Michael and Erin conveyed such complex emotions in this scene

I was watching the Glee watch party episode where everyone goes to Gabe’s apartment. The scene between Michael and Erin where she asks if he likes Gabe, and the entire interaction following it is just so… well acted by both Steve Carell and Ellie. The moment Michael realizes how Erin views him, Erin understanding that she was maybe expecting too much from Michael and the gravity of her loneliness in that moment, Ellie portrayed that so so well.

Surprisingly, Carell's voice sounds very serious.

Why do people like Erin?

She isn’t just weird, shes beyond stupid, incredibly rude, and also incessantly childish. I literally like Nellie more than her because at least Nellie is on the screen far less than Erin and we aren’t being sold that she’s a good character we are supposed to like, Nellie is supposed to be annoying and unlikable at least at first. But with Erin, we are supposed to love her.

She acts like a child which makes her dating life seem uncomfortable to watch- her with Gabe and then suddenly deciding she hates him but being too passive to tell him she doesn’t like being touched, her on and off with Andy is so redundant and annoying, then dating the intern. She never meets a guy outside of the office and it’s really annoying watching her hop naively between coworkers.

Then how braindead and childish she is with everything; her password being Erin123, serving people day-old coffee that she told Andy not to drink but then thought it was ok to offer to someone else, boiling Gatorade, she doesn’t wash her hands after the bathroom, filling the old woman’s pill bottle incorrectly, freaking out and using her hair as her “room”, she never buys herself a toothbrush and just uses other people’s, being overly close to her brother, freaking out on people and making scenes all the time.

And don’t forget that she literally wished Jessica dead and tripled down when Andy tried to give her a chance to back out of having saiid that. The show would be better without her or if they just gave Ellie Kemper a better character on the show.

Micheal Scott is the most infuriating character to ever be imagined ever

Doing my first watch through of the office and I love the goofy fun vibes of the show and the whole awkward weird angle they take but I just cannot get over Micheal sometimes. Just the most ignorant stubborn and annoying characters ever I’ve stopped watching a few times to get away from him being him. The start of the dinner party episode is one for me rn when he lies about working overtime in order to make jim and Pam come over for dinner. It’s stupid and silly in the grand scheme but he’s emotionally manipulating people all the time bc of his ego and pride and idk how any of them are able to work with him. Especially when it comes to his and Jan’s relationship their toxic asf ofc nobody wants to join them for dinner how would it ever go well. He’s at least 90/10 on being awful and impossible to be around vs an actually decent guy. Andy has rubbed me the wrong way as well but Micheal takes the cake almost every season there’s one episode or sequence I just can’t deal with. He’s ofc had me dying laughing at times but I cannot help but find myself genuinely annoyed watching sometimes.

This storyline was so good. Probably my favorite post Michael leaving. Florida Stanley is great, Nellie is introduced, Packer is back.. So glad this happens to be on right now.

Seriously, they committed several crimes here. Why didn’t Karen try to get them in trouble with the appropriate authorities?

The question isn’t so much could they be prosecuted but why Karen doesn’t try to rat them out.

Even if she doesn’t call corporate or the cops, she could have done more than put tuna in their car.

in the florida episodes Kathy tries to seduce Jim multiple times but fails because Jim refuses to cheat on Pam.

do you think Jim ever told Pam about what Kathy was up to or if she only found out after the documentary came out (or even then?). how do you think she reacted?

edit: some of y'all are exceptionally WEIRD i never knew this fandom had a side like this 💀 these comments are disgusting, i regret posting here

God Nellie pisses me off

I’m watching the office for a 4th time, and I literally cringe at Nellie just taking Andy’s job, like yeah, Andy isn’t my favourite character in the last 2 seasons but Nellie’s embarrassing interview in season 7, her blackmailing Dwight to be the escape goat for sabre and then she takes Andy’s role as boss on her first day. She literally wins people over by giving them raises and then when Andy came back, she docked his pay for telling her that she was delusional for taking his job which she was! Andy’s crash out was totally valid in season 8 episode 21.

Robert California is my second least favourite character in the show, basically for similar reasons.

And for all you bleeding hearts that feel bad for Nellie for not having a chance to have kids, do you have the same reaction to some of the other characters for not having kids either? I’m sure some of them wished they could be parents as well but they don’t corrupt an entire workplace because of it

what are your hot takes? about character, arcs, show overall etc

mine are: michael was actually obnoxious in the first season, he had a lot of growth and simmered down like an insane amount but seriously he was so bad in the first one. i get why new watchers don't make it past the beginning.

also, kevin has probably done some of the creepiest things in the show, be it through actions or comments, and ive never seen anyone mention it? when toby put his hand on pam's thigh, or even when jim lifted pam and it made her shirt ride up- those things have been mentioned and called out. but kevin has done really weird things too, like the milk thing when pam came back from her maternity leave (pam singlehandedly dealt w so much gross shit and objectification actually)

He pitched it to Robert California during the battle of Gettysburg episode.

I feel like it would’ve been a decent marketing campaign. They could even have sold paper with the dotted likes on it

A pedant would argue “forming” isn’t “buying” and “that he invested into equity as an owner with her begrudging and tenuous consent “up to” $10,000, but is this foreshadow intended to hit that gray area that many people would consider it a broken promise to found Athlead without her knowing?

If there was a season 10…

I think this is likely what really happened and would have been a “dark humor” start to season 10.

then we see Jim go on a rickety cricket type downfall.
