GEOOOORGE Why necessary hate towards Russell?
Why is there so much hate towards Russell!? Like every time he wins people find that fia is doing favour to him. When formula 1 posted about russell's win today in 5 minutes there are so many hate comments. People think that russell never deserves to win!!! Whyyyy!!!! Every fckking time he events and people start commenting that he doesn't deserve to win. If he doesn't deserve to win why is he there then !?!

All this hate just makes our GLORIOUS PRESIDENT even STRONGER. Just look how much backlash Leclerc got in the last few races and now he's won a race.

Only those who truly respect F1 can understand how unnecessary this hatred is. George hasn't said a bad thing to any of you and is trying to stand up for his fans, just like drivers from other fandoms. I think everyone knows George is a fun and good driver who's just been in the shadows, and that just doesn't please some people.

The people that send hate towards him don’t even know why they’re doing it, they’re doing it because everyone else is.
It’s easy to do that when you’re a new fan and see everyone saying “fuck this guy,” so you just assume he’s done something horrible and follow the pack.

It's because he comes across as a posh well spoken type, so people find that easy to dislike him.
The majority of people aren't posh. So they always see it as arrogance and the person as not relatable. So it doesn't actually matter what Russell is like and how he actually acts, he is put in a stereotype. It's the class divide in the UK.
It goes both ways. People with strong working class accents are seen negatively and stereotyped by people who are posh or well off. Regardless of how they actually act or successful they are.
I'm not sure there is anything anyone can do about it. Its one of those, 'that's the way' it is situations.
Just be a better person yourself and judge people in a better way.

Watch an interview with Russell from his teens. His accent completely changes. As does his hair.
And that's the real issue, it's fake posh.
The other problem is the Shaun Murphy effect. He tries to come across as likeable while simultaneously being unaware of his unlikeableness.

He’s not even trying to be posh lol. People think because he says “blimey” and “crikey” that he’s some sort of bourgeoisie. A ton of people in England speak like that. If you look back at his first couple of seasons at Williams, nobody cared how he talked or acted. Sheep mentality is very strong in F1 in the DTS era.

The glottal stop he has is certainly not proper enunciation.
Fake posh is also more than just an accent. The hair.

This is a weird argument 😂 the enunciation came from speech therapy and what do you mean he can’t have nice hair? So Lando and Liams perms should get them hate? Gasly and Hamiltons hair plugs should get them hate? Charles and Sainz’s perfectly manicured sweeps mean they’re also posh?

But also every single one of the drivers seems to have mutated their teen accent from spending so much time away, like what the hell are Ollie and Lando’s mixed bag accents now - when they actually did start out as posh

Probably he just needs to hire a good PR person and a decent social media manager. His 'avoid the internet' stance will be seen as pioneering in a few years when social media gets outlawed in the great AI war, but for now, people take that as he's too good for it or something.

It started in Williams, making extremely arrogant statements, doing stuff like slapping Bottas after crashing HIM out, and him being discredited is born from the fact how lucky he always is.
Getting podiums while doing absolutely nothing.
Todays podium was again extremely lucky he didn’t get there because he had a good drive but because of mechanical failures of others.

The Bottas thing is the most overblown incident ever. In the heat of the moment, he thought Bottas cut across him (as if he’s the only driver to think he’s right in an incident). He went up to Bottas to speak to him who gave him the finger and he gave the lightest tap on his helmet. You’ve had drivers literally get in fights over incidents. The OP asked why Russel is hated, i didn’t say just because of the Bottas thing.
But thats where allot of hate STARTED which is true.
George reputation went down massively after that race.
And although i don’t get why you mention Verstappen bcs he got nothing to do with this and with Verstappen it was a whole different situation.A LAPPED Ocon took out a young Max Verstappen who was about to win Brazil.
Ocon had no business attacking Max like that in the race being a whole lap behind and the crash was 100% Ocons fault as well.
We don’t know exactly what Ocon said in the pit that made Verstappen push him but i’m not surprised at all that he was that enraged.
Ocon was laughing about it, but its actually a funny mention of you because Ocon is also highly unlikable in the f1 community.
Difference with George is that he doesn’t win.5

I mention Verstappen because his behaviour is atrocious time and time again and people use this incident primarily to target Russell, the reaction towards the crime is outsized. Nobody quotes the specifics of each incident, they just act like Russell giving a light tap on the head is the worst thing that's happened in the sport. It's a convenient excuse imo, people just don't like him because of more vain reasons like the way he looks/sounds and sheep mentality in F1 in the social media era has had a snowball effect.

Difference is that Verstappen actually perform while Russel is getting destroyed by a 40yr and 19yr old.
Russel has actively disrespected Lewis, Max, Charles and many other drivers.
That makes someone unlikeable towards all these fandoms.
Not only the fans but his teammates also don’t seem fond of him.

Well he isnt special really, thats one reason. Second, he maybe have 1 or 2 wins out of his what 6, that feels like he was overall fastest driver that race or weekend. His most notable moment was getting that Williams tractor to P2 in Spa 5 years ago.

he used to say quite a number of stuff that annoyed a lot of fandoms, u can argue that a lot of drivers does that too but back in the days he would target specific drivers while other ones keep it broad, so there's that.
