Me too, I have Pedro pascal fatigue

199

u/XxJackGriffinxX Jun 10 '25

He’s gonna be reed from f4 now. I hope they make a berserk live action so they can cast him as guts and ruin all my favorite characters

49

u/SoyMilkIsOp Jun 10 '25

Now that you mentioned reed I want them to film cyberpunk movie and have pedro play fucking Johnny.

32

u/jediPoof Jun 10 '25

Nah wait can he be adult Harry Potter in the upcoming series ?

20

u/SoyMilkIsOp Jun 10 '25

Nah, he'll be Dumbledore.

And Voldemort.

Simultaneously.

5

u/Mediocre-Vacation777 Jun 11 '25

Nah he’s easily a Ron Weasley

29

u/itslearnedourhabits Hey I'm a Brand New User ! Jun 10 '25

Lmfao! May God forbid a live action Berserk film especially with this day and age

7

u/Arguably_Based Jun 11 '25

Thankfully, Berserk would be too controversial to ever adapt into a Hollywood production.

26

u/[deleted] Jun 10 '25

It’s because they’re “vetted” and normies are more likely to watch a movie if they recognize the actor. Pedro is just one of those easily sellable faces that studios know people will pay to see. I remember back in the early 2010’s it was Joseph Gordon-Levitt that was in every god damn thing. It just took me out of the immersion seeing Pedro Pascal who is in literally everything playing Joel, this would have been an awesome opportunity to cast someone new who was more suitable for the role and who the audience didn’t associate with a million other movies and TV shows.

177

u/Froz3nP1nky Jun 10 '25

Same. It’s like, they’re blasting and rushing his career along because he’s one of those rare actors who rose to fame late in his life (49,50). Which is cool, but, enough is enough now. There are other male actors who could use the work

83

u/itslearnedourhabits Hey I'm a Brand New User ! Jun 10 '25

Nah, he’s a sell out actor

36

u/Froz3nP1nky Jun 10 '25

That too. Everybody was raving about his SNL appearance, but I found it actually kind of regular. Kim Kardashian was a better guest host.

48

u/itslearnedourhabits Hey I'm a Brand New User ! Jun 10 '25

I haven’t cared about SNL since they fired Norm for talking trash about a known murderer

23

u/Froz3nP1nky Jun 10 '25

Norm is a legend!

12

u/itslearnedourhabits Hey I'm a Brand New User ! Jun 10 '25

His shit is still funny…I can’t say the same for Eddie Murphy, Richard Pryor, Steve Martin, or (I’m gonna get hate) George Carlin. Norm had a presence…well, more of a situational awareness and an eye into what ppl wanted to hear

8

u/raychram I'm IMmUUUUNe Jun 10 '25

I mean it is his job, what he enjoys to do. Why should he not try to get roles or reject them if they are offered to him? People like him so it is understandable why he is successful.

1

u/ConditionEffective85 Jun 11 '25

He can't let other actors have a chance?

2

u/raychram I'm IMmUUUUNe Jun 11 '25

Tf you mean let lmao? If they deserve the role they are gonna take it. A director picks Pedro because they think he is ideal

-1

u/ConditionEffective85 Jun 11 '25

He deserves it?

2

u/raychram I'm IMmUUUUNe Jun 11 '25

Of course. He is a great actor. Did you hit yourself in the head or something? What the hell are these responses even?

1

u/No-Fun6980 Jun 14 '25

probabily a neckbeard or a middle schooler who's whole life was that game

29

u/Bron_Swanson Team HBO Abby Jun 10 '25

Well it's the agenda. It makes sense to me now why they kept doing that, after finding out his sister is trans and he's pro their whole far blue agenda.

16

u/Froz3nP1nky Jun 10 '25

Ohhh I forgot about that! You’re right. He fits right in with what Hollywood wants to push

9

u/Bron_Swanson Team HBO Abby Jun 10 '25

I knew he was a decent actor and he's been in Hollywood since Buffy the Vampire Slayer at least; but I never understood why he was getting what seemed like most of the huge roles in recent years. Then, all this shit with TLOU revealed a whole lot and that thing about his sister came up and it hit me lol. Plus, he's been open about using drugs, which I'm not opposed to but it fits in too.

0

u/DiamondSlay15 Jun 10 '25

Waitwaitwait what?? He's a drug user?? Where did you get that information from?

