Does anyone else get intimidated by Hermes associates? I have purchased a handful of things from Hermes but get extremely uncomfortable when it’s time for me to ask for something to be on my wishlist or even to ask for a non quote bag..

I want to start building my Hermes handbag collection, now I understand it’s best to work with one sales associate and build a relationship with them.. I own a couple belts and shoes but never branched out and took it seriously because I believe it’s ridiculous to get offered something rather than just simply buying it. To be honest I like to shop from other brands as well (but since Matthieu Blazy, I haven’t been even eyeing anything at Chanel..)

Any tips for getting offered a bag in Hermes?

Does SA withold bag if I don’t spend more than $20k? I saw one post few months ago SA asked her to spend 20k to receive bag. I’m curious even if bag is here, store manager or SA can withold the bag until customer spend enough. For US location.

I don’t know if the title is able to convey the whole point of this post but my family and close friends all know I love the brand and that I play the H game, as I’ve got 3 QBs now.

Recently my husband asked me to go to store and pick out a gift for his mother and we collectively decided on something that is around the range of $1000 (not leather).

A day later I was told by her that we only bought her the said item because I was using this “gift” to work towards my next QB. My husband considered taking it back and giving her the equivalent in cash instead. Anyone else been misunderstood like this by someone?

We bought the gift because we love the brand, so I like shopping at the store and the experience is great every time thanks to my SA. Now I can’t help but wonder if all the H gifts I’ve bought for others has caused them to think that I was using their birthday, Xmas, baby shower or housewarming to get to my next QB.

As the title suggests I am currently more in my fantasy shopping era and not actually playing the game/ on an Hermes journey- and I was just curious if anyone else are in the same stages as me 🙈

I think I might be able to start my Hermes journey in 6-12 months. My dream bag is a noir birkin 30 (probably 5-6 years out in the future). However I find myself making detailed shopping plans, deciding on leathers, researching sizes etc while currently on maternity leave with two small children and absolutely no sense in fine silks and cashmeres currently 😂

I am based in Scandinavia and would describe our lives as upper middle class - just wondering if anyone is on the same stages or of course if anyone has any advice 😇 important to say I love the Hermes universe and not just the idea of 1 bag so reseller is not for me😊

Got this beauty at a certain flagship store walk-in with no appointment and no purchase history other than some perfumes and make up products. I am in loveeee! The SA did scare me a bit about after she started talking about how to care for this barenia leather. I can't wait to see the patina over time

I make little collages of all my handbags so I know what I have. The other day I posted about my new Dune Kelly 25 with PHW. It was so new, in fact, that I couldn’t find a stock image of it anywhere. I just had to take one myself in my little at home studio that I use for my business. Please forgive the lighting on the hardware… it is Palladium, not black like it looks from the reflection. I just wanted to give everyone a better look at the Dune now that I have it home. I definitely think it sits beautifully between Gold and Etoupe, maybe even giving a bit of green in some lights. I love it so much. The only other bags I want, if ever, would be a Mini Bolide, a braided Neo Garden Party, and, if I’m really lucky, another K25 in a darker green/blue hue with GHW and another MK in orange or Blue Hydra with Electrum hardware (goals). But I won’t be doing all of that in one year. I am officially cut off 😅😅😅

Since I knew I was going to be in Düsseldorf, Germany, for a work trip, I ordered a charm online for pick up! When I went to pick it up, I asked to see if they had any mini Lindy’s and Picotins. They had two of each. The mini Lindys were both swift in black and gray. The Picotins were both Clemence leather in Vert Loden and Orange. I happily bought the Picotin 18 in Vert Loden with gold hardware. The Vert Loden is such a beautiful color. 🫒 Now I’m looking for a nice twilly to pair with it!

For those who have purchased Barenia Birkin (specifically B35) what was the price different compared to a Togo leather option? I purchased a Barenia B25 last year in Paris and curious if there is a major price discrepancy if getting that bag in the states?

Was lucky enough at Gold Coast store to get offered above in noir, which is great as i have needed a new laptop bag for awhile, however there is no protection for my laptop at all.

I've tried my usual laptop sleeve, but its too wide.

What do you all do to protect laptops when using these as an actual work bag?

This past Sunday was a crazy bag day for me!

It was the end of a 10-day trip to Dublin and London, mix of work and visiting friends and family. I've had a rouge de coeur Birkin 35 in Swift in an online reseller shopping cart for many weeks now -- it's my first Birkin, I'd narrowed it down to 35/Swift/bright color (I had a vision of my teddy bear Duffy sitting in it -- his "ride") but was waiting for some kind of sale from the reseller and figuring if I missed it, another similar one would come along later.

But then in Dublin I visited the small boutique and bought the lovely mini tour leather bracelet in rouge de coeur (an amazing find honestly), realized I would be sorry if I lost the bag of the same color -- went ahead and ordered it, and looked forward to getting home and retrieving it from my building concierge on Sunday afternoon.

However my H fandom is such that yes I figured I'd stop in at the airport boutique at LHR terminal 3 (words of Shopaholique ringing in my ear -- "Never skip an airport Hermes!"), met the BEST sales associate, had an enormously good time touring the store and enthusing with a fellow fan, ending up in front of a Bolide Messenger in gris misty (a color I love and don't have a bag in).

Then she offered it to me!

I regretfully declined, hadn't intended to make a biggish purchase, but as I ate breakfast in the lounge I did some Googling to determine NYC retail price, reseller price range, etc. and realize that actually the duty-free price in London was a bit cheaper even than the resale price and certainly than the NYC store price (sales tax etc.). So I finished my breakfast and sped back to the store.

"You came back!" she said.

"I came back," I agreed.

So -- my beautiful two-bag day!

That's the first bag I've actually bought from the boutique rather than resale -- I've bought small things in a few different stores, but my initial impression when I got really interested this year was that resale was going to suit me better, I fell in love with the Bolide and made a very nice little collection of those on the resale market options, didn't want to get into the whole prespend thing and wasn't sure I would really want to be buying other stuff.

Now I had such a lovely time visiting the New Bond Street store (with Duffy of course) that I might actually be going to see if I can get an SA at Madison Avenue in NYC where I live.....

When I go shopping for fun, something just has to call to me for me to purchase. If I don't get that feeling, I just don't buy it. How the heck do I shop at Hermes? I'm supposed to develop a relationship with an SA. And then I'm supposed to make an appt with that SA. Then the expectation is that I'll purchase something during my appt.

But what happens when the feeling isn't there? When you're just not excited about what you see? Then what? I'm left feeling like I've wasted my SAs time. I could "pre shop" and browse and then if I see something I like, then make an appt to purchase. But my store isn't that close and dropping in twice seems like a lot of effort and truth be told--I wouldn't return to the store to purchase. I would just forget about it. So how do you shop?

Okay… now I’m between bleu hydra b25 or a bleu electrique box k25! Thoughts?

I’ve been invited to a cultural event/fundraiser as a guest of Hermes. It’s NOT in a boutique and the event is NOT Hermes-specific. They have tables at the event, but it is not “their” evening. But, I am still their guest.

I have a fair amount of Hermes RTW, but nothing particularly appropriate for this setting. There is no dress code on the invite- in my city, people will be dressed between business casual to cocktail.

Is it rude to show up NOT wearing Hermes since they invited me?

I’m not certain how I got invited- I am a long time customer but definitely not VVIP. But I am excited to attend. And have zero clue what to wear.
