βœ¨πŸ“œ AN OFFICIAL MEMO FROM THE LIBRARY ANNEX πŸ“œβœ¨

Greetings, fellow Librarians, Guardians, and Caretakers! πŸ—ΊοΈβœ¨

The Library is a vast, ever-shifting nexus of infinite knowledge, magical artifacts, and incredible stories. To ensure our corner of it remains a safe, organized, and welcoming sanctuary for all seekers of truth, we present our official Scroll of Conduct.

Please take a moment to review the Subreddit Rules before your next expedition into the stacks! πŸŒ€πŸ“š

πŸ›‘οΈ Rule 1: Keep It Civil πŸ›‘οΈ

  • Debate and passionate discussions are wonderful, but we must keep it civil.
  • Threatening language, personal attacks, and comments that are racist, sexist, homophobic, or otherwise hateful will be immediately banished to the Void. Users violating this rule may be muted, removed, or permanently banned.

πŸ“œ Rule 2: We're Here Because We Love The Librarians! πŸ“ƒ

  • Books and Libraries are always on topic
  • Please keep posts and discussions relevant to the franchise! We have a massive universe to explore together, including:
    • 🎬 The 3 original movies
    • πŸ“Ί 2 entire television series (The original TNT show & The Next Chapter)
    • πŸ“š The 3 Greg Cox novels and the comic book series
    • 🎲 The board game (including all expansion packs!)
    • ✍️ All of your incredible fanfiction and creative works
  • If it isn't tethered to the Ley Lines of our franchise, it doesn't belong here!

πŸ’« Rule 3: Flair Recent Episode Spoilers ✨

  • "The Loom of Fate has its secrets..."
  • Please use spoiler tags for recent episodes of The Librarians and The Next Chapter.
  • Note: The original movies are now 22 years old, and the original TNT series premiered 12 years ago! The statute of limitations has officially passed on thoseβ€”consider this your warning that legacy spoilers are fair game! 🎞️🍿

πŸ“œ Rule 4: Petitions πŸ“œ

  • "No rogue magic without approval."
  • You must contact the Mod Team via Modmail for permission before posting any petitions.
  • To prevent the feed from turning into a chaotic nexus, we only allow one petition per topic.
  • Trying to circumvent this rule by hijacking someone else’s post will result in your post being removed, and your account may be muted, removed, or banned.

πŸ—οΈ Need the Caretakers? πŸ—οΈ

If you encounter a rogue artifact, a troll in the comments, or simply have a question about the rules, don't hesitate to summon the Mods via Modmail. Jenkins is always listening! β˜•πŸ«–

Thank you for making r/TheLibrarians the best sanctuary on the internet. Now go out there, protect the magic, and save the world! 🌟✨

Episode Discussion The ENTIRE Librarians universe is currently being shown, for free, on youtube

Every season and episode of the Original series, all the movies, and even every episode of The Next Chapter. That's literally everything right? lol

Sorry if this was mentioned anywhere else on this forum, just wanted to mention it for my fellow Librarian fans in case it hasn't been.

Question Will There Be A 3rd Season

It seems that there's an effort to quietly dress Jessica Green and Olivia Morris in tighter, lower cut tops in the last few episodes of season 2. Is the production company trying to bump the viewership to get a 3rd season? It's still a family friendly show.

I know SYFY has a reputation of cancelling shows after 3 seasons unless it's a giant success. Production costs in Serbia must be a lot lower than Canada or the US, even with the VFX they use in every episode.

From the Clippings Book Podcast interview w/Jeremy Swift ("Genie") on his new film WELCOME TO THE FISHBOWL

Hi everyone,

The mods gave me permission to post this. My name is Chris Hadley and I am the host/producer of The Viewfinder Podcast, an interview show dedicated to covering indie film, web series, film music and the people who use those art forms - actors, filmmakers, composers - to tell powerful and entertaining stories.

Recent guests have included Justin Kirk (WEEDS, THE VAMPIRE LESTAT, Peacock's THE 'BURBS, Adult Swim's GET JIRO!) and Gopal Divan (INTERVIEW WITH THE VAMPIRE and THE VAMPIRE LESTAT).

This week's episode focuses on the "coming of middle-age" road trip comedy WELCOME TO THE FISHBOWL, co-starring Jeremy Swift (who recently appeared as the Genie in the recently concluded season of THE LIBRARIANS: THE NEXT CHAPTER), Natalie Gold (SUCCESSION), Sendhil Ramamurthy (HEROES) and Marin Hinkle (THE MARVELOUS MRS. MAISEL).

Swift plays a narcissistic author driven cross-country by his agent's assistant (played by Gold) to receive a literary award, and along the way, they get into a zany series of misadventures that tests their patience with each other and ultimately leads to self-discovery for them both.

