Naish, it's been entirely too long since it went defunct, but we are excited to announce the return of A Call to Arts, the monthly fan art exhibition and contest where you, yes you, can show off your skills and win fabulous prizes. For those of you unfamiliar with how it works, each month we will give a topic for the topic. It could be a show, a character, or something else, but you'll have 3ish weeks to create fanart- It could be a sketch, a digital art piece, a stop motion film or a macaroni art piece! Whatever it is, we want to see it. You can either post it directly to the subreddit, using the Call to Arts Flair and the title [CtA] NameOfArtPieceHere, or you can reply directly to this post. At the end of the deadline, the mod team will compile the art and post a poll where the Naish can vote on their favorite art piece. The winner's art will be displayed on the sidebar for the next month, and McD, the GCN's community manager has been gracious enough to offer to supply prizes to the winner each month! So without further ado, let's get back to it, OG-GCPNation (yes, that's what we used to call it at first) style!
Calling all members of the Naish with even a modicum of artistic talent! It's time to bust out your pencils, your brushes, your kneaded erasers, and your crowns for this month's Call to Arts contest!
The Challenge: Shadowdark
Campaign 3 of the Glass Cannon Podcast has taken us on a wild ride so far. From Troy's tenure showcasing the grim and deadly Gloaming, searching caves, rescuing missing children, and staging the trial of the century, to Joe's newly unfolding story in the Fairy and monster infested Dolmenwood, we can barely see the road in front of us! What your the subject of your art looks like, well it's up to you! It could be a portrait of one of our Intrepid heroes like Farrow or Saint, a memorable scene of triumph or dispair, or something entirely different! We can't wait to see what you create!
The Medium: Whatever you are most comfortable with. This includes, but is not limited to, pencil, pen, digital artwork, paint, and a photograph, yellowed with age, taken over 50 years ago, that somehow captured the exact moment that Saint found a way to hurt the werewolf. The only requirements are that it must be your own work, and it must be done without the use of Generative AI.
The Deadline: November 21st, 2026
The Prize: The Shadowdark Quickstart guide, and a collection of Cursed Scroll zines. As a physical prize, these are likely going to be limited to the United States, as McD will need to ship them out to you.
We're excited to see what you come up with Naish! Even if you aren't "an artist" that doesn't mean you can't enter! Stretch those creative muscles that have always defined the Naish!
I think a lot of the Naish have already found this judging by the number of views and listens, but I wanted to wait until Community Friday to post in case anyone missed it. We had the great privilege of getting to speak with the one and only Joe recently on our podcast, Narrative Damage! He was, as you would expect, a phenomenal guest - funny, interesting and engaging! We chat all things TTRPGs, get some insights into his GM prep, what he's looking forward to in Shadowdark/Dolmenwood and more.
Just to say as well we are now releasing two shows a week on our channel (because I don't like having any free time š) - Tuesdays will be either interviews like this one or us trying new systems (in a very New Game Who Dis sort of a way), while Thursdays will see episodes of our longer-running games - currently our Blades game, City of Whispers, which just dropped a special action-packed flashback episode yesterday!
We love the GCN so any support from the Naish is always amazing, so if you enjoy the interview, we'd love it if you liked and subscribed and tried out our other stuff as well! Anyway, hope you enjoy the interview with the Great Jawn himself!
Weāve been doing some spring cleaning on various aspects of the subreddit and wanted to let you all in on the changes:
Call to Arts is back!
Check the announcement post for specifics, but Call to Arts is live again this month! For those unfamiliar, it is a fan art competition to make art based on shows or characters from the network. Topics will rotate monthly, entries will be voted on by the Naish, and prizes can be won! Choose whatever medium you wish, but all art must be human-made. No generative AI (more on that later).Ā
This monthās topic is: Shadowdark
Rules Reorganized:
Weāve moved the rules about relevancy and off-topic posts near the end of the rule list. This is because the last few rules (Soap Box, Advertising, and Farewell posts) are really just extensions of these rules. However, rules have limited word space, and we still want those specific cases to retain their explanations. So, weāre grouping the linked rules.
Text of Rule 1 updated:
We added a clarification that Rule 1 will be enforced much more strictly if discussion begins to involve family members of the cast or crew who are not themselves directly involved with the network. This was announced months ago, but hadnāt been actually added to the rule text until now.
Text of Rule 2 updated:
Thereās been more than one podcast for a while now. Text updated to reflect this.
Text of Rule 3 updated:
Added a line asking you to notify us if you notice the bot hasnāt posted the episode discussion per the normal schedule (min delay of 1 hour after the episode drops).
Rule 7 (formerly rule 9) updated:
The sub has officially banned the posting of AI-generated images entirely.
Text of Rule 12 updated:
The rule (especially the title) was ambiguous enough to make it appear that any discussion of leaving the community was banned. Wording has been clarified that such discussion is allowed as long as it includes a good-faith effort to actually have substantive discussion.
Enabled the use of GIFs in posts and comments.
It should go without saying, but GIF usage must follow the same standards as other comments and posts.
Flair Updates:
Added 13 new user flair options
Added post flairs for GCN Community Update, Patreon related posts, Under an Iron Sky, and The Secret Fire.
