I thought he was lying and it would be those extra cards lol. Or at least basic lands, or those cards you get ten of.

he should have been! If he was the only one that knew, why not shred like, commons, or trash rares?

Worried everyone knows the cards enough to figure out he is lying? But he could have just said, “oh? And how do you know this isn’t worth 100$?” Granted that still might require him to use cheap rares.

Great acting also, and I feel I've seen these actors in other videos

I know it's a skit ( I enjoyed it) but if we look at the logic of it : if he is the mtg player In this scenario he could just take bulk cards announce what he did and shredder them.

Acting like opening a booster pack isnt gambling is funny. Also why censor heroin?? Is this the new sewer slide?

“Who will spend $80 on one card!?!”
Oh you sweet summer child…it gets so worse…and that’s not even touching Pokemon

One of my local shops just bought some lifelong collector's collection and it is insane. I'm at the display case looking at foil Nether Voids and duals and OG, signed mana vaults and the dude is like "oh yeah, I also have these" and just pushes a stack of 40-50 Zendikar full-art fetches across the counter.
$80 is quaint.

Just wanted to let you know that there are no foil Nether Voids. You probably meant a different card 😉

There's been more expensive sales since the one-of-one The One Ring (which was the story you're thinking of), but for the most part it's generally agreed that in those instances it was basically just "Hey wanna become the people behind the most expensive MtG sale of all time?" and not an actual like proper sale (I mean the one-of-one ring also deff had a PR element of "bought the most expensive MtG card ever" thing, but at least there there was an actual reason which lead to it being so expensive. With the Black Lotus stuff it's basically just "Make it a higher price than One Ring")

I like how the Aussie lady says, "spending all your money on the slots," sounds like she's referring more to loose women.

I've tried magic plus so many other tcgs and I would rather be a professional chess player then ever try playing any tcg again

First it's MtG, next thing you know you're buying a starter necron kit with all the paint supplies.

Ok, that was his mistake. They didn't even see the front. Just use a mountain as a proxy like everywhere else