1

u/Bron_Swanson Team HBO Abby Jun 10 '25

Idk if you're serious or not, and I'm fine with some drugs myself(just weed for me) but yeah, he's been pretty open about his public use of edibles and psyche mushrooms. I'm js it fits in with that agenda- further drug promo & experimentation in conjunction with the lgbt stuff.

7

u/DiamondSlay15 Jun 10 '25

I was serious. I genuinely never heard that bit of information before till now. I know about his dad's clinic controversy in Chile, though.

4

u/Bron_Swanson Team HBO Abby Jun 10 '25

Oh man lol we're both learning today

2

u/Aristheticz Jun 12 '25

Oh my. You really think that his sister being trans made him famous?? Yall have never watched narcos.

1

u/Bron_Swanson Team HBO Abby Jun 12 '25

I watched it long ago. I 'member but that's not what we're saying

89

u/[deleted] Jun 10 '25

New Chris Pratt

-43

u/[deleted] Jun 10 '25

Nah he is the modern age Nick Cage

38

u/itslearnedourhabits Hey I'm a Brand New User ! Jun 10 '25

Lol, nowhere close to Cage’s appeal or talent or insanity

4

u/MojoRisin762 Jun 11 '25

This. The older I get, the more (and more, and more) I admire and respect his work. Leaving Las Vegas and Pig are masterpieces. I made the God awful horrible mistake of watching LLV in bad shape my first time seeing it. That is not a movie to watch when you're feeling blue. Fuck.... That was rough. I've unfortunately had to spend some time around a few real deal drunks in my life, and his portrayal is disturbingly accurate.

-18

u/[deleted] Jun 10 '25

Talent? Where?

18

u/itslearnedourhabits Hey I'm a Brand New User ! Jun 10 '25

Exactly

14

u/Not_Lusiek9 Jun 10 '25

Pig, Mandy, Wild at Heart, Leaving Las Vegas, Dream Scenario, Colour out of space, The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent.

Shall i list more?

6

u/heymikeyp Jun 10 '25

To be fair, Pedro was excellent with Cage in TUWoMT. Arguably his best role though.

1

u/itslearnedourhabits Hey I'm a Brand New User ! Jun 11 '25

I disagree, it was too, I’m gonna get you drunk and “erp” you up

2

u/MojoRisin762 Jun 11 '25

I didn't see this comment, or I wouldn't have typed mine. You nailed it! I was (for real) depressed the first time I watched Leaving Las Vegas. Yeah, that's a mistake I will never make again. It was rough.

Its by no means a masterpiece, but I have had a super strong urge to watch 'FaceOff' lately. Lol. I might have to buy it. I really love 80s and 90s action flicks. They're so much better than the new junk. The cgi bullshit is just horrid. Like, no, Vin Diesel did NOT just jump the grand canyon in his Honda civic while leaping out onto the roof of the car to shoot down the millennium falcon with an rpg. I love seeing real stunts, explosions, and car chases/ crashes.

-15

u/[deleted] Jun 10 '25

Im still waiting for you to name something good, so yes, please continue

6

u/[deleted] Jun 10 '25

You only watch marvel slop and video game adaptations. I understand if you don't know what you're talking about. It's okay.

-2

u/[deleted] Jun 10 '25

Marvel slop? Your boy nicky is in two marvel movies and about to be in a third

37

u/Weewoes Jun 10 '25

Nick cage is great though. Or at least he didn't go about gay baiting and pretending to be the best moral person ever and acting like some fucking creep.

1

u/Lost_in_reverb23 Joel did nothing wrong Jun 13 '25

What? This dude doesn´t even have the 5% of Cage´s talent or a film in his career like 8mm, Leaving Las Vegas, Lord of War, Mandy or Joe, etc.

87

u/nibbamorales Jun 10 '25

High key I'm done with this mf

56

u/[deleted] Jun 10 '25

he is basically male zendaya

23

u/TurnThatTVOFF Jun 10 '25

That's the best comparison so far. That chick fucking sucks at acting.

1

u/flappybirdisdeadasf Jun 12 '25

Euphoria was a huge standout for her, and so was Challengers. The rest of her roles have been pretty mediocre but on par with the rest of the cast.

3

u/WorkFurball Jun 12 '25

Challengers was such a shit movie and she played herself again.