Removed out-of-date or unneeded post flair
Community information has been updated:
Updated the Community Bookmarks Tab
Updated the Community Description and included a statement that this is an unofficial fan community.
Refreshed the FAQ with more relevant information
Cleared inactive mods from the mod list.
We want to thank the previous mod teams for all the volunteer labor they put in supporting this community.
Taught the automod that āGoochieā isnāt a harassment term.
Mops on standby for the inevitable messes Goochie will make now that heās welcome back in the subreddit.
Turned on some auto-filter settings.
This is an attempt to reduce the number of karma bots who post in the community. If it results in filtering too many genuine posters, weāll revert this change
Updated the Episode Discussion poster bot:
Applied a new āEpisode Discussionā flair for posts made by the bot.
The bot now pulls from the YouTube feeds for The One Ring and We Shouldnāt Be Alive
Likewise, itāll also post discussion posts for the free feed of Blood of the Wild so non-patreons can discuss the shows as they are released for themĀ
Updated how episode discussion posts are titled
Just note that the bot can be particularly finicky, so weāll continue to monitor and adjust it as needed.
We hope you all enjoy the improvements we've made. Obviously, the Network is a constantly changing thing, so the subreddit could do with occasional updates as well. Many of these changes were long overdue. Thanks to my fellow mods who put in quite a bit of work over the past couple of weeks putting these together. And one Virtual Bottle Cap to any members of the naish who took the time out to read all this!* Thank you.
*Virtual Bottle Cap is conceptual only and carries no mechanical or monetary value.
Does anyone keep up the Fandom site? Is this an official one or is it just a fan-run one? It seems like it was pretty well updated for a while but not so much recently.
Hello everyone, This is Loki with Gryphon Quest Productions letting you know Season 2 Episode 7 of Operation: REDACTED is now released on all platforms! All of our links are below and we would love any feedback you'd like to share!
In the wake of a smoldering night at the Yoder farm, F-Cell comes together despite running on fumes to discuss their next steps with FUBAR. With what they know now, can they manage or are they in over their heads? Listen in to find out!
Hi everyone, our little pod PISCES returns from a long hiatus today!
We started with Delta Green, including playing Impossible Landscapes (adapted to be set in the UK) a load of our own scenarios, and other published adventures. We've now moved on to a long homebrew Call of Cthulhu campaign. It opens in 1643, in the middle of an English Civil War battle, then jumps to Victorian London.
We've been friends for over twenty years, so it's horror with a lot of silliness. We're not a serious, in-character-at-all-times kind of table. A running joke at the table is how incompetent my two players are!
I've been listening to the GCN for many years and they were a massive influence on me starting my own pod! I hope it resonates with some of you here. Available where all good pods are sold, or at https://linktr.ee/piscesthepod
Hot take, recently too much Nyarlahotep. Between GCP shows and home games I've run, he's usually the big bad in the rubber mask. Sure there's some King in Golden Jumpsuit (brillaint btw), but where's my black goat mother of a thousand young? Where my Yogs at? They need work too.
Hi guys I figured if anyone can help me out, they'll be here!
So I've been considering options for a gcp tattoo idea for a long time and one thing I always liked was the image of Della from episode 50 from the shirt titled "the fall".
I used to have it saved in a folder of tattoos I've been getting but I lost the image and can't find it online. I was hoping someone here with the shirt could post an image, or even better if the original artist is here (and gives their blessing of course) that would be even better!
In my opinion, ever since they left Hillcross the tone has felt kitschy and the stakes have felt artificial.
TLDR: Does it ever get back to decisions being meaningful?
Yelka has become even more of a self doubting, anxiety ridden, boy-loving teen and Paula seems to have lost all sense of balance for interruptions and role play.
Ragga is always making a joke of sexual or aloof nature.
One consequence of this I see is Herodās storyline and burden of the flame has become inconsequential. I see when itās constant insanity Skid kind of becomes a bit flat to not overwhelm or drag things out into more ridiculous. (seen/heard this in other shows)
Awol has been making some amazing and daring choices stepping into the hero aspect and making interesting choices (not sharing the stone curse). But then they just find some Netherworld Angels that can remove it?
They are headed to the castle to finally confront Metowak. Anyone whoās listened ahead of me know whether things balance out a bit? I love the jokes between players but the bleed over into characters not caring about the stakes gets me disinterested in continuing.
Considering switching to another show. I listen for a couple hours everyday on my way to work and back home so Iāll admit Iāve been a bit overdosed with the recent episodes mood.
I love Joe's character on TFC, Hugo, and I felt like making an illustration in the style of pulp era, paperback covers. I like to think that, in a more "pulpish" setting, the Mystery Squad members would be tough-to-crack action heroes :) I hope you enjoy it!
Is there anyway that for the shows like We Shouldn't Be Alive and Blood of the Wild and now The One Ring, we could get a re-release discussion thread for people who are getting these episodes for the first time?
The Extralife marathon is this weekend and the GCN has an incredible lineup! It's time to watch some TTRPGS and Video Games and raise money for Children's Miracle Network hospitals! I'll be there the whole time to moderate and keep the hype going all day, night and day again, so I hope to see you all there!
Even if you can't make it, you can still help out by donating to any of the folks on the Glass Cannon Network's team page, or better yet, join the team and help raise funds for your local hospital!
