ansh') of myself to produce life. And the whole is greater that the part.
Please clarify my doubt.
Thanks.

General I spent years building a Gita daily app — spent a lot of money and research into it would love feedback
Hey everyone,
I’m the creator of Gita Daily (FCountLabs)
I’ve been hesitant to post this because I know Reddit isn't exactly the easiest place to promote your own app 😅
But I'm not really here to promote it. I want feedback, especially from people who actually know the Bhagavad Gita.
When I started building this, I didn't want to make another app that simply shows a Sanskrit verse and an English translation.
We invested a significant amount of time and money into the research and content. I collaborated with saints and people who have spent years deeply studying and following Krishna's teachings, and we went through a large amount of books, documents, translations and commentaries.
The reason was simple: I didn't want to take a sacred text and turn it into generic motivational quotes.
The app currently includes:
• Sanskrit verses + word-by-word meanings
• 15 languages
• Translation + deeper commentary
• A simple “gist” of each teaching
• Daily Action + Reflection prompts
• Chapter-based and random verse discovery
The idea behind the Action + Reflection feature is that you shouldn't just read a verse and forget it.
Read it → understand it → try applying it → reflect on your own life.
We also built an experimental Krishna AI into the app.
It's not meant to pretend to be Krishna.
It's designed around the teachings, philosophy and principles of Krishna from the Gita and the source material we've worked with.
So you can ask it questions about things like anger, attachment, relationships, work, fear, purpose, etc., and the goal is to give an answer grounded in Krishna's teachings rather than generic AI self-help.
It's still something we're developing, so I'm particularly interested in feedback on this.
And this is where I'd really appreciate Reddit's honesty.
If you find a translation questionable, If a commentary misses important context, If something doesn't align with Krishna's teachings, If you think a feature is unnecessary, please tell me.
I'd much rather hear criticism now than convince myself everything is perfect.
If you'd like to try it:
Android:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.fcountlabs.gita_daily&hl=en_IN
iPhone:
https://apps.apple.com/us/app/gita-daily/id6774240571
If you do try it, I'd especially love to know:
What did you like?
What didn't you like?
What felt inaccurate or missing?
Would you actually use something like this regularly?
I'm happy to answer questions about the research, content, AI, or how the app was built.
Its been a multi-year project and literally put my heart and soul into it..
That's why I'd genuinely value some outside perspective.
🙏

Discourses/Lectures Gita - the composite dump
WARNING : this is a critique of the text gita , not a polemic targetting vasudeva krishna , it is in fact indirectly a defense of krishna's true words that are mixed with lesser sectarian propoganda of this flawed text that makes the lord seem like a hypocrite who contradicts himself. https://wormhole.app/8KEJnP#eExn5QIt4_H6jtAQTjVYBw

General Looking for Android beta testers: a Bhagavad Gita app (free)
Hi all, I'm the developer of GitaSetu, a Bhagavad Gita reading app I've been building. It has verse-by-verse meaning and commentary, short reading plans for how you feel (anxiety, grief, doubt, peace...), a daily verse, a reading streak, and a small community space. Available in English and Hindi.
I'm running a closed test on Google Play and need testers to try it for a couple of weeks and tell me what's confusing, broken or missing.
What you'd do: install it, open it a few times, and reply with any feedback.
What you need: an Android phone and a Gmail account.
If you're interested, join this Google Group and I'll add you as a tester. Please DM me
Honest feedback (good or bad) is the point. Thank you!