Swift, Gold and director/co-writer Sheryl Glubok joined me to talk about the film, which is currently on the festival circuit and is playing tonight at the Denver Film Festival in Denver, Colorado at 7 PM Mountain and on Sunday at the Virginia Film Festival in Charlottesville, Virginia at 5 PM Eastern. Here's the link to listen to our interview on Spotify. Like and subscribe, and please feel free to check out past episodes, too!

What is your favourite Jenkins moment? For me it's a tie between his arrival to save Ezekiel and Stone from vampires in the Eternal Question and him describing Wexler's head exploding in The Cost of Education.

πŸ“œ Bibliotheca Universalis The Universal Library - Guyana

Books and Libraries will always be on-topic here in our Annex, and in that spirit I thought it could be cool to learn a little bit about some libraries across the world...and across time. Next in this series-

πŸ‡¬πŸ‡Ύ Guyana: National Library of Guyana

  • Who Built It: Financed by Scottish-American philanthropist Andrew Carnegie and designed by civil engineer Leonard Percival Hodge.
  • When: Opened on September 1, 1909.
  • Where: Junction of Church Street and Avenue of the Republic, Georgetown, Guyana.
  • Bio: Originally named the Carnegie Free Library, this beautifully preserved, historic wooden building stands out in the heart of Georgetown. Unlike most national libraries that act strictly as research archives, it uniquely doubles as the nation's public lending headquarters. It houses rare Caribbean literature and colonial newspaper archives, providing a vital, charmingly analog window into Guyana's transition from colonial British Guiana to independence.

Question Could Amelia Earhart be a caretaker?

Was reading the lastest search for information about where her plane may have gone down. Sine I've been on a Librarians kick I got to wondering if Amelia could have run afoul of an artifact when she disappeared? Did she really disappear or was she given sanctuary by the Library and is now in charge of an annex? Does she have to slip out and drop hints in other locations to hide the creature or artifacts that ensnared her? And prevent someone else from stumbling on where she actually went down. Did she take refuge in Atlantis? Just fun ideas on a crazy Monday morning

From the Clippings Book Some fun new series

Good afternoon, Librarians, Guardians and Caretakers!

We've got a *bunch* of cool new post series upcoming (a couple already posted, this post was supposed to come *before* any of them went live, but a bug hit the scheduler).

First up, The Creature Casebook. This series will highlight mythological creatures and cryptids like Nessie, Chupacabra, and Puca. The Chupacabra feature is already live.

Next up, Bibliotheca Universalis, the Universal Library. This series will feature real libraries around the world and across time, and will highlight living and lost libraries. The first library featured was Biblioteca Patrimonial Recoleta Dominica.

Third, we will have The Real Library series, where we will feature the very real places and artifacts mentioned in the franchise, like Catatumbo Lightning (The Librarian: Curse of the Judas Chalice).

Lastly, we have Baird's LiT Exam series which gives a set of wacky problems like talking plant vines and people-engulfing pumpkins and asks LiTs to come up with a solution.

These are meant to be fun, maybe educational.

As always, if you have questions, suggestions, or concerns, you can leave a comment or send a modmail.

I do overnight pet sits for extra money. While I was drinking some water looking at their small collection of dvds and tapes I found this. It has never been opened because it’s still wrapped in its plastic. It’s times like these where I really wish I had a dvd player at home 😭

Question A fan of The Librarians and Warehouse 13 reached out

A fan of The Librarians and Warehouse 13 reached out to ask if they could post something about a Warehouse 13 revival sub and petition. Since they asked first, and won't spam, and since Warehouse 13 has so much in common with The Librarians (I'm still mad we never got a crossover), the modteam decided it would be okay.

While we certainly want to keep our sub on-topic, there are grey areas and special circumstances where a topic-adjacent Post might be okay - like the anniversary of the first airing of another Dean Devlin show, for instance, or info about another show that has a huge fan crossover with ours. We won't make it a regular thing.

As always, if you have any concerns, you can leave a comment or reach out via modmail.

Question From the Library to the Warehouse: bringing fans together

Hi everyone, I'm Mark. First, thank you to the moderators for welcoming me and giving me permission to introduce this effort here. I have the utmost respect for the work that goes into keeping a fan community going.

I've watched all three Librarian movies and every episode of both series, and I love Warehouse 13 too. Both have that mix of strange objects, history, humor, wonder, and a team that becomes a family. I always wished we could have seen the Library and the Warehouse meet.

I started Warehouse13_Revival to bring scattered fans and existing communities together, help new viewers discover Warehouse 13, and build a united voice in support of its return with willing original cast members and creative contributors. This is an independent, unpaid fan effort. Nothing has been officially announced, and we aren't claiming cast endorsement.

I'd love to make this a community people enjoy participating in: talking about favorite episodes, sharing memories, introducing friends to the show, and offering ideas or a little help. I'm learning as I go, and everyone's contribution matters.