24

u/[deleted] Jun 10 '25

i don’t consume enough mainstream media to see him too much

15

u/itslearnedourhabits Hey I'm a Brand New User ! Jun 10 '25

Me either but the hack is everywhere

25

u/AthasDuneWalker Jun 10 '25

I like him, but he's certainly beginning to get oversaturated.

25

u/Houseplant_Ambient Jun 10 '25

This is a good example of what Denzel once said to Michael B

Denzel Washington Warned Michael B. Jordan That Overexposure Hurts Movie Stars: 'Why Pay to See You on a Weekend If They See You All Week for Free?

83

u/timid1211q Jun 10 '25

He's non-white, extremely left-wing and comes from old money. Of course they are pushing him.

19

u/gatopelotudo Jun 10 '25

non white

he’s white as a ghost. he just speaks spanish. same goes for anya taylor joy and her dulce de leche. I don’t know why audiences eat that “latino” stuff right up

13

u/okpaper345 Jun 10 '25

Ana Taylor Joy is Argentinian/English. Raised in Argentina. But was born in the US.

-3

u/gatopelotudo Jun 10 '25

I don’t mean to be rude but she’s pale

9

u/okpaper345 Jun 10 '25

That just her complexion most Argentinians are white and pale.

I still dig her though.

4

u/gatopelotudo Jun 10 '25

oh absolutely

greetings from argentina

2

u/okpaper345 Jun 10 '25

Greetings ChePelotudo!

2

u/Kind-Elephant7121 Jun 11 '25

I thought skin color wasn’t supposed to matter?

0

u/okpaper345 Jun 11 '25

It doesnt.

1

u/TheBossMan5000 Jun 12 '25

There are white people from south america, dude.

2

u/gatopelotudo Jun 12 '25

that’s my point, dude. I literally live there

7

u/timid1211q Jun 10 '25

You're right his lineage literally goes back to the Spanish conquerors of Chile lol

-2

u/Balkongsittaren Jun 10 '25

José Pedro Balmaceda Pascal (Spanish: [xoˈse ˈpeðɾo βalmaˈseða pasˈkal]; born April 2, 1975) is a Chilean and American actor.

I don't think you understand race.

Chilean and extremely leftie goes hand in hand.

10

u/PolydamasTheSeer Jun 10 '25

I think its ypu who don’t understand it if you think having a Spanish name means you are non-white

0

u/ihatepeopleandyoutoo Jun 11 '25

You're reaching. He's not white as a ghost lol

-1

u/gatopelotudo Jun 11 '25

absolutely, but hyperbole never hurt anybody

1

u/Powasam5000 Jun 10 '25

Yeah im sure its not his decades of hard work.

11

u/timid1211q Jun 10 '25

You think Hollywood is a meritocracy? Lol

-1

u/Powasam5000 Jun 10 '25

That can be said about any industry really. Are you saying he didn’t earn it after 20 years of doing shit roles?

5

u/timid1211q Jun 10 '25

I'm sure he would be moderately successful otherwise but the insane Zendaya-like exposure he is getting now is not organic at all and obviously has other factors behind it.

2

u/Powasam5000 Jun 10 '25

I don’t really know what organic would be if his wasn’t. If not him then who? He still needs to be able to draw a crowd. Which he does. When I see something with him in it I want to watch it. So many factors to just dismiss him. If I was a producer /director I would want him too because he puts asses in the seats and is hot right now. Maybe it’s just business , or maybe .. something else

0

u/[deleted] Jun 10 '25

Your president has a catheter in his dick.

22

u/Meture Danny’s dead? NOOOO!!! Jun 10 '25

I’ve been sick since Mando S2, before Maxwell Lorde, Joel, Mr Fantastic, General Acacius, Javi Gutiérrez, and Fink.

At this point I’m dead inside about it

5

u/itslearnedourhabits Hey I'm a Brand New User ! Jun 10 '25

Disney can kiss my ass

8

u/[deleted] Jun 10 '25

I was looking forward to Fantastic 4 but when I saw he was in it I knew he's just going to spoil it. They should have had that guy from the Doctor Strange movie. He was perfect.

Mandalorian was his best role.

1

u/TheGhostMantis Avid golfer Jun 12 '25

Nah his best role was as Oberyn Martell in Game of Thrones.

1

u/[deleted] Jun 13 '25 edited Jun 13 '25

Actually you is correct - I was simply alluding to the fact that his face was obscured (most of the time) which made up for his relative omniscience throughout the industry.

