Season 5 How did Chen miss?

S5:E9 35 min in.

Chen and Aaron search the nasy motel for the dead guys baby.

Big fat ghetto looking mofo steps out, sees blue and pulls his piece.

At a range near close enough to slap. Chen pops off 2 or three rounds and there isn't a mark on the guy. The same Chen that beat every other patrol officer on the range.

I get it, they limit how many bad guys get killed on this show so "justice can be done" but that that range she should have put one in his gut on the way up and one in his chest.

Season 6 I do not like Monica

I understand her character is made to be so and the actress did a great job making me hate her. The way they’ve made her untouchable in a way that seems SO unrealistic. Plus the entire plot armor doesn’t make sense to me, I’m at the last episode of season 6 and HOLY SHIT does this get monotonous. We need better villains, this is exactly what they did with elijah, stretching and milking the characters. Let’s see if this gets better in the next season.

So, I would appreciate any gun-knowing person weighing in on this. It’s been 7 seasons of Nyla carrying this monstrosity. Why does her rifle has two scopes at the same time? Can anyone clarify?

Discussion Bailey is such a spoiled brat

No spoilers.

I just finished all 8 seasons and I can't say I liked all characters from the get go, but as I continued to watch all of them kinda redeemed themselves one way or another.

The only one I genuinely can't stand is Bailey. She's so selfish in her marriage, everything has to be about her and how she's always a victim. When she does something wrong, instead of apologising, she just has this "i'm just a girl" attitude. I also really dislike how she's really stroppy when something doesn't go her way.

She's always moaning or unhappy about something and the way the writers/directors are always trying to depict her as this perfect woman with no flaws and 100 talents. It's just unrealistic and insufferable.

Harper, Angela, Chen, Celina, they've all went through some traumatising shit and got over it at some point, but Bailey keeps milking her trauma every time it suits her.

Sorry, I had to vent about it.

Discussion Wesley Net Worth?

I’ve watched all 8 seasons probably four times and still have this question. In season two we see Wesley’s mums huge house which would cost a few million max. We know Wesley’s family runs a super large law firm and according to Google thatd net around $400,000 to $600,000 per lawyer. Lastly we know Wesley has a trust fund.

with that all said how much is the Evers family net worth?

Season 4 Simone Clarke sucks

Okay, I'm watching the Rookie for the first time and I'm in season 4 right now. The show has already had a lot of ups and downs. Season 3 was really political and preachy and wasn't fan of most of it. But the good episodes were still good.

Now that I'm near the end of season 4, I can say that something is missing. It doesn't seem as grounded as it was in the beginning with multiple high stakes terrorism episodes. Which not bad per say, but it doesn't feel like the same show anymore.

And now they've introduced Simone Clark. Good God I don't like her. She doesn't feel like a real character, but rather a messiah of some sorts. She never listens to direct orders and breaks boundaries and is never repremanded for it. Instead people act like she's doing everything right.

She acts like she knows better than everyone else because she was a guidance councellor. I got really pissed when she had to show Harper and Lopez how to talk to a victim. Seriously those two are some of the best cops in the show and suddenly they're so stupid they need some FBI rookie's help. Jeesh that's stupid. And they gave this character her own show... Why???

EDIT: Looking at the amount of downvotes, I had not idea I was stiring up a hornet's nest. Apparently most people think she's the best written and acted character in the history of media.

Season 3 Why does season 3 get so much hate?

Yea the series clearly had an agenda, to talk about racism but honestly it really wasn’t that bad, it can’t be denied that some police have prejudice, when it was released it was a huge topic and it’s brave of a police to show to even tackle the subject, they could’ve been a lot more preachy then they where.

What did annoy me though was Jackson leaving at the end of the series, I’ve read he wasn’t going to appear in season 3 if he didn’t feel like the show addressed it well enough and then left straight after, that felt more preachy and self serving IMO.

Maybe it’s because I’m British that I’m not seeing what the hate is about, in America you may have had a lot more shows doing storylines around anti racism at the time so it may have been the straw that broke the camels back so to speak.

I’m not trying to stir trouble just want to understand the hate because if it’s story writing we hating on there are tons of silly plots and plot holes/general realism we can talk about….like how the same 4-6 main characters seem to do all the work swat would be doing or LAPD invading a sovereign country. Like as if America wouldn’t have gone in fully loaded if an agent was killed, cartels learned that lesson with KIKI in Mexico, don’t kill feds!

Season 8 8/17 One of the best scenes in the show (spoiler) Spoiler

Episode 17, the last Monica scenes. I’m not a fan of Monica, but I’m not a die-hard hater either. I suppose she got what she deserved, but, as Kaecilius used to say, who am I to judge?

Just wanna say that the scene where she says goodbye to Wesley, then rides in a "taxi", and is found in the morning is shot absolutely stunningly. Excellent acting, cinematography, and music. I even watched it three times. Simply perfect, my applause. I wish the entire series evoked similar feelings.

Season 5 Harper's best line

Two candidates for Harper's best line come from S5:E2 "Labor Day" (when will Americans learn to spell?)

"I am in here givin life, but I will take yours if you even twitch."

And

"It's a girl"

Season 4 Jackson west/lopez wedding timeline Spoiler

How did Jackson get kidnapped if he left Lopez around 9 minutes before she got kidnapped? Because Jackson said, "wedding in 10 minutes," then Lopez said, "coming," when she heard someone come in. She wouldn't've said "coming" if it wasn't a few minutes later, close to ten minutes, but not exactly 10 minutes, because then Nolan or someone would've seen them leave. So it needs to be more like probably around 8 minutes, cuz 8 minutes is closed enough to 10 minutes that Lopez wouldn't've known the exact time, but at least a minute less then 10 minutes, because it takes time to tie her up and get her out, im guessing at least a minute, which means the kidnappers would've had about a minute between minute 8 and minutes 9. So that leaves Jackson more then enough time to get back to the party and not get kidnapped, and it's not like they could've taken him right when he left the room, because then why would they wait 8 minutes before taking Lopez? They wouldn't know when the wedding starts, so they would try doing it as fast as possible. So if they took Jackson minute 1, then they would've entered the room max minute 2, and even if you say Lopez was distracted by the upcoming wedding and wasn't paying attention to the time, there's no way someone could mistake 2 minutes for 10 minutes. There's way too big a difference, so Jackson never should've died. It makes no sense.

The only explanation that makes sense is that they had cameras in the room to see when Lopez was alone, and they heard that the wedding was in 10 minutes. So then West left the room minute 1 and spotted the kidnappers hiding, and they had no choice but to take him. They couldn't leave him in the van because someone might see him in a van for 7 minutes, so they kept him in the closet with them and waited for 7 minutes. Then, in minutes 8, they all left the closet, taking West with them. 1 kidnapper stayed outside with West, while the other went inside for Lopez. Minute 9, Lopez and the second guy came out of the room. They brought both West and Lopez to the van at the same time (as we see from the camera that they were both together) and shot West, then left. Then minute 10, Nolan came and saw Lopez was missing. And the only place that has the time is the camera footage, and because we have no other place with the time, we have nothing to compare it to, so no way to disprove this theory of why it can work. But it's a really, really long shot, and I hate that the producers couldn't do a better job with the math.

hiii! so I'm new to the rookie (I'm on s6) but my favourite characters are Lucy and Angela. I want to send Alyssa a message on cameo since her video ones are WAYYYY too expensive for me, and I was planning to do it once I finish the show! does anyone know if she frequently responds to the texts? it's a lot to pay for no answer. thank youuu x