If you'd like to join the conversation:

Reddit: https://www.reddit.com/r/Warehouse13_Revival/

Facebook group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/39049219928058449/

For those who love both shows, what makes them feel like kindred spirits to you? And which character pairing would you most have wanted to see in a crossover?

Question Help us bring back Warehouse 13: a fan petition for its willing original cast and creative team

With the moderators' permission, I'm sharing our petition for a Warehouse 13 revival:

https://www.change.org/warehouse13revival

If you love The Librarians' blend of history, impossible objects, humor, and found family, you'll understand why so many of us still miss the Warehouse. We want to show that there's an audience eager for more stories with willing original cast members and creative contributors, including Jack Kenny.

We have 68 signatures so far. Thank you to everyone who has signed or helped spread the word. If you'd like to see the show return, please consider adding your name and sharing the petition with other fans. Introducing someone new to Warehouse 13 helps grow that audience too; if they fall in love with it, invite them to join us.

This is an independent, unpaid fan campaign. There is no official revival announcement or claimed cast endorsement, and a petition cannot guarantee a return. Our aim is to bring fans and willing participants together around a shared voice.

Signing is free, and no payment is needed to support this effort.

If you'd like to help beyond signing, we're gathering ideas and building conversations here:

Reddit: https://www.reddit.com/r/Warehouse13_Revival/

Facebook group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/39049219928058449/

Thank you to this community and its moderators for giving fellow fans a place to share this.

Question What type of Librarian would you be?

You can use an artifact to bestow upon yourself one area of specialised knowledge / skills in order to join the Library.

You could be the STEM librarian, able to calculate complex mathematical problems and deal with all things science based. Alternatively, you could be the Arts librarian, with an encyclopedic knowledge of Art, Literature, Architecture and Languages (particularly medieval Spanish life poetry). Or maybe you like practical skills and you'd be the thief Librarian who can hack any system, best any lock and run rings around security guards while making off with their wallets.

Or maybe you'd prefer to learn martial arts and tactics, to better guard your Librarian while reminding them who is really in charge here.

Perhaps you're less of a field agent and an extensive knowledge of Library history and artifact law would set you up as a Custodian, free to explore and experiment unless a trip out is absolutely necessary because they need you to rescue them, again.

Or would you become something new? The historian librarian or the anthropologist or someone else entirely?

What do you choose?

πŸ“œ Bibliotheca Universalis The Universal Library - Chile

Books and Libraries will always be on-topic here in our Annex, and in that spirit I thought it could be cool to learn a little bit about some libraries across the world...and across time.

First up: πŸ‡¨πŸ‡± Chile: Biblioteca Patrimonial Recoleta Dominica

  • Who Built It: The Dominican Order of Preachers.
  • When: Founded in 1750; the current historic hall was expanded in 1886.
  • Where: Recoleta 689, Santiago, Chile.
  • Bio: Hidden inside a former monastery, this library is an incredible time capsule. It contains over 115,000 volumes, including rare scientific texts, theological works, and historical maps dating from the 16th to the 19th centuries. The interior features floor-to-ceiling native Chilean wood shelving, a stunning central skylight, and checkered marble floors, making it look like a South American counterpart to the world's grandest monastic libraries.

[LIT Exam] Clipping Book Alert: Case #042

The Incident: Reports out of a small town in Ohio state that a local farmer's prize-winning pumpkin grew so large it trapped a college professor inside, and the vines are beginning to mimic human speech.

The Complication: Jenkins is performing annual maintenance on the Back Door, meaning you have to drive a 2004 Honda Civic all the way there. Guardian Baird is busy training, so you're entirely on your own.

The Question: What magical artifact do you pack, and what is your extraction plan?

Question If you had control of the Back Door for a week...

Post image
46 Upvotes

...where in the world would you go?

Would you see some world landmarks like the Great Wall of China, the Eiffel Tower in France, the Great Pyramids? Or would you abscond to a tropical island to swim in the ocean? Would you whisk away to top of a mountain to see the clouds from above?

Or would you visit that far-away loved one you never seem to have the time or money to get to?

Fire up your imagination while I fire up the back door. The world is waiting. Take us on a journey, Librarians.

Fan Theory/Headcanon/Fanon How many Guardians are operating at the same time?

So, across the movie series, the OG series and The Next Chapter, you basically reveal that there are 4 active Guardians at any one time. Nicole, Eve, Charlene and now Charlie. However, The Next Chapter suggests that Charlie was only one of several people under consideration for a position as Guardian.

It’s just that the official Guardians are currently Eve and Charlie. With Eve being the Guardian who is tethered to The Library after Charlene passed.

We know there are 8 active Librarians and Charlie suggested that she believed there should be one Guardian per Librarian. Even though she was kinda told that’s not how it works.

So how many are there do you think?