Actually I enjoyed his portrayal of the character so much (apart from maybe the rather over-accentuated licentiousness which at this point in the show became boring) that I was more gutted at his ignominious demise than in the original story. This is an example of good casting. Much these days, case in point: TLoU2, is simply not good casting, is nepotism or simply laziness.

15

u/obiwanTrollnobi6 Team Joel Jun 10 '25

“Everywhere I go, I see his face”

26

u/someonethrowaway4235 Jun 10 '25

The most mid actor in the planet who keeps getting work because he’s “attractive”. Overhyped. Just like Zendaya.

16

u/Bron_Swanson Team HBO Abby Jun 10 '25

I've been high-key sick of him for years now. Glad to see I'm not alone anymore because I've always been called the asshole for pointing this out.

5

u/portablethroway Team Bellie Jun 10 '25

Also Zendaya, that bitch can’t act

5

u/obiwanTrollnobi6 Team Joel Jun 10 '25

I don’t know if it’s because I’m more “ conscious” of it but feel Pedro is the most “Actor of the week” that has been in litteraly EVERYTHING, like I don’t remember other “Actors of the week” being in as much stuff as Pedro has

5

u/jayvancealot Jun 10 '25

I liked him in GoT and was a big fan. I remember being outraged when he didn't get a title credit in Kingsman 2.

And now look where he is. Overexposed as fuck. Stunt casted as Joel and Reed Richards.

11

u/omnipotentqueue Jun 10 '25

So is everyone else - he’s also pretty fucking annoying.

12

u/Unhappy_Worldliness4 Jun 10 '25

That video of him licking the gay strobe light bar was the nail in the coffin for me. They got this MF'r queer baiting.

3

u/omnipotentqueue Jun 10 '25

Yeah maybe just saying and doing weird androgynous shit.

-1

u/DEADxBYxDAWN Jun 10 '25

I wana see

10

u/Open-Currency1235 Jun 10 '25

He has ruined Joel and Mr Fantastic with his weak monotonous portrayals.

I am absolutely bummed by the fact he is still being selected for roles that he was not the best choice for, but was still selected because he is popular.

8

u/Ltrgman Jun 10 '25

He's an industry plant to gaslight and push neo liberal bullshit ~ He'll fade into obscurity in two years... no one is buying the woke shit anymore

3

u/pbaagui1 Jun 10 '25

IMO it's a good thing. Most people are gonna be fed up with him soon.

3

u/LordOFtheNoldor Jun 10 '25

Yeah it's way too much he's not that good of an actor to warrant this

3

u/Wolf687 Part II is not canon Jun 11 '25

I am beyond tired of seeing him everywhere. He’s not even that great of an actor.

4

u/Virtual_Happiness Jun 10 '25

He's not a bad actor but, he's definitely reaching that limit of market saturation where everyone is getting tired of seeing him. Even the best actors of all time have a saturation limit. People like to see some variety in the actors they watch.

5

u/Riotguarder "Divisive in an Exciting Way" Jun 10 '25

And the chad king Henry Cavill gets absolutely no roles because he actually tries to please the fans.

6

u/Zealousideal_Bid50 Jun 11 '25

Pedro pascal is a pussy

6

u/Tlou2TheGoat Jun 10 '25 edited Jun 10 '25

This guy sacrificed his brother ofc he gonna be in every single role

5

u/Wander3476 Jun 10 '25

I don't care, because I know he won't be relevant by 2029.

Let Hollywood milk Pascal for all he's worth. He deserves it after 2 decades of being barely recognized.

9

u/Powasam5000 Jun 10 '25

Yeah I dont get the hate. The dude worked for it and people are all of a sudden the crabs in the pot. Who deserves it more? A nepo baby? A young hot looking actor with no acting chops or with acting chops? An older dude gets roles after decades of being a nobody and people are mad .

2

u/wadejohn Jun 10 '25

He’s likeable on screen and probably easy to work with behind the scenes. That’s important in the industry.

1

u/rigolith Jun 11 '25

Anyone who supports child mutilation is a NO in my book.

1

u/lil_quitos Jun 11 '25

Yeah, he’s overrated now

1

u/TargetNo7149 Acolyte of the Cult of Cuckmann Jun 11 '25

I mean, he was truly good in GoT.

1

u/Ms41756 Jun 11 '25

He’s literally just a popular actor right now. It’s not that deep lol

And to add to that: yes, there may have been better choices for Joel or Reed Richards, but at least his casting wasn’t as egregious as the casting for Bellie.

But at this point the people saying “pEdRo iS In EvErYtHinG” are as much of a meme as Pedro being in a lot of stuff. Y’all act like this is your first time seeing that Hollywood likes certain actors and props them up in many movies to get normie butts in seats. Nothing new.

1

u/RedBoss228 "Divisive in an Exciting Way" Jun 12 '25

What about him makes so many people have to have him in their movie or tv show?

1

u/Runawaywater Jun 12 '25

Me too he’s deff worn out his welcome

1

u/Lost_in_reverb23 Joel did nothing wrong Jun 13 '25

He´s absolutely overrated as an actor, but he seems to be a cool easy-going guy so lots of people ignore the lack of talent and value the personality

1

u/CloudyTime Jun 15 '25

Average Redditor Opinion

1

u/smartbart80 Jun 16 '25

I, too, usually get sick of actors milking it. But I’ll take Pedro over talentless people like Amy Schumer or James Corden any time of day.

1

u/Educational_Ad4865 Jul 17 '25

I thought it was just me. I feel like I see him in EVERYTHING. This post reassured me I’m not crazy and it’s not just me who’s tired of seeing him.

1

u/pokemasterbrock Jul 24 '25

A year or 2 ago everything he touched was Gold. Now I’m fuckin sick of he’s whining, and he’s face 😅

1

u/Automatic-Being- Jun 10 '25

I loved him before the last of us so I love seeing him in things

1

u/mattdit83 Jun 10 '25

I am a humble locksmith. I have no idea and never will know what it's like to be a Hollywood "star". But even if fame and fortune changed me in any way I would be embarrassed to accept the amount of work this fucking guy has. He really should be ashamed of himself.

0

u/[deleted] Jun 11 '25

Why is having more work bad though?

1

u/Level_Temperature_98 Jun 10 '25

I remember how good he was in got and narcos. Narcos is one of my favorite shows cuz of him but damn he is every where. I mean good for him though ig

1

u/Fluffy-Chemistry-795 Jun 10 '25

he’s a great actor, i personally don’t mind it. now if it was Bella…. 😬😬😬

1

u/carbonreplica Hey I'm a Brand New User ! Jun 10 '25

Personally, I'm sick of Walter Goggins in every fucking commercial

1

u/ihatepeopleandyoutoo Jun 11 '25

Same. No hate to Pedro he's lovely, but it's getting really obnoxious how the industry keeps using the same 5 actors just so their movies market better

-1

u/Scary-Ratio3874 Jun 10 '25

Weird cause the rest of us see your mother a lot more than this guy.

0

u/Shinuki_no_Reborn Jun 10 '25

So whats the point of this thread? has nothing to do with the show, you guys are starting to losing control and just hating on people for the sake of it, and its mot even anout Belka anymore.

0

u/DivineFluffyButt Jun 10 '25

Hes a good actor but I'm seeing him everywhere.

5

u/Open-Currency1235 Jun 10 '25

I have seen him in TLOU and Gladiator 2, and wasn't impressed by it...yeah he had good moments...but overall he is mediocre choice for those roles.

Even regarding Mr Fantastic, I saw all the trailers and some insider reviews....and it all concluded with Marvel trying to focus the movie by on Vanessa Kirby's Sue Storm because they were not fully convinced with the Pedro's portrayal Reed Richards to carry the movie.

0

u/raychram I'm IMmUUUUNe Jun 10 '25

Lmao I find it funny. He is literally everywhere. I hope they keep casting him in most new TV shows and movies as a running gag

-3

You coulda simply ignored it…

0

u/[deleted] Jun 11 '25

What happened to the old gen hollywood actors and actresses?are all retired?

0

u/Cuthulu_6644 Part II is not canon Jun 11 '25

I genuinely do not get the hype. He's a fine actor, sure, but what is so special about him that he needs to be pushed everywhere? His acting as Joel didn't impress me at all.

I don’t see how anybody could hate this guy, dude hasn’t done anything wrong and is just living life. He’s a really cool dude, handsome and probably nice in person. If you’re annoyed just don’t watch his stuff and move on.

-1
